Thank you for purchasing an Andatech®Soberlive breathalyser.
The Andatech®Soberlive is a wall-mounted breathalyser features a built-in 9”
tablet PC that is fully connected to the Internet, allowing various functions to be
done wirelessly. As a fuel cell breathalyser, the Soberlive provides accurate BAC
results of employees and even guests or visitors, and is ideal for workplaces with
multiple breathalysers on multiple sites, and that require strict on-site alcohol
testing and comprehensive reporting. With access to the Andalink, you can easily
manage all your Soberlive breathalysers from multiple sites as well as get test
reports sent to your email, receive notifications and change user information and
login details online.

ANDALINK SETUP (FOR ADMINISTRATORS)
The Andalink is a secure, cloud-based software that bridges the Soberlive
with a complete data management system. With Andalink, company and OH&S
managers can register users, as well as view, download, and manage reports for
their employees’ alcohol results.

Installation
1. Unpack the Soberlive unit and its accessories from its packaging.
2. Drill holes onto a wall. Ensure it is near a power outlet and in an area with
sufficient Wi-Fi coverage.
3. Unlock the back cover using the key provided with the unit. Connect the power
cable and plug to the back of the Soberlive and plug into a power outlet.
4. Use provided screws to attach the Soberlive to the wall.
5. Close the Soberlive unit and lock the cover into place. Ensure to keep the key in
a secure place.
6. Switch on the power at the power outlet. The Soberlive will start up and the
login page will load.
7. Log in with an Admin or Manager account to access the admin panel (below).

Date, Time and Wi-Fi
Important Note to Administrators / Managers: Ensure that the time and date on
the Soberlive is always set correctly.
1. Tap on the Wi-Fi icon.
2. The Wi-Fi screen will show the
current date and time of the device
on the top right of the screen.
Tap on “Time Settings” to enter the
Wi-Fi and Time and Date settings.
3. Scroll up the left menu to the
“Wi-Fi” setting.
Switch Wi-Fi to “ON”.
Select your preferred Wi-Fi network
from the list and connect to it.
4. If your device time is wrong, then
scroll down the left menu and
tap on “Date & time”. Make sure
“Automatic date & time” is ticked.
Click on “Select Time Zone” and
select the correct time zone.
After these steps, unplug the main
power cable of the Soberlive device
and then plug it back in.

Test Count
Shows the device's last calibration date and total number of tests taken since the
last calibration.
Result
Shows all the test results taken on the device.
Manage User
ADD NEW USER - Add a new user for this Soberlive device.
SYNC - Tap this button to sync all the users between the Andalink and the device.
(Note: Make sure that the device is connected to the internet.)
GUEST LOGIN - Switch the guest login on or off. This will allow users to take a
test without entering a user ID and PIN. Guest test results will be recorded as
username "guest".

Sensor Swap
Used when replacing sensors for calibration. Refer to Replacing Sensors section.
Email Settings
Customise the Soberlive email settings for the test reports.
Sync with server - This option will sync the most recent settings with server.
(Make sure the Soberlive is connected to the internet)
Allow Emailing - This option will enable or disable email features.
Email Options -
• Email Summary - Tick this box to get a summary report that will show
results for all tests taken before the summary time (decided next)?? Untick
this box to get individual test result emails (sent as soon as a test is taken)
• Email Type - Emailing Days (select the days to send emails) or Monthly.
• Summary Send Time - Input the summary time in 24-hour format (e.g.
23:30).
• Over Limit - Get an instant email notification for tests with results that are
over this limit (pick the limit in %BAC).
Email Address -Tap "Add Email" to add an email address. Click X to remove an
email.
Note: To get an email notification, this device must be connected to Wi-Fi at all
times.

Measurement Unit
Choose the preferred measurement unit. Tap on your selection and tap on "Back"
to save.
High Low Settings
Choose the High and Low level for this device. If the user exceeds the limit, it will
trigger a continuous beep sound after taking the test.

