2 Safety and installation instructions
The following texts are only a supplement to the illustrations on the supplementary
sheet. They do not contain the full installation and operating instructions. Please
observe the illustrations on the supplementary sheet.
Please observe the prescribed safety instructions and stipulations from the vehicle
manufacturer and service workshops.
Observe the applicable legal regulations.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage in the following cases:
• Faulty assembly or connection
• Damage to the product resulting from mechanical influences and incorrect connection voltage
• Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
•Useforpurposesother than those described in the operating manual
Note the following instructions during installation:
!WARNING!
• Secure the parts installed in the vehicle in such a way that they cannot become loose
under any circumstances (sudden braking, accidents) and cause injuries to the occu-
pants of the vehicle.
• Do not install the parts anywhere in the vehicle where an airbag may open. This could
cause injury if the airbag deploys.
• Inadequate supply line connections could result in short circuits, causing:
–Cablefires
– The airbag being triggered
– Damage to electronic control devices
– Electrical malfunctions (indicators, brake light, horn, ignition, lights).
!CAUTION!
• Secure the parts installed in the vehicle in such a way that they cannot become loose
under any circumstances (sudden braking, accidents) and cause injuries to the occu-
pants of the vehicle.
• Secure any parts of the system concealed by the bodywork in such a manner that they
cannot be come loose or damage other parts or cables, or impair vehicle functions
(steering, pedals, etc.).
• Always follow the safety instructions of the vehicle manufacturer.
Some work (e.g. on retention systems such as the airbag, etc.) may only be per-
formed by qualified specialists.
ANOTICE!
• When working on the electrical system, the batteries must be separated from the
vehicle ground. This applies to the main and additional batteries.

• When working on the following cables, only use insulated cable lugs, plugs and tab
sleeves:
– 30 (direct input from positive battery terminal)
– 15 (connected positive terminal, behind the battery)
– 31 (return cable from the battery, ground)
– 58 (reversing light)
Do not use porcelain wire connectors.
• Use a crimping tool to connect the cables.
• Screw the cable when connecting cable 31 (earth)
– Screw on the cable using a cable lug and gear disc to one of the vehicle's earth
bolts or
– Screw the cable to the sheet metal body work using a cable lug and a self-tapping
screw.
Make sure there is a good earth connection.
• If you disconnect the battery, all data stored in all volatile memory will be lost. Data
may have to be reset. Please follow the instructions of the respective vehicle manu-
facturer in this case. You can find instructions for making these settings in the operat-
ing manual.

• To prevent damage when drilling, make sure there is sufficient space on the other
side for the drill head to emerge.
• Deburr all drill holes and treat them with a rust-protection agent.
Observe the following instructions when working with electrical parts:
ANOTICE!
• When testing the voltage in electrical cables, only use a diode test lamp or a
voltmeter.
Test lamps with a bulb consume too much voltage, which can damage the vehicle's
electronic system.
• When making electrical connections, ensure that:
– They are not kinked or twisted
– They do not rub on edges
– They are not laid in sharp-edged through-holes without protection.
• Insulate all connections.
• Secure the cables against mechanical stress with cable binders or insulating tape, for
example to existing lines.
• Follow the installation and operating manual for the monitor.

4Intendeduse
The CAM 1000 / BSC 01 camera, together with the M75LXAHD monitor, is a camera-based turn
assistant and supports the driver during right-hand turning maneuvers. The camera is designed for
installation above the passenger window of the driver's cab and is equipped with a movable ball
head for easy orientation.
The CAM1000 / BSC01 camera is designed for installation in commercial vehicles.

The CAM1000 / BSC01 camera has the following system limits:
• The system detects moving objects that move from 0° (parallel and in the direction of travel to
the vehicle) to about 45° (sideways towards the vehicle).
• The object must move faster than the vehicle.
• The system does not detect any hidden objects.
• The detection of objects in darkness is limited.

