Please read theentire instruction manual before using theproduct and then save
it for future reference. Wereserve theright for any errors in text or images and any
necessary changes made to technicaldata. Ifyou have any questions concerning
technical problems please contact our Customer Services.
Safety
• Warning: Donot use ear defenders whilst driving avehicle in traffic, it can affect
your concentration and lead to anaccident. Remember to always remove theear
defenders when cycling, walking, crossing roads, at railway crossings, or in other
situations requiring your full attention.
• Radio reception can vary depending on your location, movements, terrain,
obstacles,etc.
• Radio reception is sensitive to electrical devices being turned on and off and this
will be audible if you are nearby such devices.
• Do not attempt to dismantle or repair theproduct, it contains no parts that can be
repaired or adjusted.
• Never subject theproduct to high temperature, dust, heavy vibration, impacts,
humidity or moisture. Bearin mind that acar left in thesummer sun can
become veryhot. Neverleave theproduct where it could be subjected to high
temperatures or direct sunlight, such as on acar dashboard or windowsill.
Therecommended storage temperature of theproduct is −20 to +45ºC.
• Heat can impair theperformance of theradio built into theear defenders.
• Remove thebatteries from theear defenders if they are not to be used for
anextended period. Remove spent batteries. Neverlet them sit in thebattery
compartment.
• Before use, make sure that theear cushions are whole and form atight seal
against yourhead.
• Never use theproduct in extremely dry environments where static electricity easily occurs.
• Use theear defenders theentire time that you are exposed to anoisy environment.

Adjusting thefit
1. Brush any hair off your ears, remove any earrings, pull theear
cups apart and place them over yourears.
2. Position theear cups so that thecushions form atight
seal aroundears. Makesure that no hair comes between
thecushions and yourhead.
3. Adjust theheadband. Holdtheheadband down against your
head with one hand and push theear cups up until they sit
comfortably over yourears.
4. Theheadband should rest on thetop of your head and
theear cups should completely cover yourears.
Note: Theeffectiveness of theear defenders could be diminished
by thetemples of spectacles if they are worn under theearcups.

Inserting thebatterypack
1. Make sure that the [OFF/ON] switch is set to
OFF (anticlockwise).
2. Remove thebattery cover (10) and insert
theincluded battery pack into thebattery
compartment (if it is not already fitted).
Thebattery connector only fits one way, make
sure that it is aligned correctly. Plugthebattery
connector (12) into thebattery connection socket
(16). Refitthebatterycover.
Thebattery pack’s charge level status will be
indicated as apercentage in theupper right corner
of thedisplay. Itis time to recharge thebattery pack
when thestatus is down to 40%.
When thebattery pack is discharged down to 20%,
theear defenders automatically shutoff.

Charging thebatterypack
Note: Fullycharge thebattery pack before using it for thefirsttime.
1. Connect theincluded USB cable to thecharger socket (15) and to aUSB charger
such as aUSB port on your computer.
2. Thecharging indicator (14) will come on while thebattery is charging and go out
when thebattery is charged.
3. Thecharging time will depend on what type of charger youuse. Itcan take up to
6 hours (if you use acomputer USB port). Adedicated USB charger will charge
thebattery alittle quicker.
Operating instructions
Switching thepower on/off
• Turn the [OFF/ON] switch clockwise to theON setting to switch theradio on and
adjust thevolume.
• Turn the [OFF/ON] switch anticlockwise to theOFF setting to switch thepoweroff.
Note: Remember to switch theradio off after listening in order to preserve batterylife.
Listening to DAB/DAB+ radio
1. Turn the [OFF/ON] switch clockwise to switch theradio on and set thedesired volume.
2. Press [MODE], until “Switch to DAB” is displayed.
3. Thefirst time you use theear defenders, themessage “Welcome to Digital Radio”
will appear on thedisplay. Auto scanning starts straight away and begins searching
for DAB stations.
4. Theword “Searching” will appear on thedisplay while auto scanning is in progress.
When theauto scanning has finished, thenumber of DAB stations found and their
names will appear on thedisplay.
5. Theradio will automatically start to play thefirst DAB station that was found.
6. Thefound stations will be saved automatically and can be browsed using
short presses of the [▼] or [▲] button to navigate to thenext/previous station
respectively. Press [Menu/Info] to display information about thestation.
When changing location, thereception might deteriorate or cease entirely if theheadphones
are out of range of thetransmitter.
In which case, anew Auto scan or Manual search can be made as described below.
• Auto scanning: Hold in [Menu/Info] for 2 seconds, “Auto Scan” will be displayed,
press [Enter] to start automatic scanning. Theautomatic scan stops automatically
when astation has been found. If no DAB stations are found, “No Service” will
appear on thedisplay.

