Aspect is engineered for easy assembly. Carefully follow this procedure
to prevent any damage.
Do not use power tools for assembly of this product.
Placement and Maintenance
Aspect is designed for indoor use on level floors. Clean steel parts and
wood veneer with a moist cloth.
Step 1
Unpack and Identify
Unpack and identify the components at left. Note that some
components are shipped inside the desk. The assembly workspace
should be a non-marring surface such as carpet. For missing hardware
pieces, please contact BDI Customer Service at customerservice@
bdiusa.com. For all other concerns, please contact your BDI Retailer.
Step 2
Remove Cardboard Corner Protectors (K) from packaging then
remove Desk (G) and remaining contents.

Step 3
Carefully rest the Desk (G) safely on its back, then slightly loosen screws of
Base Stretcher (K).
Step 4
Insert Legs (H) into the Base Stretcher (K) ensuring the holes on the tabs in
Legs (H) align with the holes of the Base Stretcher (K), as shown in Fig.1.
Step 5
Attach Legs (H) to Desk (G) and Base Stretcher (K) using Screws (C), as
shown in Fig. 2. Using the 4mm Hex Wrench (B), tighten all screws.

CAUTON: FOLLOW THIS STEP CAREFULLY TO AVOID DAMAGE TO
YOUR FLOOR.
Step 6
Place 2 of the 4 Cardboard Corner Protectors (K) from packaging under-
neath the installed desk Legs (H). With the help of another person, carefully tip
cabinet upright onto Legs (H). Slide Cardboard Corner Protectors (K) out
from underneath desk Legs (H).
Step 7
Install Pulls (E and F) onto the Desk using Screws (D). The work surface
can be accessed by pulling on the underside of the main drawer body.

Step 8
Optional - Install File Bars
Legal File Folders can be installed in the lateral drawer front-to-back without installing
File Bars. If users wish to install Letter or A4 File Folder front to back, install Large File
Bracket (I) by lowering bracket onto drawer sides (see Fig. 8.1).
If users wish to install File Folder side to side, install Small File Brackets (J) by lowering
brackets onto drawer front and back (see Fig. 8.2)
All desk drawers are pre-assembled with matching locks. If you require unique
locks for your home or office use, please contact BDI Customer Service at
[email protected] to purchase a unique lock and key replacement
kit which includes a lock core, two locking keys and a core removal key. To
replace the lock please follow the instructions below.
Optional - Lock Removal and Installation
1. Using locking key, turn lock fully clockwise.
2. Remove locking key and insert core removal key into the lock.
3. Pull lock core straight out from cylinder body using core removal key.
5. Insert new lock core into cylinder body until the lock core is completely in the
cylinder body and pull core removal key out.
