General and Safety Information
Profile
Please read this manual carefully to help you make the most of your phone. Aspera Mobile may change features of this mobile phone without prior written notice
and reserves the final right to interpret the performance of this mobile phone. Due to different software and network operators, display on your phone may be
different, please refer to your phone for details.
Lost Devic
If your phone has been lost or stolen, notify your network service provider as soon as possible and ask for the SIM card to be disabled (network support is
required). This can avoid economic loss caused by unauthorised use.
Safety Warning - Road safety comes first!
Do not use the mobile phone in hand-held mode while driving. Use hands-free fittings when calls are unavoidable while driving. In some countries/states, dialling
or receiving calls while driving is illegal, regardless of hands-free status. You will need to ensure you are obeying road safety laws by checking the laws of the
state/country you are driving in.

Switch off in aircraft
Wireless devices can cause interference in aircraft. Please make sure to only use your phone when switched to Aeroplane mode when in an aircraft. Go to
Settings > Network Settings and tap on Aeroplane mode to switch on/off.
Switch off before entering risk areas
Strictly observe the relevant laws, codes, and regulations on the use of mobile phones in risk areas.
Turn off your mobile phone before entering a place susceptible to an explosion, such as an oil station, oil tank, chemical plant, or a place where a blasting
process is under way.
Observe all special regulations
Follow any special regulations in force in any areas such as hospitals and always switch off your phone whenever it is forbidden to use it or when it may cause
interference or danger. Use your mobile phone carefully near medical apparatuses, such as pacemakers, hearing aids and some other electronic medical devices,
as it may cause interference to such apparatus.
Interference
The conversation quality of any mobile phone may be affected by radio interference. An antenna is built inside the mobile phone and located near the microphone.
Do not touch the antenna area during a conversation; this will cause conversation quality to deteriorate.

Qualified service
Only qualified Aspera personnel or approved agents may install and/or repair phone Aspera equipment. Installing or repairing the mobile phone and/or parts by
yourself may be dangerous and will lead to breakage of warranty terms.
Accessories and batteries
The Aspera R10 box will come with an Aspera charger. The recommended charging time for the Aspera R10 is three to four hours when the battery is low or
depleted. We recommend to not leave it charging overnight, as this may damage or deteriorate the battery over time.
Please note the device is only warranted when used with Aspera authorised cables, plugs, and batteries supplied for this device.
Headset earphones
The Aspera R10 box will include a pair of earphones. They are USB-C earphones and plug into the charge port. Ensure that the earphones are pluggedinto the
port correctly to ensure clarity in the audio, and that the audio jack is clear of any obstructions or material.
Device Temperature
The Aspera R10 can become warm when completing different operations. These operations include, but are not limited to:

Utilising the wireless and mobile data functionalities for a multitude of purposes, including but not limited to video streaming, video recording, accessing the
internet, tethering, and more.
Using the GPS function for navigation or location services
Using the device in areas with weaker and/or no reception
If the device becomes warm, we recommend closing applications that are not in use, and to let the phone cool down naturally.
Emergency calls
Ensure the phone is switched on and has service reception, enter the emergency number (e.g., 000), then press the Dial key. Give your location and state your
situation briefly and follow the instructions of service personnel. Do not end the call until told to do so.
The emergency number can be dialled with or without a sim card installed.
Precautions
This mobile phone has an intricate design, so please exercise special care when using it. The following suggestions will help your mobile phone survive the
warranty period and extend its service life:
Keep the mobile phone and all its fittings beyond young children's reach.
If exposing the phone to water or dust ensure the seals over charge port and sim tray are firmly in place.