• Manual search: Press and hold [Menu/Info] for 2 seconds. “Auto Scan” will be
displayed. Press [▲] or [▼] repeatedly until “Manual Tune” is displayed. Press [Enter]
to select it. Thecurrent block and frequency will be displayed, press [▲] or [▼]
to tune to thedesired frequency block. Theradio will automatically start to play
thefirst DAB station that was found. Thefound stations will be saved automatically
and can be browsed using short presses of the [▼] or [▲] button to navigate to
thenext/previous station respectively. Press [Menu/Info] to display information
about thestation.
• Saving afound DAB radio station: Besides theautomatically saved stations,
it is possible to save up to 10 favourite stations. Hold in [Menu/Info] for 2 seconds.
“Auto Scan” will be displayed. Press [▲] or [▼] until “Save Preset” is displayed
and then press [Enter] to select it. Press [▲] or [▼] to select thememory slot
which you wish to save thestation on. Press [Enter] to confirm your selection.
Up to 10 DAB radio stations (presets) can be saved in thememory.
• Listening to apreset DAB radio station: (Theeasiest way to change stations is
to use thearrow keys [▲] or [▼]). Hold in [Menu/Info] for 2 seconds.
“Auto Scan” will appear on thedisplay, press [Enter] to confirm. Press [▲] or [▼]
to select one of thepreset DAB stations. Press [Enter] to confirm.
Listening to FM radio
1. Turn the [OFF/ON] switch clockwise to switch theradio on and set thedesired volume.
2. Press themode selector [MODE] therequired number of times to select “Switch to FM”.
• Auto scanning: Press and hold down [▲] or [▼] for 1 or 2 seconds and then
release thebutton to start scanning for stations. “Searching” will appear on
thedisplay while theautomatic scanning is in progress. Theautomatic scan stops
and playback begins automatically when astation has been found. (Theeasiest
way to change stations is to use thearrow keys [▲] or [▼]).
If you are situated along way away from thetransmitter or in aradio blackspot
theauto scan might have difficulty finding radio stations. In this case, it is possible to
tune into thedesired frequency as directed below but with worse reception as aresult.
• Manual search: press [▲] or [▼] to tune to thedesired frequency.
• Saving astation as apreset: To save as station as apreset, hold in [Menu/Info]
(2) for 2 seconds until “Call preset” is displayed. Press [▲] or [▼] until
“Save preset” is displayed and then press [Enter] to select it. Press [▲] or [▼]
therequired number of times to go to thememory slot that you wish to save
thestation on, then press [Enter] to confirm. You can save up to 10 FM radio
stations presets.

• Listening to apreset station: (Theeasiest way to change stations is to use
thearrow keys [▲] or [▼] ). Hold in [Menu/Info] for 2 seconds. “Call preset” will be
displayed. Press [Enter] to confirm and then press [▲] or [▼] to select astation
from thepresets. Press [Enter] to confirm. Playback will start automatically.
• Mono or stereo: Press [Enter] to select Mono or Auto (stereo if thereception is
good, otherwise mono).
Note: When an external audio source has been connected to the AUX-IN socket (6),
the radio mode will automatically be disconnected.
Setting thevolume
• Turn the [ON/OFF] switch clockwise to raise thevolume.
• Turn the [ON/OFF] switch anticlockwise to lower thevolume.
• Theear defenders have afilter to prevent thesound level from exceeding 82 dB(A).
AUX-IN (External audio source input socket)
1. Connect anexternal audio source with a3.5mm plug to theAUX-IN socket (6).
2. Theradio will automatically be disconnected.
3. “AUX” will appear on thedisplay when theaudio cable is connected to theear
defenders.
4. Start playback on thedevice. Setthedesired volume levels both on theexternal
device and theear defenders. Playback can be controlled directly from your
external device.
Reset (to default factory settings)
1. InDAB or FM mode, hold in the [Menu/Info] button.
2. Press [▲] or [▼] several times to get to System Reset.
3. Confirm that you wish to reset by pressing [Enter].
Careand maintenance
• Regularly wipe theear cups, cushions and headband clean using asoft,
dampcloth. Neveruse abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
• Turn theear cups facing outwards to dry if they are moist on theinside.
