SETTINGTHETIME
When the small second hand (3) is on “0” seconds, pull out the crown (C) to position
(2) to stop the watch.
Tu rn the crown to adjust the hands to the correct time.
Restart the watch by pushing the crown back to position (0).

Rotate the crown anticlockwise until the required date appears.
* Do not set the date between 9.00 p.m. and 1.00 a.m. in that it is during this period
that the automatic date change mechanism is active and may be damaged.

If the hands of the chronograph do not return to the "0" position when the
chronograph is reset:

Pull the crown out to position (2).
Press button to move the second hand of the CHR to the “0” position.
Set the watch to the correct time.
Push the crown back to position “0”.
Press button to reset the CHR minute hand and hour hand to “0”.
CHRONOGRAPH OPERATION
With the crown in its normal position.
The chronograph can measure up to 12 hours in one second intervals.

The tachymeter is used to measure the speed of an automobile.
By knowing how many seconds it takes for the vehicle to travel
one kilometre, the tachymeter can measure the approximate
average speed in km/h during a journey (over a maximum
measurable time of 60 seconds).
If the chronograph is started at the same time as the start of the
distance measurement and stopped after one kilometre, the
average speed can be calculated from the position of the second
hand. If the vehicle covers a distance of one kilometre in 45
seconds, then the average approximate speed is 80 km/h.
The telemeter is a distance indicator which allows distance to
be calculated on the basis of the speed of sound. It is useful,
therefore, for aviation, navy, army and artillery purposes. It can
also measure how far away a thunderstorm is.
The hand is started the second a flash, smoke or lightning is
seen and stopped when the actual sound is heard.The
distance, from 1 to 20 kilometres, between the observer and
the explosion or storm is read from the telemetry scale.

In order to prevent water coming into contact with the internal mechanism, never pull
the crown out when the watch is wet.
If any watches designed for sportswear or use in water come into contact with salt
water or heavy sweating, they should be rinsed in fresh water and dried thoroughly.
Contact with water may cause a deterioration in the quality of some leather straps.

As the internal parts of the watch can retain moisture, when the outside
temperature is lower than the inside, the watch glass may mist-up.This
phenomenon is purely temporary and should not create any problems. However, if
it persists for any length of time, the watch should be checked by the shop where
it was purchased or by the nearest Authorised Service Centre.

Temperature
Do not leave the watch exposed to direct sunlight or temperature extremes for long
periods of time.
Long exposure, in fact, may adversely affect the operation of the watch and actually
shorten battery life, causing it to gain or lose time and affect its other functions.
Impact
This watch can withstand normal everyday impacts and shocks and those normally
imparted by non-contact sports such as golf and baseball. Serious damage, however,
may result if the watch is dropped or subjected to severe shock.
Magnetic fields
This watch is antimagnetic up to 60 gauss, and is therefore not affected by magnetic
fields produced by normal domestic appliances. If used near strong magnetic fields, its
operation may be temporarily affected.
Static electricity
The integrated circuits present inside the watch are sensitive to static electricity. If the
watch is exposed to intense electrical fields, the time display may temporarily lose some
of its accuracy.
Chemicals and gases
Avoid wearing the watch in the presence of strong gases or chemical substances.
Par ts of the watch may discolour, dissolve or even break if brought into contact with
benzol or petroleum based products such as solvents, thinners, detergents,
adhesives etc.

Periodic inspection
In order to guarantee long trouble-free operation, it is advisable to have the watch
checked by an authorised assistance centre once every 12 months or two years.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children
If a battery is accidentally swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Metal bands: Use a toothbrush and soapy warm water to wash the dirt off.
Plastic or rubber straps: Wash with water. Do not use solvents.
Leather straps: Gently rub the face of the strap using a soft dry cloth. Clean the
opposite side with a cloth and alcohol.
Pay special attention to avoiding contact with chemicals.
The watch case and strap may discolour if they come into contact with mercury from a
broken thermometer or other equipment.
Keeping the watch clean
Use an absorbent soft cloth to clean off any dirt or damp from the watch glass.Wearing
the watch when the strap or back of the case is dirty can cause skin irritation. Keeping
the watch clean also keeps shirt cuffs clean.

COMMENT REGLER L'HEURE
En extrayant la couronne (C) en position 2, arrêter la montre au moment où la petite
aiguille des secondes (3) se trouve sur 0 sec.
Faire tourner la couronne pour placer les aiguilles sur l'heure désirée.
Remettre la montre en marche en replaçant la couronne (pos. 0).

COMMENT ENREGISTRER LA DATE
Tirer sur la couronne (C) de façon à la placer en position (1).
Faire tourner la couronne dans le sens contraire des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'à ce
que la date souhaitée apparaisse.
* Eviter d'enregistrer la date entre 21.00 heures et 1.00 heure du matin car, le système
de changement automatique du jour étant déjà activé, des problèmes de
fonctionnement pourraient surgir.
Replacer la couronne sur la position (0).

Tirer sur la couronne jusqu'à la position (2).
Appuyer sur le bouton pour placer les aiguilles des secondes du CHR sur
la position “0”.
Régler la montre sur l'heure courante.
Replacer la couronne sur la position (0).
Appuyer sur le bouton pour replacer les aiguilles du CHR des minutes et des
heures sur la position “0”.
FONCTIONNEMENT DU CHRONOGRAPHE
La couronne est en position normale. Le chronographe peut enregistrer jusqu'à 12
heures en fractions d'une seconde.

Le tachymètre est un instrument qui mesure la vitesse d'une
automobile.En sachant en combien de secondes une voiture
couvre une distance d'un kilomètre, le tachymètre peut
mesurer la vitesse horaire moyenne approximative pendant un
voyage (jusqu'à un maximum de 60 secondes).
Si le chronographe est en même temps mis en marche puis
arrêté à un kilomètre, la vitesse moyenne horaire peut être
déterminée en fonction de la position de l'aiguille des
secondes.Si la voiture couvre la distance d'un kilomètre en 45
secondes, la vitesse moyenne approximative sera de 80 km/h.
Le télémètre, indicateur des distances, permet le calcul des
distances en fonction de la vitesse du son. Il est donc utile
dans l'aviation, dans la marine, dans l'armée et dans l'artillerie.
Il indique également à quelle distance se trouve un orage. Si
l'on fait partir l'aiguille au moment où l'on aperçoit une flamme,
de la fumée, ou un éclair et si on l'arrête au moment où l'on
entend le son, on aura l'indication de la distance entre le lieu
où a eu lieu l'explosion ou bien où est tombée la foudre et le
point d'observation. Cette lecture sera effectuée sur l'échelle
télémétrique spéciale qui porte des indications de 1 à 20 km.

Pour éviter que l'eau entre dans le mécanisme interne de la montre, la couronne ne
doit jamais être extraite quand la montre est mouillée.
Si les montres conçues pour le sport ou pour fonctionner sous l'eau sont exposées à
l'eau salée ou à une sueur abondante, elles doivent être rincées à l'eau douce puis
complètement essuyées.
Dans certains cas, l'eau peut provoquer un endommagement de la qualité de
certains bracelets en cuir.
