LiPo Battery Warnings
IMPORTANT NOTE: Lithium Polymer baeries are signicantly more
volale than the alkaline, NiCd or NiMH baeries also used in RC
applicaons. All instrucons and warnings must be followed exactly
to prevent property damage and/or personal injury as mishandling
of LiPo baeries can result in re.
By handling, charging or using the included LiPo baery you assume
all risks associated with LiPo baeries. If you do not agree with
these condions please return the complete product in new, unused
condion to the place of purchase immediately.
Although the 1200mAh 2‐Cell/2S 7.4V 25C LiPo Baery (AZSZ2503)
included with the Ethos HD/FPV is intended to be charged
safely using the included 2‐Cell/2S 7.4V AC LiPo Balance Charger
(AZSZ2504) you must read the following safety instrucons and
warnings before handling, charging or using the LiPo baery.
You MUSTchargetheLiPobaeryinasafeareaawayfrom
ammablematerials.
NEVERchargetheLiPobaeryunaendedatanyme.When
chargingthebaeryyoushouldALWAYS remain in constant
observaontomonitorthechargingprocessandreactimmediately
toanypotenalproblemsthatmayoccur.
Aerying/dischargingthebaeryyoumustallowittocoolto
ambient/roomtemperaturebeforerecharging.

TochargetheLiPobaeryyouMUSTuseonlytheincludedLiPo
balancechargerorotherdedicatedLiPobaerycharger.Failureto
dosomayresultinarecausingpropertydamageand/orpersonal
injury.DO NOT use a NiCd or NiMH charger.
Ifatanymeduringthechargeordischargeprocessthebaery
beginstoballoonorswell,disconnuechargingordischarging
immediately.Quicklyandsafelydisconnectthebaery, then place it
inasafe,openareaawayfromammablematerialstoobservefor
atleast15minutes.Connuingtochargeordischargeabaerythat
hasbeguntoballoonorswellcanresultinare.Abaerythathas
ballooned or swollen even a small amount must be removed
fromservicecompletely.
Storethebaeryatroomtemperature,approximately68–77°
Fahrenheit(F),andinadryareaforbestresults.
Whentransporngortemporarilystoringthebaery,the
temperaturerangeshouldbefromapproximately40–100°F.Donot
storethebaeryormodelinahotgarage,carordirectsunlight
whenever possible. If stored in a hot garage or car the baery can be
damaged or even catch re!
Donotover-dischargetheLiPobaery.DischargingtheLiPobaery
toolowcancausedamagetothebaeryresulnginreducedpower,
ightduraonorfailureofthebaeryenrely.
LiPo cells should not be discharged to below 3.0V each under load. In
thecaseofthe2-Cell/2S7.4VLiPobaeryusedtopowertheEthos
HD/FPV,youwillnotwanttoallowthebaerytofallbelow6.0V
duringight.
Thecontrolunithaslowvoltagecuto(LVC)protecon.Whenthe
ightbaeryvoltagedropsbelowasetpointthethrolegradually
isreduced.Atthispointthebaeryisatabout6.4Vandshouldbe
recharged.

Charging the LiPo Battery
You must charge the included 1200mAh 2-Cell/2S 7.4V 25C LiPo Baery
(AZSZ2503) using only the included AC LiPo Balance Charger (AZSZ2504) or
a suitably compable LiPo baery charger. Charging the LiPo baery using
a non-LiPo baery compable charger (such as a NiCd or NiMH baery
charger), or even a dierent LiPo baery charger with the incorrect
sengs, may result in damage to the baery or even re resulng in
property damage and/or personal injury.
PlugtheAC/DCadapterintoyourACpower(wallplug)andplugthebar-
relconnectorintotheendofthebalancecharger(AZSZ2504).TheGREEN
powerLEDwilllight.Withboththebalancechargerandtheightbaery
(AZSZ2503)placedonanon-ammablesurface,plugthebalanceplugfrom
theightbaeryintothebalanceportonthecharger.TheREDchargingLED
willlight,whentheREDchargeLEDgoesoutthechargeiscomplete.

Flying the Quadcopter
Some basic steps for a successful rst ight
• Press the Dual Rate buon on the upper right corner of the trans
mier to access Low Rate (60%).
• Slowly raise the throle ll the quadcopter rises o the ground.
• Establish a hover at about 2‐3 feet above the ground.
• Use minor throle adjustments to maintain a stable hover.
• Use the control trims to eliminate any tendency to dri.
◊ If nose of the quadcopter dris right or le adjust the
rudder trim.
◊ If the quadcopter dris forward or backward adjust the
elevator trim.
◊ If the quadcopter dris right or le adjust the aileron trim.
• When the quadcopter is properly trimmed, pracce a stable hover
using only small inputs to control the quadcopter.
• When comfortable, progress to the use of addional ight controls.
• If contact with an obstacle is imminent, reduce the throle to zero

to avoid damaging the speed controls of your quadcopter.
• If you do not lower the le‐hand/throle sck to the lowest
possible posion in the event of a crash it can result in damage to
the ESCs of the control unit which may require replacement.
Note: Crash damage is not covered under warranty

When AFM is acvated you can control
the ming and direcon of the ip
with the elevator and aileron controls on the right‐hand sck. ALSO, IT’S
VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT ONCE YOU MOVE THE RIGHT‐HAND
STICK MORE THAN APPROXIMATELY 1/2 OF THE AVAILABLE TRAVEL IN
ANY DIRECTION THE QUADCOPTER WILL AUTOMATICALLY PERFORM A
FULL 360 DEGREE FLIP IN THAT DIRECTION. AS A RESULT WE STRONGLY
RECOMMEND THAT YOU ONLY ACTIVATE AFM AFTER PLACING THE
QUADCOPTER IN THE POSITION AND AT THE ALTITUDE YOU PREFER, AND
AFTER ESTABLISHING A STATIONARY HOVER (later on you can experiment
with ‘traveling’ ips that occur during forward/backward or le/right
sideways ight but for at least the rst few ips it’s best to keep them
‘staonary’).

Memory card slot accepts
up to a 32 GB card
The Ethos FPV comes with the camera installed and plugged into the 5-in-1
control board. Screw the
antenna onto the camera
beforeyouaemptto
power up. Install the
included4GBmemory
card into the card slot on
therearofthecamera.
Thesideofthecardwith
theexposedcontactswill
befacingtheground.The
card slot is spring loaded,
pushcardallthewayin
anditwilllockinplace.Toremovepushendofcardinanditwillspringback
releasing the card.
CRITICAL
BEFORE applying power to the FPV camera you must
install the antenna. Powering up the 5.8GHz transmier in the
camera without rst installing the antenna can lead to damage
to the camera circuitry.
NEVER RUN THE FPV SYSTEM WITHOUT THE ANTENNAS INSTALLED
The FPV camera on the Ethos FPV is

included USB card reader. Insert
the card reader into the USB port
onyourcomputertoaccessthe
foldersthatcontainyourvideos
and photos. It is best to download
thelestoyourcomputerbefore
aempngtoviewthevideos.