Only for Germany and Austria (status of November 2019): CAM1000 / BSC01
may only be operated with the M75LXAHD monitor.
WARNING!
• CAM1000 / BSC01does not release the driver from the duty of care when turning,
in particular the inspection of the area to the right of the vehicle.
• The driver remains fully responsible for driving the vehicle, for fulfilling their road
safety obligations and for complying with the statutory road safety requirements.
• Detection reliability depends on correct installation, sufficient care (removal of dirt)
and lighting conditions (min. 10 lux).

5 Technical description
5.1 Function description
The camera image is evaluated via the control unit in the camera. Objects moving in the same
direction as the vehicle are detected and marked on the monitor with a movement arrow.
The arrow moves with the detected object and serves as an optical signal. Optionally, an acoustic
warning signal can be added.
The system includes the M75LXAHD monitor, which is mounted on the right A-pillar and provides
the driver with images of the situation next to the vehicle.
The CAM1000 / BSC01 camera has the following features:
• CMOS camera with moving object detection function
• Evaluation of the signal edge when the object enters the active area of the image
• Defined active and inactive image area
• Minimization of messages by exclusion of irrelevantobjects (filtering by direction of movement)
• Optical signaling by dynamic arrow indicator
• Acoustic warning signal (optional)
• Speed-dependent activation via GPS receiver
• Automatic activation of the monitor
5.2 Display elements of the camera image
Symbol Function Description
Active area The marking of the active area appears for about
6 seconds after the ignition is activated. It indi-
cates the area in which the camera detects an
object.
Reference line The reference line appears permanently. It must be
positioned parallel to the right vehicle contour.
Dynamic arrow
indicator
The dynamic arrow indication starts at the
detected object and moves in the direction of
travel of the vehicle (from rear to front).
GPS Green symbol: full function
– Camera is working correctly
– GPS reception available
Yellow symbol: Faulty GPS reception
The system is active but the acoustic warning
signal is off until a better GPS reception is
obtained.
Red symbol: no object detection available

6.1 Instructions before installation (change acceptance)
• The system requires a change acceptance by a testing laboratory (for example, DEKRA, TÜV).
• Please observe the manufacturer's installation guidelines.
• The load status has no effect on the function of the system as long as the installation instructions
are observed.
• The electrical connection and commissioning may only be carried out by a specialist in accord-
ance with the information in this assembly and operating manual.
• The device may only be put into operation if the user is aware of the risks and dangers resulting
from the use of the device.

Note the following during installation:
• Note the detection range dependent on the height of the vehicle:
– Operating mode Afor vehicles from 2mto3m(fig. 2to fig. 3) in height:
Visible area: 37 m x 6 m, 165° FOV (field of view)

– Operating mode Bfor vehicles from 3mto4m(fig. 7to fig. 5) in height:

• Use the base if the box body blocks the view to the detection zone (fig. 8).

• The system only fulfills the conditions if the monitor is mounted in the area of the right A-pillar
(30° to the viewing axis straight ahead).
7 Connecting the CAM1000 / BSC01

Observe the following:
• As far as possible, use original ducts for laying the cables, or other suitable options such as
paneling edges, ventilation grilles or dummy plugs. If no openings are available, you must drill
holes for the respective cables. Check beforehand that there is sufficient space on the other
side for the drill head to emerge.
• Wherever possible, lay cables inside the vehicle, as they are better protected there than out-
side.
• If you do need to lay a cable outside the vehicle, ensure that it is well fastened (use additional
cable ties, insulating tape etc.).

• To prevent damage to the cables when laying them, ensure that they are always far enough
away from hot or moving vehicle components (exhaust pipes, drive shafts, light systems, fans,
heaters, etc.).
• Attach the cables securely in the vehicles to prevent tripping hazards. This can be performed by
using cable binders, insulating tape or gluing in place with adhesives.
• Protect every through-hole made in the bodywork against water penetration by suitable meas-
ures, e.g. by using a cable with a sealant and by spraying the cable and the cable sleeve with
sealant.

