Setting up
Ensure a secure position of the device. Start the devices by pressing
the key.
Leakage test
Start the device by pressing the key
A leakage test is performed automatically.
To do this close the coupling on the end of the hose system.
If the leakage test was successful „Leakage test OK“ appears
on the display. By pressing the key you can go back to the main
menu.
Only exit this menu when you wish to start the therapy.
Once the main screen appears the alarm system is activated.
When the SD card is already inserted during startup, then the display
indicator is on the left.
by pressing the button you can continue recording or start a
new recording.

Uncoupling of the device may only be performed after pinching off the hose
and if a target value of 15 mbar is reached.
Exchange the canister at the latest when a fi lling level of 1900 ml is reached.
 Briefl y press the I/O key, the pump stops.
 Press the release button and swivel the canister system forward until the canister
can be easily removed from its guides.
 Disconnect the canister from the hose system and the secretion channel. Seal the
secretion channel and the pop off valve with the protective caps.
 There is no need to seal the connection to the device because the bacterial fi lter is
covered with a self-sealing coating.
 Dispose of canister correctly.
 Insert the new canister.
 Start up the pump by pressing the I/O key.
 Reopen the clamp at the suction hose.
Connection of
hose system 1. Remove the sterile hose system from the sterile packaging.
2. Attach the hose connection with the bacterial fi lter to the lower connection (on the
canister) by clockwise rotation.
3. Connect the Luer-Lock connection (large diameter) to the upper connection (of the
canister) by clockwise rotation.

Warnings
Display Cause of defect Troubleshooting
If the fi nal vacuum cannot be reached an
acoustic and optical alarm is released and
„vacuum low“ is displayed. Possible cause for this
error message: Leakage, blocked bacterial fi lter,
blockage in the measuring channel or secretion
in the pump.
Check connections and hoses.
When an excessive vacuum is measured the
„vaccuum high“ alarm is activated (acoustic and
optical).
Check the hose system.
In case the battery voltage falls below a certain
value the alarm signal (acoustic and optical) for
„battery low“ is activated.
Connect the device to the mains,
battery is recharged and charging
condition is displayed.
The information that the system is blocked is
activated.
Check the hose and in case the fi lter
is blocked, exchange the canister
and the fi lter.

Filling the water lock
During normal operation the fi lling of the water lock is optional.
To fi ll the water lock a sterile cannula 20 G, a sterile syringe and 50 ml sterile
water are required. Take the cannula and puncture the silicone seal above the riser and
then fi ll the water lock until the 2 cm fi lling mark is reached.
The canister may only be removed when the pump is switched off .

In the grafi c display the course of therapy can be represented graphically.
With the key you can switch over between Flow, Time and Vac.
The activated dimension is coloured.
With the keys , settings can be adjusted
• Flow scale: scalable between 0-1 & 0-20 l/min, start setting 0-1 l/min
• Time scale: scalable between 0-30 min and 0-12 Tagen in 9 steps,
start setting 0-30 min
• Vacuum scale: scalable between 0-10 & 0-100 mbar,
start setting 0-100 mbar

After switching on the device the key lock is automatically activated if no key is operated within
the preselected period (factory setting: 5 min).
For manual activation of the key lock, please press keys simultaneously until the
symbol is displayed on the screen.
For deactivation, please press the buttons simultaneously until the symbol
is no longer displayed on the screen.
