Alarm Control Panel DS3MX-E-U
User Guide
1.0 Arming the System
Enter your personal identification number (PIN) and
press [On].
Figure 1: Alarm Control Panel
Enter a Master PIN code or a User PIN code. Press
the [On] key. If the code was entered correctly, the
red Armed indicator flashes and the system arms.
If your system has an exit delay zone, the sounder
beeps during the exit period. The exit sounder beeps
faster during the last 20 seconds of the programmed
exit delay time.
After the exit delay time expires, the red Armed
indicator glows continuously. A violation on a zone,
not programmed as a delay zone, immediately
activates a system alarm.
2.0 Disarming the System
Enter PIN, press [Off]
Enter a Master PIN code or a User PIN code. Press
the [Off] key. If a delay zone is triggered first, a code
must be entered before the expiration of the entry
delay time.
The red Armed indicator LED stops flashing and turns
off, indicating the system is disarmed.
3.0 Quick Arm
Press the [On] key for 3 seconds
If your system is programmed by the installer to allow
Quick Arm, hold the [On] key down for 3 seconds to
start the arming mode. Disarming requires entering a
User code (PIN) followed by pressing the [Off] key.
4.0 Cancel Alarm
Enter PIN, press [Off]
Enter a Master PIN code or a User PIN code and
press the [Off] key to immediately stop the alarm
output.
5.0 Panic Key
[*][#]
Your system must be programmed at
installation to use this function.
During an emergency, simultaneously pressing the [*]
and [#] keys for 3 seconds produces an alarm.
Entering a User code resets the panic alarm condition.
6.0 Alarm History Clear
Press the [#] key for 3 seconds
While in the disarmed mode, press the [#] key for 3
seconds to cancel all flashing alarm history zone
indicators.
If an alarm occurs while the system is armed, the
zone’s LED glows continuously. When the system is
disarmed, the zone causing the alarm flashes its LED
indicator. While in the disarmed mode, pressing the
[#] key for 3 seconds resets the indicator.

7.0 Bypassing a Zone
Enter PIN, press [Bypass], enter the zone
number, and press [On]
A user can bypass a zone during the arming
sequence if it was programmed at installation to
allow bypass. You can bypass a zone if the zone is
either faulted or normal. To bypass a zone, enter
the User code or the Master code. Press the
[Bypass] key. Enter the zone number to bypass
(such as, Zone 1, Zone 2, or Zone 3, or any
combination of Zones 1, 2, or 3).
For example: To enter Zone 1, press the [1] key,
then press the [On] key to begin the arming cycle
and exit delay, if programmed. All zones that were
bypassed will clear and automatically restore to
their normal mode the next time the system
disarms.
Once a zone is bypassed, the zone’s LED indicates
its bypass status by flashing twice every 2 seconds.
8.0 Fire Alarm Reset
Enter PIN, press [Reset]
Use the Fire Reset for power interrupt and to reset
the smoke detectors. This function must be installed
and programmed at installation. Only the Master
code user can perform this function.
9.0 Door Un-Lock Code
Enter PIN, press [*]
If enabled, entering the Door Un-Lock User code
and pressing the [*] key activates the Request to
Exit function, releasing any connected door lock.