Device Sleep
Set the time to turn the device on and off automatically.
Precaution: If device does not wake up on the selected time. just turn off the
power supply to the Soberlive and turn it back on after 5 seconds.
Update
Andatech may update the device software from time to time.
If an update is available, an update message will appear after an Admin or
Manager logs into the device. Alternatively, click on the Update icon to check for
updates.
1. To update the device, tap on "UPDATE".

Admin Exit
Tap this to log out of admin /manager view.
The Soberlive will return to the login screen.
2. The update will start downloading.
Note: Download times will depend
on your internet speed.
3. Tap on "Install"
4. The update will start installing. 5. Once installed, tap on "Open" to
complete the update.

1. Ensure the Soberlive device is
switched off.
2. Unlock the back of the Soberlive
using the key provided with your
device.
3. Remove the top and bottom
screws attaching the sensor to the
Soberlive.
4. Pull the sensor out of the Soberlive.
5. Replace with a newly calibrated
sensor. Write down the new sensor's
serial number.
6. Replace and tighten the top and
bottom screws.
7. Cover and lock the back cover of the
Soberlive.
8. Switch on the Soberlive.
9. A device error notice may appear.
10. Click on "OK" and log in using an Admin / Manager ID and PIN.

11. Another notice for calibration may appear after login. Click "OK" to close the
notice and load the admin panel.
12. Click the Sensor Swap icon from the admin panel.
13. Enter the new sensor's serial number and then tap "Apply Setting" to save.

OPERATING GUIDE
1. Log in to a user account on the Soberlive using an ID and PIN.
For guest users, just click "GUEST LOGIN" to take a test (no ID and PIN is
required).
Note: This option will only appear if "Allow Guest" is enabled in the Location or
Soberlive settings.
2. Push the button on the Soberlive to begin a test.
3. Remove a straw from the straw outlet and place one end into the sampling
hole.
4. Blow into the straw for 4 seconds or until the reading is complete.
5. The Soberlive screen will display the results.

1. Flow error
If you stop blowing or you do not blow strongly enough, “Flow Error” will be
displayed.
Please wait until BLOW shows up and try again using a strong, steady breath.
2. usb_communication_error
The USB connection between the PCB and the tablet PC is disconnected. Check
the connection and reconnect them properly.
3. module_error
The sensor module is not connected properly.
Check that the sensor module is positioned correctly and reconnect them
properly.
4. hw_error
There is a hardware problem on the PCB. Contact customer service.
5. This status is not T2. Please check Analyzer status
T2 indicates that the tablet PC is ready to receive data from the Soberlive.
If you see this error message, contact customer service.
WARNING DISPLAY
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. The machine is plugged in, but there is no power.
The power of the product was set at 110V (or 220V) by default. You need to make
sure the voltage is correct.
Otherwise, make sure that the line attached to the power adapter is connected
correctly to the power socket on the bottom of the machine.
2. The machine is not responding even when blowing properly.
Check if the display window shows “Sensor count error”. If it does not, contact
customer service.
3. After testing, the machine stops and keeps displaying the result only
The machine displays the result value for about 15 seconds. In order to go back
to the measuring mode, the alcohol blown into the sensor must be eliminated
completely.
A higher level of alcohol increases the time required for this elimination to be
completed, but it should not exceed one minute. If it exceeds one minute, the
sensor may be malfunctioning.
Contact customer service if this is the case.

1. How can I change a user ID and pin?
Log in to the Andalink as an admin, search for the user under the "Users" list,
and click on "Change PIN".
You cannot change a user's ID.
2. Can a user access their own test results?
No
3. Can a user delete or edit their details or test results?
No
4. How instant are the Soberlive’s test results, changes and updates synced to
the Hub?
They will sync within one hour.
5. What will happen if the Wi-Fi is down in my location?
The Soberlive will continue to work and save test results offline. Once it is
connected to a Wi-Fi network again, it will sync the results to the Hub.
6. Are my Andalink and Soberlive login details the same?
Managers must use their Andalink login details (email and password) to enter
the Soberlive's admin panel. Once logged in, managers cannot take a test. A
manager must have set up their own user ID and PIN in order to take a test like
a regular user.
For users, their PIN and ID can be used on the Soberlive only, not for the
Andalink.

