1 Description and Purpose
2 Construction
The Multiex foot and ankle provide the user
with comfortable multi-axial motion, which
enhances stability. The low prole design
with sandal toe gives the foot a more natural
appearance.
Application
These instructions are for the practitioner.
The Multiex foot is to be used exclusively as
part of a lower limb prosthesis with a Multiex
ankle
Activity Level
This device is recommended for Activity Level
1–2 users.
There are exceptions to our recommendations
and we want to allow for individual
circumstances. There may be Activity Level
3–4* users who may benet from this product,
but this decision should be made with sound
and thorough justication.
*Maximum user weight: 100 kg (220 lb).
Contra-indications
This device may not be suitable for use in
competitive sports events. This type of user
may be better served by a specially designed
prosthesis optimized for their needs.
Intended for single user.
Make sure that the user has understood
all instructions for use, drawing particular
attention to section 4 regarding maintenance.
Appropriate footwear must be worn to
avoid slipping in wet environments.

The Multiex foot combines with a resilient multi-axial Multiex ankle to give a smooth, stable
walking action and allow some compliance to uneven surfaces. The Multiex foot comprises
a lightweight, ber reinforced thermoplastic keel which gives a gentle rolling action through
stance and features a sandal toe for a more natural appearance—ideal for lower level activity
users. A range of heel heights can be accommodated via the serrated ankle interface. Multiex
Slim features additional heel height capacity for a higher heel.
Intended Life
A local risk assessment should be carried out based upon activity and usage.
Lifting Loads
User weight and activity is governed by the stated limits. Load carrying by the user should be
based on a local risk assessment.
Environment
Avoid exposing the Multiex foot to corrosive elements such as water, acids and other liquids.
Avoid abrasive environments such as those containing sand, as these may promote premature
wear.
Exclusively for use between -15 ˚C and 50 ˚C (5 ˚F and 122 ˚F).
We recommend using Blatchford products with this device.
Maintenance must be carried out by competent personnel.
It is recommended that the following maintenance is carried out annually:
• Check the foot bolt for tightness
Advise users to report the following to their medical practitioner:
• Changes in body weight or activity level
• Changes in the performance of this device, for example:
• Unusual noises or play
Cleaning
Use a damp cloth and mild soap to clean outside surfaces. Do not use aggressive cleansers.

Line
6.1 Static Alignment
With the exion accommodated the build line
should pass through the center of the socket
in the sagittal (A–P) plane and through the
Multiex foot, as shown. Heel height of the
shoe should be accommodated.
6.2 Dynamic Alignment
Coronal Plane
Make sure that M–L thrust is minimal by
adjusting relative positions of socket and foot.
Sagittal Plane
Check for smooth transition from heel strike to
toe-o. Also, make sure that when standing,
the heel and toe are evenly loaded and that
both are touching the oor.
Allow for the user’s
own footwear
Align trans-femoral devices according to tting
instructions supplied with the knee, keeping
the build line relative to the Multiex ankle, as
shown.

Check that the serrations are engaged
before tightening the foot bolt.
Incorrectly engaged serrations can cause
noise, looseness, and the eventual failure
of the foot bolt.

Warranty
The Multiex foot is warranted for 24 months.
The user should be aware that changes or modications not expressly approved could void the
warranty, operating licences and exemptions.

l’orthoprothésiste.
Le pied Multiex doit être utilisé dans le cadre
d’une prothèse de membre inférieur avec une
cheville Multiex.
Niveau d’activité
Cet appareillage est destiné aux patients ayant
un niveau d'activité de 1 à 2.
Il existe des exceptions et nos
recommandations tiennent compte de
circonstances uniques et spéciques: certains
patients de niveau d'activité3–4* peuvent
proter de cet appareillage, mais cette
décision doit être prise après une justication
solide et complète.
*Poids maximal de l'utilisateur: 100kg.
Contre-indications
Ce dispositif peut ne pas convenir aux patients
participant à des manifestations sportives
de compétition, car ces utilisateurs seront
mieux servis par une prothèse spéciquement
conçue et optimisée pour leurs besoins.

Veiller à ce que l’utilisateur ait bien compris

Le pied Multiex associé à une cheville multiaxiale Multiex délivre un mouvement de marche
uide et stable et assure une certaine adaptabilité sur terrain inégal. Le pied Multiex se
compose d'une âme légère en thermoplastique renforcé de bre qui assure un déroulement
en douceur pendant la phase d'appui et d'un avant pied avec orteil séparé pour un aspect plus
naturel, ce qui est idéal pour les utilisateurs de niveau d'activité modéré.
Diérentes hauteurs de talon sont ajustables à l'aide de l'interface crantée de la cheville.
Le pied Multiex Femme comporte une cambrure diérente pour une hauteur de talon plus
importante.

Une évaluation locale des risques doit être entreprise en fonction de l'activité et de l'utilisation.
Port de charges
Le poids et l’activité de l’utilisateur sont régis par les limites spéciées. La charge portée par
l’utilisateur doit se baser sur une évaluation locale des risques.
Environnement
Éviter d’exposer le Pied Multiex à des éléments corrosifs tels que l’eau, des acides et autres
liquides. Éviter les environnements abrasifs tels que ceux comportant du sable, car cela peut
favoriser une usure prématurée.
Utiliser exclusivement entre -15˚C et 50˚C.
Il est conseillé d’utiliser uniquement des produits de marque Blatchford avec ce produit.
L’entretien doit être eectué par du personnel qualié.
Il est conseillé d’eectuer un entretien tous les ans.