Do not store the mobile phone in a high-temperature location. High temperature may shorten the life of electronic circuits and damage the battery and some
plastic parts.
Do not store the mobile phone in extreme cold places. This may cause moisture to form inside the mobile phone and may damage electronic circuits when the
mobile phone is moved to a constant temperature place.
Salt water is corrosive. If the phone is exposed to salt water be sure to wash the phone down after firmly closing all seals on the phone.
Getting to know your Aspera R10
1. The sim tray is placed above the On/Off button on the right of the phone. Remove the sim tray by inserting your finger nail into the slot below the tray, then
simply lever the tray out. Place the nana sim card on the tray according to the shape of the tray, then re-insert the tray into the phone.
2. The phone can take 2 nano sim cards, or one nano sim card and one SD card.
3. There is a speaker at top of the glass display, and a speaker on the back next to the rear camera.
4. Firmly close the seals on charge port and sim tray to protect from water and dust.
5. Volume controls are placed on the left side of the phone.
6. A quick launch button is placed on the left of the phone, this can be programmed using the setting menu.

7. There is a lanyard loop on the bottom left corner.
8. The USB-C charge port is also used to plug in the USB-C earphone jack.
9. The charge port is on the bottom of the phone. Lift the seal and insert the USB-C cable to charge the phone.
What's in the Box
The Aspera R10 comes with the handset, earphones, USB-C cable, charging adapter, user guide, and warranty information.
Earphones – R10 uses the USB-C port for earphone usage, allowing for audio functions including music, videos and calls. The earphones also have a
built-in microphone.
USB cable – Can be used with the wall plug to charge the phone. Can also be used to connect your device to a Windows computer for file transfers and further
functionality.
Charging adapter – Connects to a power outlet and used in conjunction with the USB-C cable to charge the phone.

Getting Started
Please make sure the Aspera R10 has charge before beginning the setup process.
Press and hold the power button for five seconds, and the phone will begin the start-up process. Let go of the power button at this stage.
After the phone has finished starting up, it will display a Welcome screen. Select the language you wish to use on the phone, then tap “Start”.
If the SIM card has not been inserted correctly, it will ask you to insert the SIM card. If there is no SIM card in the phone, you can skip this step.
You can connect to a Wi-Fi network to continue setup or skip this step if you do not wish to pursue any backup/restoring options for now.
If you do not connect to a wireless network, you will need to manually adjust date and time, and setup the device “as new” from the list of Google Services
onwards.
If you do connect to a wireless network, the phone will need to check for necessary updates, and this may take some time.
If you do decide to connect to a wireless network, you will have the option of Copying Apps & Data over to the Aspera R10.
If you decide to setup the device as new:
Select “Do Not Copy”
You can opt to sign into a Google Account, or skip this selection.
There will be a list of Google Services, you can enable or disable some of these to your choosing by tapping on the radio button. Tap “Next” to continue.

You may choose to setup a security measure, including a pattern, PIN, password, and/or fingerprint sensor.
Warning: Please keep a note of the PIN, Password, or Pattern used to lock/unlock the phone. If you lose this, you may lose access into the device due to the
security protocols of Android.
Your device is ready to be used.
If you decide to setup the device from a backup/copy:
Please ensure that you follow the on-screen prompts if you do decide to back-up from either a different device or previous copy, as the instructions will change.
Please note that you cannot restore a backup from a higher Android version into a lower Android version. The Aspera R10 runs on Android 13.

Introduction to Aspera R10
Interaction – The Aspera R10 operates mainly from interactions on the touch screen and detects finger pressure and direction to then operate the software.
Your main controls will be tapping, holding, and swiping on the screen with your fingers.
Most methods rely only on a single finger making the interaction, so beware of your other

fingers or your hands interfering with input if they are close to the edge of the device.
Lock Screen – When your phone is on standby and/or idle mode and the screen has switched off, you can wake the screen to land into the Lock Screen by
pressing the power button once.
Depending on your security settings, you may need to either Swipe upwards on the screen with one finger, input a PIN code, or input a password to pass the
Lock Screen and enter the Home Screen.
Home Screen – When your device has been unlocked, you will land onto the Home Screen, which has your application shortcuts and your primary
applications available for use.

Notification and Quick Access Panel – Used to quickly access key settings, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do not disturb and
Torch
Can be accessed by swiping one finger in a downwards motion from the top of the screen when the phone is unlocked and
on the Home Screen.
Once opened, you can quickly enable and disable these options by tapping on them once.
To go into the respective icon's advanced options, tap and hold one finger on the icon until your phone transitions to the
advanced options screen.

