Please read theentire instruction manual before using theproduct and then save
it for future reference. We reserve theright for any errors in text or images and any
necessary changes made to technical data. In theevent of technical problems or other
queries, please contact our Customer Services (see address details on theback).
Safety
• Theclock radio should not be taken apart or modified. Nevertry to open
thecasing of theclockradio. Thecasing houses dangerous current-carrying
non-insulated components. Contact with these can lead to fire or electricshock.
• Do not cover theclockradio. Adequate ventilation, with adistance of at least
10cm between ventilation ports and surrounding surfaces, is necessary to prevent
theclock radio from overheating.
• Theclock radio must only be connected to a100–240 V, 50/60 Hz electrical supply.
• Make sure that thewall socket to which themains adaptor is connected is easily
accessible, since this is theonly way to completely disconnect theclock radio from
themains supply.
• Place theclock radio on astable, flat surface.
• Never place any form of naked flames (wax candles, tea lights,etc.) on or close to
theclockradio.
• Do not place theclock radio where there is arisk of it falling into water or other liquid.
Donot place any objects which contain liquid onto theclock radio such as vases,
drinks,etc.
• Do not place theclock radio in constant sunlight or near naked flames such as
wood stoves, lit candles,etc.
• Place theclock radio in such away that there is no risk of people tripping over its
mainslead.
• Theclock radio is designed for indoor useonly.
• Never subject theclock radio to high temperature, dust, heavy vibration, impacts,
humidity or moisture.
• Do not abuse themainslead. Donot jerk themains lead, grip and pull theadapter
out of thesocket when disconnecting theclockradio. Makesure that themains
adaptor does not come into contact with heat, sharp edges or is crushed in anyway.
• Unplug themains adaptor during thunderstorms or if theclock radio is not to be
used for alongtime.
• Thestandby switch on theclock radio does not completely disconnect it from
themains. Tocompletely disconnect theclock radio from themains, themains
adaptor must be unplugged from thewall socket.
• Remember always to protect your hearing. Listening on high volume for prolonged
periods can lead to permanent hearingloss.
• Do not use theclock radio if it or its mains lead is damaged in anyway.
• Theclock radio must only be repaired by qualified service technicians.

• It is completely normal for theclock radio to become warm duringuse.
• Themains lead must be changed if damaged. Thisis to prevent therisk of electric
shock or fire and should only be carried out by themanufacturer, authorised
service facility or aqualified tradesman.
• Do not insert any foreign objects into theclock radio’s openings. Doingso may
increase therisk for electricshock.
• Do not let children play with theclockradio.

Operating instructions
DAB Radio
Note: Thetime setting of theclock radio is automatically set by theDAB radio signal.
Setting thetime manually is not possible.
Getting thebest reception
• Fully extend theFM aerial (21).
• Point theaerial in thedirection where thebest reception is achieved or try shifting
theposition of theradio itself.
• For optimal DAB reception, keep theaerial in acompletely vertical position,
pointing it either upwards or downwards.
On/settings
1. Plug themains adaptor in theclock radio and into awall socket. Thedisplay will
come on and begin flashing after afew seconds.
2. Press [STANDBY/ON ]. Theradio will automatically begin searching for DAB stations.
Theword “Scanning” will appear on thedisplay along with aprogress bar and
thetotal number of stationsfound.
3. Once scanning is completed, thefirst detected station will begin playing.
4. Press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲] in order to toggle to thenext saved station.
5. Press [SELECT] to listen.
Note: Ifno DAB stations are found, theradio will open thestation search settingsmenu.
1. Press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲] to select Manual tune or Autoscan.
Autoscan performs thesame scan that was performed when theradio was
switchedon. Thisfunction can be used if you have moved theradio to another
location and wish to perform thescanagain.
2. Press [SELECT] to begin theselected method of scanning.
3. If Manual tune has been selected, you should press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲]
to search manually for afavourable DAB station.
4. Once adesirable station has been found, press [SELECT ] to confirm your selection.
5. Press [SELECT] once more to listen to thestation.
Secondary DAB services
Sometimes a “>” symbol will be displayed after thename of astation. Thismeans that
there are secondary services available for that station.
For example, asports station may have extra information or commentary.
Press[SELECT] to select thesecondary service.

DAB displaymodes
Every time [INFO] is pressed in DAB mode, thefollowing information is displayed:
• Time/Date: Thetime anddate. Thetime and date do not need to be set manually;
they will be automatically updated by theDAB station signal. Iffor some reason
thetime and date are not updated, “<TIME/DATE>” will appear on thedisplay.
• Frequency: Thefrequency of thecurrent station.
• Audio Bit Rate: Theamount of data transferred per second.
• Signal Strength: Thesignal strength indicated by aslidebar.
• DLS: Dynamic Label Segmenting is text sent from theDAB station you are
listeningto. Thiscan include information about thesongs that are playing or other
information.
• Programme Type: Thetype of programme being broadcast. Ifinformation about
thetype of programme is not available, themessage “<Programme type>” will be
displayed.
• Ensemble/Multiplex (Group name): Acollection of radio stations that are bundled
and transmitted together on thesame frequency.
Note: Pressand hold in [INFO] for 2 seconds to display thepresent software in theradio.
FMradio
1. Press [DAB/FM] until “FM” and anFM radio frequency are displayed.
2. Press and hold in [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲] until “Scanning…>” or
“Scanning…<” is displayed to start anauto search for FM stations. Thesearch
stops at thefirst station itfinds. Press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲] again to
resume thestation search.
3. To search manually, press repeatedly on [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲].
Saving radio station presets
There are 10 station presets for saving your favourite stations in either FM or DABmode.
1. Tune into thestation which you wish tosave.
2. Hold in [PRESET] until thedisplay shows “Empty preset 1”, and thepreset
number willflash.
3. Press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲] to select thedesired station preset number.
4. Press [SELECT] to confirm your selection. Thedisplay will show “Preset 1 saved”
(if preset 1 was used).

