Thank you for purchasing the Andatech® Soberlive FRX breathalyser.
An essential for workplaces, the Andatech® Soberlive FRX is an all-in-one breathalyser, temperature
scanner and facial recognition ID to screen employees and visitors before they even enter your
premises. With the ability to be connected to any access control system, the Soberlive FRX can also
automatically restrict access to those who are running a fever or are over your workplace policy's
alcohol limit. The first line of defense to protect workplace safety, the Soberlive FRX saves valuable
time, eliminates direct physical contact and reduces the need for extra manpower when it comes to
temperature and alcohol screening.

DEVICE INSTALLATION
GUIDELINES
● Install the device only indoors, in a covered environment.
● Install the device in a location with sufficient lighting
● Do not use the facial recognition feature under a strong light.
● Do not expose the device to the sun for a prolonged period of time.
● Do not use in locations that are subject to high humidity. Excessive humidity may cause
damage to the device's components.
● Do not install in locations with large temperature fluctuations throughout the day as this may
affect temperature calibration and body temperature results.
● Choose an installation location that has a regular, room temperature - away from direct
sunlight, excessive heat or cold air (e.g. directly facing an air conditioner). Excessively hot or
cold temperatures may affect body temperature readings.
● Use our provided power adapter- connecting it to an improper power source may damage
your equipment and lead to fire and/or damage.
● Keep the camera clean for optimum photos and facial recognition.
● Device should be installed facing directly forward with as little tilt or inclination as possible to
ensure the best body temperature results.
WALL-MOUNTING THE DEVICE
To mount on the wall, use the appropriate
screws (2) and wall anchors (2) for the type
of wall material you are mounting the device
to.
Drill two holes on the wall (depth: 50mm,
distance between: 34mm). Put the wall
anchors inside the hole, and push the screw
inside the wall anchors. Reserve around a
10mm gap from the wall, and fix the device
into place, then hang the device.

ANDALINK
The Andalink is a secure, cloud-based software that bridges the Soberlive FRX with a complete data
management system. With Andalink, company and OH&S managers can register users and faces, as
well as view, download, and manage reports for their employees' alcohol and temperature results.
SETUP INSTRUCTIONS / ANDALINK MANUAL
For instructions on how to set up your Andalink account for your Soberlive FRX, please visit
andatech.com.au/andalink-manual to see the updated Andalink manual and log in with the
credentials provided in the letter with your device during purchase.
ADMIN SETUP
Important: Before operating the Soberlive FRX, please create at least one (1) staff that has the user
role Admin for each location/device.
By default, an Admin staff is required to conduct the Admin Temperature Calibration on the device
during startup.
You can disable this requirement or add a new Admin user on the device under Advanced Setting.
You can also add new Admin users online on Andalink (refer to Andalink manual above).
ANDALINK SYNC
Test results from the device are synced to Andalink immediately (as long as there is an active internet
connection on the device).
All other changes from Andalink to the device are synced every 10 minutes.
FORCE SYNC
To Force Sync the device with Andalink, connect a mouse to the device.
Then click and hold the cursor on the version number (displayed on the bottom right of
the device screen).
The server (cloud) icon will start rotating and display a downward arrow icon to indicate
that it is syncing.
The Force Sync is complete when the icon stops rotating. The number beside the icon will be updated
to show the updated number of registered faces synced from Andalink, and a pop-up message will
appear in the Notification Area that the Force Sync is complete.

ABOUT TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION
The Temperature Calibration is required to evaluate and adjust the precision and accuracy of the
Soberlive FRX's temperature measurements.
TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
To perform a Temperature Calibration, a calibration operator stands in
front of the Soberlive FRX and faces the camera.
The device will then take their temperature and use that as the
guideline for 'normal body temperature'.
Note: It is recommended that the calibration operator first check their
body temperature (e.g. with a separate accurate, reliable handheld
thermometer) to make sure that it is normal (within 36~36.5°C) before
performing the Temperature Calibration.
ADMIN TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION (ON DEVICE
STARTUP)
Each time the device is switched on, it takes 10 minutes to warm up
and will then require a Temperature Calibration.
This can only be performed by an Admin user or by any user (if enabled under Advanced Settings).
Note: The device will auto-restart daily at 4AM (device time) by default - this setting can be changed in
Device Settings. Any software updates are done automatically during restart as long as your device is
connected to the internet.
INTERVAL TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION
During normal operation, the device will also require a
Temperature Calibration at regular intervals (recommended /
default setting: 60 minutes)
When the device requires Temperature Calibration, the Thermal
Imaging Display will turn completely orange and the Notification
Box will show 'Please contact calibration operator' if anyone
attempts to take a test.
A normal test cannot be taken until a calibration operator
performs the Temperature Calibration.
MANUAL TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION
If a temperature calibration is needed outside of its regular
interval period (e.g. temperatures seem too high or too low, or is
measuring inconsistently), a manual temperature calibration can
be performed.