Axe de

6.1 Alignement statique
Quand la exion est réglée, l'axe de
construction doit passer par le centre de
l'emboîture dans le plan sagittal (A–P) et au
travers du pied Multiex, comme illustré.
La hauteur de talon doit être ajustée en
conséquence.
6.2 Alignement dynamique
Plan frontal
Veillez à ce que la poussée M–L soit minimale,
en ajustant les positions relatives de
l'emboîture et du pied.
Plan sagittal
Vérier que la transition entre l’attaque du
talon et la phase d’élan soit souple. En outre,
vérier que la charge est uniformément
répartie entre le talon et les orteils pendant
la phase d'appui, et que les deux parties
touchent le sol.
Prendre en compte les
chaussures de l’utilisateur
Aligner les dispositifs trans-fémoraux
conformément aux instructions de montage
fournies avec le genou, en conservant l'axe de
construction par rapport à la cheville Multiex,

Der Multiex-Fuß ist ausschließlich als Teil
einer Prothese der unteren Extremitäten
einzusetzen.
Mobilitätsklasse
Diese Prothese wird für Anwender der
Mobilitätsklassen 1–2 empfohlen.
Es gibt Ausnahmen und wir möchten bei
unseren Empfehlungen die individuellen
Umstände berücksichtigen – so gibt
es möglicherweise Anwender der
Mobilitätsklasse 3–4*, die von diesem Produkt
protieren könnten, jedoch sollte diese
Entscheidung ausreichend begründet sein.

Kontraindikationen
Dieses Produkt ist nicht für
Leistungssportarten geeignet, da solche
Anwender eine speziell auf ihre Bedürfnisse
entwickelte Prothese benutzen sollten.

Der Multiex-Fuß wird mit einem multiaxial beweglichen Knöchelgelenk kombiniert, um ein
gleichmäßiges und stabiles Gehen sowie eine gewisse Anpassung an unebenen Untergrund
zu ermöglichen. Der Multiex besteht aus einem leichten Federkern aus faserverstärktem
Thermoplast, der ein harmonisches Abrollen in der Standphase ermöglicht und mit einer
geteilten Zehe für Sandalen ein natürlicheres Aussehen bietet – ideal geeignet für Anwender mit
einer niedrigen Mobilitätsklasse.
Die gezackte Knöchelgelenks-Verbindungsäche ermöglicht eine Anpassung an verschiedene
Absatzhöhen.
Multiex Slim bietet eine erweiterte Möglichkeit für eine höhere Absatzanpassung.
Empfohlene Nutzungsdauer
Basierend auf Mobilität und Nutzung sollte eine lokale Risikoeinschätzung durchgeführt werden.
Tragen von Lasten
Körpergewicht und Mobilität des Anwenders werden durch die angegebenen Begrenzungen
reguliert. Das Heben von Lasten durch den Anwender sollte auf einer lokalen Risikoeinschätzung
basieren.
Umwelt
Vermeiden Sie den Kontakt des Multiex-Fuß mit korrosiven Stoen wie Wasser, Säure und
anderen Flüssigkeiten. Vermeiden Sie aggressive Umgebungen wie solche mit Sand, da diese zu
einer vorzeitigen Abnutzung führen können.
Nur zur Verwendung bei Temperaturen zwischen -15°C und 50°C.
Wir empfehlen den ausschließlichen Einsatz von Blatchford-Produkten in Verbindung mit diesem
Produkt.
Die Wartung muss vom Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden.
Die jährliche Wartung wird wie folgt empfohlen:
• Prüfen Sie, ob die Fußschraube festgezogen ist
Der Anwender sollte dem Fachpersonal unverzüglich folgendes mitteilen:

Lotlinie
6.1 Statischer Aufbau
Unter Berücksichtigung der Stumpexion
sollte die Lotlinie durch den Mittelpunkt des
Schaftes in der Sagittalebene (A–P) und durch
den Multiex-Fuß laufen. Die Absatzhöhe des
Schuhs sollte angepasst werden.
6.2 Dynamischer Aufbau
Frontalebene
Stellen Sie sicher, dass die M–L Belastung
durch die Positionierung des Schaftes und des
Fußes minimiert wird.
Sagittalebene
Prüfen Sie, dass der Übergang vom
Fersenauftritt zum Zehenabstoß gleichmäßig
erfolgt. Achten Sie auch darauf, dass Absatz
und Zeh beim Stehen gleichmäßig belastet
sind und dass beide den Boden berühren.
Berücksichtigen Sie die Absatzhöhe
der Schuhe des Anwenders
Richten Sie die transfemoralen Komponenten
entsprechend der Gebrauchsanleitung,
die mit dem Knie geliefert wird, aus.
Bringen Sie die Belastungslinie mit der des
Multiex-Knöchelgelenks wie abgebildet in
Übereinstimmung.

Überprüfen Sie, ob die gezackten
Oberächen miteinander verrastet sind,
bevor Sie die Fußschraube festziehen.
Eine falsch eingerastete Kerbverzahnung
kann zu Geräuschen, Lockerheit und
eventuellen Funktionsverlust der
Fußschraube führen.