Listening to preset radio stations
1. Press [PRESET]once.
2. Press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲] to select thedesired station preset number.
3. If thepreset has not been allocated astation, thedisplay will show “Empty preset”
and thenumber of thepreset.
Factoryreset
Note: Allyour preset stations will be erased during afactoryreset.
If theclock radio has been moved over along distance such as to another part of
thecountry, your pre-tuned and stored DAB stations might no longer be available.
Ifthis is thecase, you will need to reset theradio to its factory settings.
1. Turn theradio on by pressing the [STANDBY/ON] button.
2. Press and hold in [MENU] until “Press SELECT to confirm reset” appears on thedisplay.
3. Press [SELECT], thedisplay will show “Restarting…” and once therestart is
complete theradio will enter standbymode.
4. Press [STANDBY/ON] to turn theradio back on again and start anautomatic scan
for DAB radio stations.
Alarm settings
1. Press and hold in [ALARM 1 ] or [ALARM 2] until thedisplay shows “Alarm Setting”
and thehour digit of thealarm time flashes.
2. Press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲] to set thehour and then confirm by pressing
[SELECT].
3. Theminutes display will then begin flashing. Press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲]
to set theminutes and then confirm by pressing [SELECT].
4. Thedisplay will show “DAB Preset”. Press [SCROLL▼] or [SCROLL ▲] to select
apreset DAB radio station as thealarm signal or press [SELECT] until “FM Preset”
is shown instead to select apreset FM radio station in thesame way.
5. Press [SELECT], thedisplay will show “BUZZER TONE”. Press [SCROLL▼] or
[SCROLL ▲] to select alarm signal 1 or 2.
6. Press [SELECT], “Volume” will appear on thedisplay, press [SCROLL▼] or
[SCROLL ▲] to set thevolume of thealarm signal.
7. Press [SELECT], thesettings have now been made.
Activating thealarm
Press repeatedly on [ALARM 1] or [ALARM 2] to activate theDAB or FM radio as
thealarm signal.
Thecurrent alarm mode will be displayed in thefollowing sequence:
When thedisplay shows your desired alarm mode, release thebutton to confirm
selection and activate thealarm. Thealarm symbol is shown on thedisplay.

Deactivating thealarm
To deactivate thealarm, press repeatedly on [ALARM 1] or [ALARM 2] until “Alarm
off” is displayed.
Automatic alarm repeat/snooze
Automatic repeat
When thealarm sounds, press [STANDBY/ON ] once to shut thealarmoff. Thealarmwill
automatically repeat each day at theset time as long as thealarm symbol is displayed.
Snooze
When thealarm sounds, press [SNOOZE] to temporarily switch thealarm off for 5minutes.
Thesnooze function can be repeated for up to one hour, and then thealarm will be
switched off automatically.
Note:
Thecurrent alarm has priority, so if asecond alarm is set to go off whilst you are “snoozing”,
thesecond alarm will not function. However, if thefirst alarm is switched off before
thesecond alarm is due to go off, thesecond alarm will sound as programmed.
Sleep timer
Thesleep function allows you to programme theclock radio to switch itself off after
aperiod of 90, 80, 70, 60, 30, 20 or 10 minutes.
1. Press the [SLEEP] button to select aduration:
2. When thedesired sleep duration is displayed, release the [SLEEP] button to
activate thesleep function.
3. appears on thedisplay, “1” represents 10 minutes.
If you wish to deactivate thesleep timer function before theset time has elapsed,
press [SLEEP] until “Sleep Timer Off” appears on thedisplay.
Display backlight
• When theclock radio is switchedon: press [BACKLIGHT] repeatedly to adjust
thebrightness of thedisplay in thefollowing sequence: Backlight off–Backlight 01–
Backlight 02–Backlight 03.
• In standby mode there are only two modes for thebacklight: Backlight off–Backlight 01.

Care and maintenance
• Always unplug theadaptor from thewall socket before cleaning theappliance.
• Clean theproduct using alightly moistened cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents,
never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• If theclock radio is not to be used for anextended period, it should be unplugged
and stored in adry and dust-free location.
Troubleshooting guide
Theclock radio does
not come on.
• Make sure that themains adaptor is intact and is securely
connected to both thewall socket and theclock radio.
• Make sure that thewall socket is live.
No sound. • Check thevolume.
• Check that theMUTE function is not activated.
Poor radio reception. • Try adjusting theaerial or moving theradio to another location.
• Perform afactory reset, refer to theFactory reset section
above.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with
general household waste. This applies throughout theentire EU. In order
to prevent any harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused by
incorrect waste disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling
so that thematerial can be disposed of in aresponsible manner. When
recycling your product, take it to your local collection facility or contact
theplace of purchase. They will ensure that theproduct is disposed of in
anenvironmentally sound manner.

Säkerhet
