1. Remove the centre grids from the Boma fry plate (2 parts)
2. Tighten each grid extender using the wing nuts provided. They should be
positioned near the centre of each side of the fry plate, as depicted in the
drawing. Ensure that this is tightened very well.
3. Reinsert the Centre Grids on top of the Grid Extenders. The Steel will expand
when hot, binding the extenders against the edge of the centre grids. For a Potjie
keep the circular centre grid out and place your potjie pot in the recess provided.
USING & CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
•For Best results ensure that the Boma Braai installed on a perfectly level
serface, as this ensures correct run-o of excess fats during cooking.
(Heated fats will always run toward the lowest edge)
•Before undertaking any cleaning or maintenance work on the Boma Braai,
ensure that it has had time to cool down to a safe temperature.
•Remove the Grid Extenders, clean, oil and keep in a dry place once done
cooking.
•Cover your Boma up with the Stainless Steel Lid once cleaning and oiling is
complete to preserve it further.
•Besides normal cleaning required after use, it is advised that you ‘season’ the
cooking surface and Grid Extenders with a thin layer of cooking oil shortly
after use, to prevent oxidation on the cooking surface.
•It is highly recommended that you check the cooking surface and Grid
Extenders for oxidation often, and apply regular maintenance, to prolong the
lifespan of your beloved Boma Braai.
•Avoid contact with aggressive chemicals.
•Don’t Use oven cleaners.
•Don’t store any chemicals (especially pool chemicals) close to your braai.