NOTE
• In Germany and Austria, special requirements apply for the operation to fulfill the
operating licence.
• CAM1000 / BSC01 may only be operated with the M75LXAHD monitor.
• It is important for the compliant operation of the system that it cannot be switched
off manually. The CAM1000 / BSC01 must therefore be connected via camera
input CAM3 of the M75LX AHD monitor. The corresponding blue control line
switches the system on and off.

✓The system will automatically be activated and deactivated via the GPS signal at >30 km/h.
➤Connect the control cable of the monitor and the camera for the reverse gear (green) with the
vehicle‘s reverse gear signal.
✓The camera provides an image but the object detection is deactivated.

8.1 Detection range
The detection range of the CAM1000 / BSC01 is divided into two zones:
•Visible area: depending on vehicle height in operating mode Aor B
•Active area:8mx4m

8.2 Test indicator when switching on

The test indicator allows the camera to be correctly aligned with the front of the vehicle. The refer-
ence line (fig. b1) shall be at least in alignment with the front of the vehicle. The active area
(fig. b2) is marked as a red area in the video for 6 seconds.

The CAM1000 / BSC01 is automatically activated when the ignition is switched on.
As soon as an obstacle is in the active area, the dynamic arrow indicator (fig. b3) appears in the
display. If the audible signal is connected, an evenly repeating beep will sound.
NOTE
On the initial start-upthe GPS receiver mustsave the satellite position. Thismay take up
to 10 minutes.
NOTE
No vehicle parts may protrude into the active area because the camera cannot detect
a possible object at this point.
NOTE
The video system switches to standby as soon as the ignition is switched on. The sys-
tem is activated depending on the speed from a speed of less than 30 km/h. The cam-
era image appears.
NOTE
In night mode with ambient lighting below 10 lux, the camera switches to black and
white mode.

➤Occasionally clean the product with a damp cloth.
11 Warranty
The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the
manufacturer's branch in your country (see dometic.com/dealer) or your retailer.
For repair and warranty processing, please send the following items:
• Defect components
• A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
• A reason for the claim or description of the fault

Die folgenden Texte ergänzen die Abbildungen auf dem Beiblatt lediglich. Sie alleine
sind keine vollständigen Einbau- und Bedienhinweise! Bitte beachten Sie unbedingt
die Abbildungen auf dem Beiblatt!
Beachten Sie die vom Fahrzeughersteller und vom Kfz-Handwerk vorgeschriebenen
Sicherheitshinweise und Auflagen!
Beachten Sie die geltenden gesetzlichen Vorschriften.
Der Hersteller übernimmt in folgenden Fällen keine Haftung für Schäden:
• Montage- oder Anschlussfehler
• Beschädigungen am Produkt durch mechanische Einflüsse und falsche Anschlussspannung
• Veränderungen am Produkt ohne ausdrückliche Genehmigung vom Hersteller
• Verwendung für andere als die in der Anleitung beschriebenen Zwecke
Beachten Sie folgende Hinweise bei der Montage:
!WARNUNG!
• Befestigen Sie die im Fahrzeug montierten Teile so, dass sie sich unter keinen
Umständen (scharfes Abbremsen, Verkehrsunfall) lösen und zu Verletzungen der
Fahrzeuginsassen führen können.
• Montieren Sie die im Fahrzeug montierten Teile nicht im Wirkungsbereich eines
Airbags. Sonst besteht Verletzungsgefahr, wenn der Airbag auslöst.
• Unzureichende Leitungsverbindungen können zur Folge haben, dass durch Kurz-
schluss
– Kabelbrände entstehen,
– der Airbag ausgelöst wird,
– elektronische Steuerungseinrichtungen beschädigt werden,
– elektrische Funktionen ausfallen (Blinker, Bremslicht, Hupe, Zündung, Licht).