To do this, connect a mouse to the device and enter the Device Settings Menu > Temperature
Calibration and click on 'Start Manual Calibration'. Then, follow the steps under 'Temperature
Calibration Procedure'.
CALIBRATION OPERATORS
By default, only a user with an Admin role (set in Andalink) can
conduct the Interval and Manual Temperature Calibration.
The calibration operator for these can be changed to a non-Admin (any user) under Advanced
Settings (Temperature) by un-ticking the checkbox for 'Temperature calibration by operator only'.
The calibration operator for Admin Temperature Calibration (on device startup) can also be changed
to any user under Advanced Settings (Temperature).
Refer to Advanced Settings (Temperature) for more information.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PRE-TEST CONDITIONS
1. The operating temperature range is between -10°C to 50°C. Using the device within this
temperature range will limit condensation from a user’s breath to ensure an accurate reading
from a user’s breath sample.
2. It is recommended that the user does not consume anything for 20 minutes before the breath
test. Following this procedure will eliminate possible misreadings from mouth alcohol and
food.
3. The device can be used with either a sampling cup or a straw adapter and regular drinking
straws (not provided). Set the alcohol test type to either Quick Test Mode or Standard Test
Mode under Advanced Settings (Blow) and install either the sampling cup or straw adapter
onto the device before using.
a. The sampling cup is recommended for Quick Test Mode. The sampling cup should be
cleaned with a non-alcohol disinfectant and wiped dry between each test to prevent
cross contamination or alcohol residue from affecting the next reading.
b. The straw adaptor is recommended for Standard Test Mode. Users should be
provided with individually wrapped regular drinking straws (not provided) to take a
test. Each user should use a new straw for each test and dispose of the used straw
hygienically after testing.
4. After switching on the device, allow 10 minutes for the device to warm up before performing
the Admin Temperature Calibration.

TEST PROCEDURES
Follow the device's instructions shown in the Notification Area when taking a test.
1. 'Face camera. Keep face inside the frame'
Stand in front of the device, face the camera and position face within the Facial Recognition
Frame shown on the LCD display.
2. Device will analyse the results and display them in the Notification Area.
a. If the temperature reading is above the Body Temperature Limit, an alert will sound
and the test procedure ends.
b. If the temperature reading is below the Body Temperature Limit, the test will proceed
to the next step.
Note: Body Temperature Limit is set under Advanced Settings.
3. Device will then prompt the user to take an alcohol breath test. Follow the instructions in the
Notification Area:
4. Device will analyse the results and display them in the Notification Area along with a voice
alert (if enabled) as “Pass/Fail” “Name/Visitor” “Body temperature” “Alcohol reading” .
Note: Pass/Fail alcohol limit is 0.00 by default and cannot be changed. Any result over 0.00
will be a 'Fail'.
5. Results are synced to Andalink immediately after each test (if device is connected to the
internet).
6. A new user can take another test by repeating from Step 1.
Note: Check ‘Test Delay’ under Advanced Settings menu for the time delay before the next
test can be taken.

DEVICE SETTINGS
To access the Device Settings Menu, plug in a USB
mouse into the device and long press (click + hold) the
icon on the bottom left of the screen.
Calibration
Access is restricted to authorised calibration centres only.
Network
There are 3 methods of connection: Ethernet, Wifi, and 4G (additional module)
Click on any method of network connection to activate or deactivate it. Once a network preference
has been selected and activated, the corresponding icon will turn blue.

Advanced Setting
Enter the password 978165 to access the Advanced
Setting menu for Recognition, Temperature and
Enrollment.
Alcohol Test Percentage
Set the percentage of registered users to randomly test for
alcohol.
or example: When this is set to 100%, all registered users
will be tested for their alcohol reading. If this is set to 50%,
then 50% of all registered users will be randomly tested for
an alcohol reading.

Recognition (Device screen will show ‘Blow’)
●Disable Alcohol Test - Tick this to disable alcohol testing
on the device. Untick to enable alcohol testing on the
device.
●Quick test mode - Tick this for fast testing using a
sampling cup. Only a short breath sample is required to get
a result. The provided sampling cup is recommended for
use with this mode.
●Standard test mode - Tick this for more accurate alcohol
testing. A longer breath sample is required to get a result.
The provided straw adaptor is recommended for use with
this mode, and users should be provided with clean,
regular drinking straws (not provided) for individual testing.
○Min.blow time(s)
■ Set the minimum blow time required for
sampling (from 3.0s and above).
■ Applicable only for Standard test mode.
Note: In both Quick and Standard test modes, the alcohol test readings will be shown (e.g.
0.02%BAC) unless this setting is disabled under 'Show alcohol test reading' in the Settings
menu.
●Tail Sampling
Read the FAQs section for an explanation of Tail Sampling.
○ Tick to enable taking the test sample only from the last few seconds of the blow.
○ Untick to disable tail sampling.
●Blank Test
○ Tick to enable an air blank test before each new test. The device does this to ensure
the mouthpiece and sensor are clear of alcohol from any previous tests that may
affect the next reading results.
○ Untick to disable blank test.
●Pass Limit
○ Set the pass limit for the alcohol test result on this device. Any test result above this
set limit will be recorded as a “FAIL” in the device and Andalink.
○ Important: Please ensure that the limit is set the same in Andalink (see KB article:
Ensure set alcohol / temperature limits are the same in Andalink and device)

