Operating
At thefront platethereis thepowerbutton to switchon and off the
‘PAM V2’. Using theknob attheright of thefront platelabeled‘GAIN’
you select thegain to 38dB, 48dB, 58dB or 68dB (deziBel).
Theselected gain is indicated by theLEDs in themiddleof thefront.
Most MM pick-ups (moving magnet) needagain of 38dB, whileMC
systems(moving coil) usually requiregains of 58dB or 68dB. Also avail-
able‘high output MC’ systemsmostly will work properly with 48dB
gain. Pleasetry out individual setting for your pick-up.
Aknob labeled‘input imp.’ is to befound atthebackof the‘PAM V2’
for selecting theterminating resistance to your pick-up. Pleaseselect
carefully. It will effecthigh frequencyresponse.Using MM systemsse-
lectimp.=47kW.MC systemsmayneedresistance ranging from
imp.=100Wto 1kW.
In caseof any otherresistance or capacitance neededby your pick-up
pleasereferto page8 for furtherinstructions how to setup theappropri-
atevalues using thesockets labeled C/Rext.
Theactivestructureof your ‘PAM V2’ is equippedwith two DC voltage
servos thatbuild up aninternalsecond ordersubsonicfilterwith acut off