• Befestigen Sie die im Fahrzeug montierten Teile so, dass sie sich unter keinen
Umständen (scharfes Abbremsen, Verkehrsunfall) lösen und zu Verletzungen der
Fahrzeuginsassen führen können.
• Befestigen Sie verdeckt unter Verkleidungen anzubringende Teile des Systems so,
dass sie sich nicht lösen oder andere Teile und Leitungen beschädigen und keine
Fahrzeugfunktionen (Lenkung, Pedale usw.) beeinträchtigen können.
• Beachten Sie immer die Sicherheitshinweise des Fahrzeugherstellers.
Einige Arbeiten (z. B. an Rückhaltesystemen wie Airbag usw.) dürfen nur von geschul-
tem Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden.
AACHTUNG!
• Bei Arbeiten an der Elektrik sind die Batterien von der Fahrzeugmasse zu trennen.
Das gilt für die Haupt- und auch Zusatzbatterien.

• Verwenden Sie bei Arbeiten an den folgenden Leitungen nur isolierte Kabelschuhe,
Stecker und Flachsteckhülsen:
– 30 (Eingang von Batterie Plus direkt)
– 15 (Geschaltetes Plus, hinter Batterie)
– 31 (Rückleitung ab Batterie, Masse)
– 58 (Rückfahrscheinwerfer).
Verwenden Sie keine Lüsterklemmen.
• Verwenden Sie eine Krimpzange zum Verbinden der Kabel.
• Schrauben Sie das Kabel bei Anschlüssen an Leitung 31 (Masse)
– mit Kabelschuh und Zahnscheibe an eine fahrzeugeigene Masseschraube oder
– mit Kabelschuh und Blechschraube an das Karosserieblech.
Achten Sie auf eine gute Masseübertragung!
• Beim Abklemmen der Batterie verlieren alle flüchtigen Speicher ihre gespeicherten
Daten. Unter Umständen müssen Daten neu gesetzt werden. Bitte beachten Sie die
Hinweise des jeweiligen Fahrzeugherstellers für diesen Fall. Hinweise zur Einstellung
finden Sie in der jeweiligen Bedienungsanleitung.

• Achten Sie beim Bohren auf ausreichenden Freiraum für den Bohreraustritt, um

• Benutzen Sie zum Prüfen der Spannung in elektrischen Leitungen nur eine Dioden-
prüflampe oder ein Voltmeter.
Prüflampen mit einem Leuchtkörper nehmen zu hohe Ströme auf, wodurch die Fahr-
zeugelektronik beschädigt werden kann.
• Beachten Sie beim Verlegen der elektrischen Anschlüsse, dass diese
– nicht geknickt oder verdreht werden,
– nicht an Kanten scheuern,
– nicht ohne Schutz durch scharfkantige Durchführungen verlegt werden.
• Isolieren Sie alle Verbindungen und Anschlüsse.
• Sichern Sie die Kabel gegen mechanische Beanspruchung durch Kabelbinder oder
Isolierband, z. B. an vorhandenen Leitungen.

4 Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Die Kamera CAM1000 / BSC01 ist zusammen mit dem Monitor M75LXAHD ein kamerabasierter
Abbiegeassistent und unterstützt den Fahrer bei Rechts-Abbiegevorgängen. Die Kamera ist für
den Einbau über dem Beifahrerfenster der Fahrerkabine konstruiert und mit einem beweglichen
Kugelkopf ausgerüstet, der eine einfache Ausrichtung ermöglicht.
Die Kamera CAM1000 / BSC01 ist zum Einbau in Nutzfahrzeuge ausgelegt.

Kamera CAM1000 / BSC01 weist folgende Systemgrenzen auf:
• Das System erkennt bewegliche Objekte, die sich mit 0° (parallel und in Fahrtrichtung zum
Fahrzeug) bis etwa 45° (seitlich auf das Fahrzeug zu) bewegen.
• Das Objekt muss sich schneller bewegen als das Fahrzeug.
• Das System erkennt keine verdeckten Objekte.