MEASUREMENTS & CONDITIONS FOR TEST
• Use a clean sampling cup for each test. Sampling cup should be replaced after each
positive BAC test result or when it is dirty.
• Do not allow samples containing smoke, tobacco or other chemical products to enter
the unit, as damage to the fuel cell can occur. Cigarette smoke may also increase the
blood alcohol concentration value displayed. Allow one minute after smoking before
testing.
• There must be an interval of at least 15 minutes after alcohol consumption as
alcohol residue in the mouth may give a false reading. Such residue may also be left
by aromatic drinks, mouthwash, medicines and drops, as well as by belching and
vomiting. Rinsing your mouth with water or non-alcoholic drinks does not substitute
for an interval.
• A person’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) can continue to rise for up to 2 hours
after drinking alcohol. If a result is close to the designated BAC, it is recommended to
wait and retest after 20 minutes.
• It can take 10 hours or more for a person’s BAC to return to zero after a high BAC has
been reached. A further test should be carried out later in the day or the following
morning.
DISCLAIMERS
• This product must be used strictly in accordance with the instructions in this manual.
• This product is intended to provide the user with an indication of alcohol on the breath.
However, neither the manufacturer nor the supplier gives any warranty (express or
implied) that the product can give any indication of blood alcohol level.
• A person’s BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) can only be accurately measured by the
administration of a blood test. This product only measures breath alcohol content which,
in turn, only gives an approximate indication of blood alcohol concentration.
• In these circumstances the user of this product should not rely on the information
provided thereby as an accurate indication of their blood alcohol concentration or of their
level of intoxication or of their fitness to drive and in particular should not take any action
in reliance on such information as the product can provide no more than an indication of
alcohol on the breath.
• If the user of this product makes any decision or takes any action based on the use of the
product such decision or such action shall be at the sole risk of the user and neither the
manufacturer nor the supplier assumes any responsibility for such decision or action.
• In particular, neither the manufacturer nor the supplier shall be in any way liable if the
user of the product asserts that the product led them to believe they were fit to operate a
motor vehicle and are subsequently found not to be so fit.

LIABILITY FOR PROPER FUNCTION OR DAMAGE
The liability for proper functioning of the instrument is irrevocably
transferred to the owner or operator in the event the instrument is
serviced or repaired by personnel not employed or authorised by
Andatech. In such an event, the warranty will be void.

It is our aim to provide you with quality products that you can trust. Our products come with guarantees
that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or a
refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality
and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The Guarantee
The product is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period of 1 year from
the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will
be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion, solely at our option with no charge for parts and
labour. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies in respect of
the product that the consumer has under the Trade Practices Act and similar state laws.
Proof of Purchase
This warranty is valid for the original purchase and is not transferable. Please keep your purchase
docket or receipt as proof of purchase and as proof of date on which the purchase was made. The
purchase docket (or a copy) or receipt must be presented with the warranty when making a claim
under this warranty.
Service during the Warranty Period
To claim for warranty, contact us on 1300 800 200 or send and email to
[e-mail] to get an RA# (Return Authorisation Number). Ensure that the RA# is
clearly stated on the outside of the packaging and that the product is properly packaged so that no
damage occurs to the product during transit. Shipping of the product back to us for warranty will be at
your cost. A product return without the RA# or proof of purchase will not be accepted.
Extent of Warranty
This warranty is limited to defects in workmanship or parts. All defective products or parts will be
repaired or replaced. This warranty does not cover manuals and packaging.
Normal Wear and Tear
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear to the product or parts.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
• Calibration costs.
• Any defect caused by an accident, misuse, abuse, improper operation, lack of reasonable care,
unauthorised modification, loss of parts, tampering or attempted repair by a person not authorised
by the distributor.
• Any product that has been damaged by a lightning strike either directly or indirectly or a main
power surge or liquid ingress.
• The product if it is located outside of Australia.
• Any damage caused by improper power input or improper cable connection.
