PREFACE
WELCOME TO USE AMROAD VP
Thank you for choosing the Video Door Phone.
For Intelligent building and intelligent household, VP115, Video Door Phone is also called
“Desktop Control Unit”. Besides the functions of video phone, it acts like a small control center.
Through the VP115, you can view Community Notices and connect to Scene Control/ Security
System. These will bring convenience and security to your modern life.

Streaming Video and Voice over IP networks (VoIP).
Support SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) telephony services.
Friendly GUI (Graphical User Interface) with four interactive soft buttons provides most
easy-to-use operations.
Integrated 5 inches LCD panel and camera provide outstanding video quality.
Ergonomically adjustable camera and screen position.
Multi-function keypad for telephony operations and configurations.
Handset and speaker-phone modes.
Visitor picture Taken for Not Answered AmRoad Door Phone (Max. 15 pictures)
Scene Control –One button to turn On/Off Scenes
Safety System –One button to turn On/Off Safety
Web User Interface for online configuration from web browser on your computer

USE of SIP
SIP, initial of Session-Initiation-Protocol, it is an application-layer control (signaling) protocol
for creating, modifying, and terminating sessions with one or more participants. These sessions
include Internet telephone calls, multimedia distribution, and multimedia conferences. Simply
say, SIP is a most commonly used protocol that used to interconnect SIP Enabled PBX and/or
SIP User Agents to each other to establish voice and video sessions between each other over an
IP Network.
There are few typical applications of SIP products, please refer to diagram right:
Make a video phone call from VP115 to another Video Phone through the network.
Make a video phone call from software on laptop to VP115.

SINGLE UNIT APPLICATION
VP115 uses standard SIP protocol that is easy to connect with other SIP-based devices over the
network.
The illustration shows that VP115 is connected to SIP-based devices such as Video Door Phone,
SIP Camera, and Video Indoor Station in a single house. Of course, VP115 is also connected to
remote VP115 through network.

COMMUNITY APPLICATION
VP115 is also used for building, apartment or community. Please see the diagram. Connect each
house or apartment with a large IP PBX to make a (video) phone to your neighbor. Tenants can
check visitors, monitor public areas or call each others with extension numbers. Connect to SIP
VoIP services to make a SIP phone to remote side via Internet.
NOTE:The settings for VP115 in this manual are based on the condition that VP115 works with
AmRoad IP PBX (IX6030, 6031, etc).

ASSEMBLING THE PHONE
Press the longer straightened end of the
handset cord, and plug this end into the back
of the phone base unit.
Plug in short straightened end of the
handset cord into the jack at the bottom of
the handset. Please refer to Figure right.
Press the handset cord into the holder of the
back device.
You may fix the Handset Cradle with Phone Unit
by using the bundled Fixing Plate. Please follow
this procedure. Please refer to Figure.
CONNECTING TO THE
NETWORK
Please identify which Video Door Phone model you have before installation. Standard model
comes with only Power (DC-IN), ETHERNET, USB port, Audio Out & Mic In and Reset on the rear
panel.

Before you connect power cord of power adapter, we suggest that you should connect other
ports/connectors first. Finally, plug in the AC power adapter to an electrical outlet.
Please follow these steps to connect your VP115:
To connect to Ethernet network, plug in one end of Ethernet cable into ETHERNET port of
the phone base unit, and then plug in the other end to an Ethernet switch or Hub.
Plug Headset device (optional) to Audio Out & Mic In port.
Audio Out & Mic In is for headset or microphone 3.5mm jack.
Use only the adapter that came with the product to avoid damaging your VP115.
POWER ON THE PHONE
After this phone is properly installed, you may power on it by plugging in the power adapter
connector. Following boot-up sequences will take place:
A Welcome message will show up on the LCD first. This screen will last for about 5
seconds. Please refer to the first picture from the left below.
Then you will see a System Loading message on the LCD screen. A vivid color ring is circling
during this stage; please refer to second picture from the left below. This screen will last
for about 25 seconds.
After boot up sequences are completed, the main page will show on the LCD screen,
please refer to the third picture from the left. Now this Phone is ready to use.

model only.

DEDICATED FUNCTION KEYS
ITEM DESCRIPTION
HOLD Press HOLD function key to place a call on hold.
NOTE: When you place a phone call on hold, you can look up Phonebook
on the video phone at the same time.
TRANS.
(transfer
extension /
volume)
While talking on the phone, you can press TRANS function key to transfer
your phone call to another extension number.
NOTE: This function will work when works with IP PBX with call transfer
function. And, the function is available only in Network (IP Phone) mode.
Lift handset or on the Dial screen, press function key TRANS and
Navigation button “<” or“>” to decrease or increase volume.
FLASH While you are talking on phone, another phone call calls in at the same
time. User may press this FLASH key to switch phone calls between the 2
phone calls.
MSG. When the MSG function key is blinking, press it to display messages such
as missed call, community notices, safety notices and/or, visitor
record(s).
SPKR. Press SPKR dedicated function key to enable Hand-Free feature that
allows user to talk on the phone without holding the handset.
MUTE Press MUTE function key to mute the audio and video. Press this key
again to resume. The function is available only in Network mode.

BASIC OPERATION

Use handset or press HOLD function key to place a call on hold.
For SIP network calls, please press network function key to dial.

your last phone call.
TRANSFER While talking on the phone, you can press TRANS function key to transfer
your phone call to another extension number. (The function is NOT
available in PSTN mode.)
NOTE: This function is based on the setting of Amroad IP PBX.
CHANGE Press this button to swap the video view between main screen (from
caller’s camera) and small box (yours).Press this button to swap the
video view between main screen (from caller’s camera) and small box
(yours).
OPEN THE DOOR Press “#” key to open the door after confirm your visitors.
NOTE: The door must have been installed “Electrical-door Lock”
MUTE Press dedicated function key Mute to mute audio and video. (The
function is NOT available in PSTN mode.)
NOTE: Press this Mute key again to resume.

MAIN MENU
Select MAIN MEUN:
1. Use Navigation Key Pad as shown right side, and [<][ >][∧][ ∨]
keys to locate preferred item, then press Enter key [] to select it for
further actions.
2. Press the numeric keypad (1, 2, 3 … 8) directly as Speed (Shortcut) key
to enter each main feature.
NOTE:For VP115 GUI and WEB UI, please use alphabet and numbers to enter data and don't use
special symbols to avoid lossing data while saving setting.

CALL
When you lift up the handset of the VP115 or
select first item Call by navigation key pay,
the Call (Dial) screen will appear.
You can make a (video) phone call through
either Network (IP Phone) mode or PSTN
mode. By default, the (video) phone calls are
made through Network (IP Phone) mode.
Lifting the handset or pressing the SPKR
button, you can make a phone call by
pressing the numeric keys.
This phone is able to remember last called phone number. So if you have made a call
before, you will see last called phone number on the dialing field.
INCOMING CALL
When a call is coming in, the phone will ring, and
you will see the screen on the Right side appeared.
You may answer this (video) phone call by
following ways:
Pick up the handset.
Press the Answer soft-function key or SPKR.

REJECTING THE CALL
When a call is coming in, you don’t want to answer this (video) phone call and reject the call,
press the Reject soft-function key to reject the call.

MUTING A CALL
You may press the MUTE button to cut the outgoing video and voice when using handset
or speaker-phone.
This feature allows you to prevent the persons on the other end hearing what you or
someone else at this end is saying.
You can cancel the mute function by pressing the MUTE button again.
ENDING A CALL
You may end the call by hanging up the handset if you are using the handset. While you are
speaking on VP115, press the SPKR. button to end a call.