●Enable Mask Detection
○ Tick to enforce all users to wear a mask. If a user is
detected as not wearing a mask, device will notify
'PLEASE WEAR A MASK' and sound an alert.
Users cannot take a test unless a mask is detected.
■ Note: If Mask Detection is enabled, the setting 'Visitors Allowed' must also be
enabled as the device cannot conduct any facial recognition on registered
staff wearing masks.
○ Untick to disable mask detection.
●Visitors Allowed -
○ Tick this to enable non-registered users (visitors) to use the device.
■ Device will display the user ID as 'Visitor'.
■ Andalink will store visitor's picture and test results. User ID will be recorded
as 'Guest Mode: User not registered'.
■ Registered users will be able to use the device as normal (user's name will
be recorded).
○ Untick this to allow only registered users to use the device.
■ If a non-registered user uses the device when visitors are not allowed, it will
display “FAIL” and the visitor cannot take a test on the device.
●Without Recognition
○ Untick this to enable the device's facial
recognition feature (default setting).
○ Tick this to disable the device's facial
recognition feature under one of the modes
below:
■Controlled Mode - Allows an external controller (e.g. external card reader) to
control the device. In this case, special software may be used, e.g. to read
the card first before the alcohol test, etc. Please contact us for information.
■Master Mode - Disable facial recognition for all users. Registered and
non-registered users can use the device but all users will be identified as
'Visitor' on the device or 'Guest' in Andalink test records.
●Turn off calibration alarm
○ Untick this to get notified when the breathalyser sensor is due for calibration.
○ Tick this to disable the notification when the breathalyser sensor is due for calibration.

After making changes, click to save the settings.
Temperature
●Body Temperature -
○ Tick to enable temperature scanning for all
users
○ Untick to disable temperature scanning
completely
●Body Temperature Scale -
○ Tick to select either °C or °F for body
temperature reading.
●No body temperature limit -
○ Tick to disable all temperature alerts.
■ Temperature pass limit is 0 by default
(all temperature readings will be
'Pass')
○ Untick to set a body temperature limit and
alert sound:
■Body temperature limit - Set a body temperature limit (e.g. 38.0). Any
detected body temperature above this set limit will sound an alert.
■ Important: Please ensure that the limit is set the same in Andalink (see KB
article: Ensure set alcohol / temperature limits are the same in Andalink and
device)
●Do not display temperature reading -
○ Tick to hide the temperature reading when temperature is scanned.
○ Untick to show the temperature reading (e.g. 37.0°C) when temperature is scanned.
● Locked after startup for 10 mins before calibration
○ Tick to lock the device for 10 minutes after device startup. No test or Temperature
Calibration can be performed during this time.
○ Untick to leave the device unlocked and allow testing and Temperature Calibration
after device startup.
●Manual temperature calibration by operator only - Controls the calibration operator setting
for Manual Temperature Calibration (under 'Temperature Calibration' in Settings menu).

○ Tick to allow only Admin to conduct the Manual Temperature Calibration (default
setting).
○ Untick to allow anyone to perform the Manual Temperature Calibration.
● Calibration by first measurement result and Startup calibration only - Controls the
settings for Interval Temperature Calibration.
After making changes, click to save the settings.

Enrolment
Use this step to enrol anyone, including admin role users
for temperature calibration, into the device or Andalink.
● Connect an external keyboard to the device
● Enter the staff’s details into the system. All fields
are required (Staff ID or Username, Position,
First and Last Names, and Role).
● Click on the ‘Server Enroll’ button to submit the
enrolment details.
● Position the registered staff’s face in the device
camera so that it fills the green frame on the
screen. Please follow the Facial Recognition
Guidelines mentioned in this manual.
● Once successfully enrolled, the device will
display ‘Enrolment successful’.
● The device will sync the new user’s details to
Andalink during the next sync (about 10 minutes).
Alternatively, force sync the device to Andalink by
long clicking the version number (displayed on
the bottom right of the device screen).
Device Info
Shows the Device Information, including software version
number, serial numbers, last and next calibration dates, total
numbers of tests, total number of remaining tests and location.

2,000 test records can be stored along with the photo of the users.
Click on to scroll or to search for a record.