7. Notifications
For notifications (7), you can remove them by holding one finger on them and swiping to the left.
You can swipe one finger down again after this to bring down an advanced Panel, which has access to more settings.

The advanced panel allows you to see what the icons are and allow you to adjust brightness and further additional settings.
To access additional settings, swipe one finger from the right side of the screen to the left.
Screenshot – You can quickly take a photo of what is currently on your device screen by holding the power and volume down buttons together for three
seconds.
Alternatively, you can hold the power button for three seconds to bring up the option of taking up a screenshot on the right side of the screen.
Navigation Buttons and Task Manager – Depending on the context of the screen, you will have three buttons to use at the bottom of the screen.
The triangle, located at the bottom left, is the back button. This will take you to the previous screen you were on.
You may see this triangle shift when using a keyboard or input method. Tapping this when the triangle is pointing downwards will remove the keyboard/input
method.
The circle, located in the middle, takes you back to the Home Screen when tapped once.
Press and hold the circle button to get started with Google Assistant. Google Assistant is deeply integrated with your Android phone so you can control your apps,
your phone, and your connected home faster, using just your voice. For more information regarding Google Assistant, please visit https://assistant.google.com
The square, located in the bottom-right, opens up Android Task Manager. This allows you to open previously accessed applications, while also allowing you to
free up memory by closing applications running in the background.

You can close all applications running in the background by tapping the “Clear all” icon located at the bottom of the screen.
Applications Menu – All the applications can be accessed in the applications menu. When on the home screen, swipe your finger upwards from the
middle of the screen, taking care to not press any application shortcuts.
In this screen, you can tap an icon to open an application. To search for a particular application, tap on the “Search Apps” bar, and type in the name (or
partial name) of the application.
For further functionality in this menu regarding creating shortcuts and un-installing non-core applications, please see the section “Applications” and “
Application Shortcuts” below.

Basic Functionality
Locking and Unlocking your Device
Locking the device when not in use prevents accidental operation of the screen and preserves battery time. To lock the device:
Press the lock button on the right side of the Aspera R10 once when the screen is open and displaying images. This will switch off the screen and restrict any
inputs from being made on the screen.
To unlock the device:
Press the lock button on the right side of the Aspera R10 once to wake up the screen. Upon waking up the screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
If you have placed a PIN/password/swipe pattern as a lock, you will need to input the PIN/password/swipe pattern set to unlock the device and access the Home
Screen.
Face unlock can be used either in the locked notification screen or the lockscreen which displays pin code or pattern. You can choose how face unlock
operates in the face unlock settings page.
The phone screen will automatically shut off after 30 seconds of in-activity. To change this time, please proceed to section “Display”.
Notifications
Notifications will appear on the screen when turning on the screen, alerting you to any potential changes to your device and/or applications.
You can interact with these notifications from here by tapping on them twice.
To clear a notification, hold one finger on the notification, and slide right.
When the device is unlocked, you can access your notifications within the Notification and Quick Access Panel. Please see the above-mentioned section
for instructions.

Applications
Your Aspera R10 will come with many applications installed, many of them critical for the functionality of the phone. We ask that you do not disable or uninstall
them, as they may be critical for the device to perform as expected.
If you wish to uninstall and/or disable certain applications, please contact our customer support to see whether they are integral to the functionality of your device.
To install applications:
You will need to use the Play Store to install additional applications. You can find instructions in the section titled “Installing and Updating Applications” below.
To delete applications you have installed:
Unlock the phone and open the Applications menu.
Tap and hold with one finger over the application you wish to delete. Extra options will appear.
Keep holding this finger on the application and drag it near the top of the screen. An option called “Uninstall” will appear near the top right-hand side of the screen.
Drag the application into the “Uninstall” space and lift your finger off the screen.
A prompt will appear and ask if you wish to uninstall the application selected. To proceed, tap the “OK” option.
