1. About Shiatsu massage
Shiatsu is a form of body massage which was originally developed in Japan around 100 years ago. It is
based on ideas anchored in traditional Chinese medicine, in particular the meridian system, i.e. the paths in
the human body along which energy is conveyed.
The aim of any Shiatsu massage is to promote the physical, emotional and mental wellbeing of the person
being treated. To do this, energy blocks and bottlenecks in the meridians need to be dissolved and the self-
regulating ability of the body needs to be stimulated.
Shiatsu therapists achieve this by exercising pressure in flowing movements along the meridians. Although
Shiatsu can be literally translated as “finger pressure”, practitioners also use the heels of their hands, their
elbows and knees as well as their fingers. In the process, the therapist will use his or her full body weight in
order to generate the required pressure.
2. Getting to know your appliance
The massage heads in your Shiatsu massager imitate the pressure and kneading movements of a Shiatsu
massage. This device with its moving massage heads provides a powerful and intense deep massage for

The device is only for private use and is not intended for medical or commercial purposes.

CAUTION
•
IMPORTANT: Before using the device for the first time, ensure you have released all transport
locks on the massage mechanism. To do this, remove the screws using the tool provided on
the rear of the seat cover. If the transport lock screws are not removed first and the Shiatsu
seat cover is used immediately, the device will become irreparably damaged and unusable.
The warranty will not apply in this instance.
•
Reuse the transport lock screws when transporting the device in the future. Transporting the device
without using the transport locks could cause irreparable damage to the device.
•
Position the seat cover upright on a suitable seat with a sitting area and backrest (chair, sofa or
similar). Make sure that the seat has a sufficiently high backrest.
•
You can achieve the most comfortable massage position on a chair with an upright back.
•
Use the flexible fastening straps and hook-and-loop fasteners to secure the Shiatsu seat cover.
•
Connect the device to the mains by plugging the plug into the socket.
7. Operation
Press your back against the massager in an upright posture. The upright posture is necessary to enable ac-
curate scanning of your back. The body scanning function is used for this and determines the size of the user.
The massage must be pleasant and relaxing at all times. Stop the massage or change your position or the
contact pressure if you find it is painful or unpleasant.
•
Do not force or jam any part of your body, in particular your fingers, between the moving massage elements
or their holders in the device.
•
Sit comfortably and upright on the seat cover. Ensure you sit centered and such that the massage heads
can move to the left and right of your spinal column.
•
Switch on the massager with the button. The body scanning LED display flashes while your back is
being scanned. After scanning, the relax massage program is activated.
The LEDs signal the massage functions which are currently selected.
•
The automatic switch-off function is activated with selection of the massage region and is preset to 15 min-
utes. You can set the automatic switch-off function to 5, 10 or 15 minutes by pressing the timer button.
Please note that changing the timer setting makes the timer start to count again from the beginning. To
avoid overheating the device, select the maximum massage duration at the beginning of the massage and
do not change it again during the massage.
You can specify the settings as follows:
1. Automatic massage programs
Press the relax, refresh or therapy button.
relax program:
A combination of swing and rolling massage massages your back and neck area.
refresh program:
A combination of Shiatsu and rolling massage massages your back and neck area.
therapy program:
A combination of Shiatsu, rolling and swing massage massages your back and neck area.
2. Shiatsu back and neck massage
Press the shiatsu button. Then use the full, back or neck button to select the desired massage area.
3. Swing back and neck massage
Press the swing button. Then use the full, back or neck button to select the desired massage area.
You can use the spot button to select a spot massage, i.e. Shiatsu and swing massage without vertical
movement. You can change the position of the spot massage by holding down one of the arrows next to
the spot button until the desired position is reached.

15
4. Rolling massage
Press the rolling button. Then use the full, back or neck button to select the desired massage area.
During the rolling massage you can use the width button to select the distance between the massage
rollers.
If you change the massage type (Shiatsu, swing or rolling massage) the area that was previously selected
is retained. Please note that when you change from spot Shiatsu or swing massage to rolling massage,
you have to select the massage area again.
Note
•
Rolling massage and spot massage cannot be selected at the same time.
5. Heating function
Press the heat [15] button to switch on the heating function of the massage heads. The massage heads
light up red at this time.
• Do not use the massage device for longer than 15 minutes and then allow it to cool. Using the device
for longer can over-stimulate the muscles and cause tension instead of relaxation. The massage can be
finished at any time by pressing the button. Please note that on switching off, the massage heads first
return to the starting position at the lumbar region. This is indicated by the LED flashing. Once this position
is reached, the device switches off.
• If the device is stopped be pressing a massage area button twice, it also returns to the starting position
after 15 minutes and then switches off.
• Do not disconnect the device from the mains supply during operation. Always switch it off first and wait
until it has returned to the initial position.
Note
• The device has an automatic shut-off mechanism set to a maximum operating period of 15 minutes.
8. Care and storage

WARNING
• Disconnect the device before cleaning it.
• Only clean the appliance in the manner specified. Fluid must never be allowed to enter into the
device or accessories.

Smaller stains can be removed using a cloth or moist sponge together with a little liquid detergent
for delicate fabrics if necessary. Do not use any cleaning agents containing solvents.

on the label sewn into the cover.

Ensure that you use a stable clothes hanger made from wood that is able to carry the weight of the device.