HINWEIS
Nur für Deutschland und Österreich (Stand November 2019): CAM1000 /
BSC01 darf ausschließlich zusammen mit dem Monitor M75LXAHD betrieben wer-
den.
WARNUNG!
• CAM1000 / BSC01 entbindet den Fahrer nicht von der Sorgfaltspflicht beim
Abbiegen insbesondere die Überprüfung des Bereiches rechts neben dem Fahr-
zeug.
• Der Fahrzeugführer bleibt im vollen Umfang verantwortlich für das Führen des Fahr-
zeugs, das Erfüllen der ihm obliegenden Verkehrssicherungspflichten sowie das
Einhalten der gesetzlichen Vorgaben zur Verkehrssicherheit.
• Die Erfassungssicherheit hängt von der vorschriftsmäßigen Montage, der ausrei-
chenden Pflege (Beseitigung von Verschmutzung) und den Lichtverhältnissen
(min. 10 Lux) ab.

5 Technische Beschreibung
5.1 Funktionsbeschreibung
Das Kamerabild wird über die Steuereinheit in der Kamera ausgewertet. Objekte, die sich in
gleicher Richtung wie das Fahrzeug bewegen, werden erkannt und auf dem Monitor mit einem
Bewegungspfeil markiert. Der Pfeil bewegt sich mit dem erkannten Objekt und dient als optische
Signalisierung. Optional kann ein akustisches Warnsignal hinzugefügt werden.
Zum System gehört der Monitor M75LXAHD, der an der rechten A-Säule montiert wird und dem
Fahrer Bilder zur Situation neben dem Fahrzeug liefert.
Die Kamera CAM1000 / BSC01 besitzt folgende Eigenschaften:
• CMOS-Kamera mit Erkennungsfunktion von bewegten Objekten
• Auswertung der Signalflanke bei Eintritt des Objektes in den aktiven Bereich des Bildes
• Definierter aktiver und inaktiver Bildbereich
• Minimierung von Meldungen durch Ausschluss nicht relevanter Objekte (Filterung nach
Bewegungsrichtung)

6.1 Hinweise vor dem Einbau (Änderungsabnahme)
• Das System bedarf einer Änderungsabnahme durch eine Prüfstelle (z. B. DEKRA, TÜV).
• Bitte beachten Sie die Aufbaurichtlinien des Herstellers.
• Der Beladungszustand hat keine Auswirkungen auf die Funktion des Systems, solange die
Montagehinweise beachtet werden.
• Der elektrische Anschluss und die Inbetriebnahme dürfen nur von einer Fachkraft nach den
Angaben dieser Montage- und Bedienungsanleitung erfolgen.
• Das Gerät darf nur in Betrieb gesetzt werden, wenn sich der Anwender über die Risiken und
Gefahren, die aus der Benutzung des Gerätes resultieren, im Klaren ist.

Beachten Sie folgendes:
• Verwenden Sie für die Durchführung der Anschlusskabel nach Möglichkeit
Originaldurchführungen oder andere Durchführungsmöglichkeiten, z. B. Verkleidungskanten,
Lüftungsgitter oder Blindschalter. Wenn keine Durchführungen vorhanden sind, müssen Sie für
die jeweiligen Kabel entsprechende Löcher bohren. Schauen Sie vorher nach, ob ausreichen-
der Freiraum für den Bohreraustritt vorhanden ist.
• Verlegen Sie die Kabel nach Möglichkeit immer im Fahrzeuginneren, denn dort sind sie besser
geschützt als außen am Fahrzeug.
• Wenn Sie die Kabel trotzdem außerhalb des Fahrzeuges verlegen, achten Sie auf eine sichere
Befestigung (durch zusätzliche Kabelbinder, Isolierband usw.).
• Um Beschädigungen am Kabel zu vermeiden, halten Sie beim Verlegen der Kabel immer aus-
reichend Abstand zu heißen und sich bewegenden Fahrzeugteilen (Auspuffrohre, Antriebs-
wellen, Lichtmaschine, Lüfter, Heizung usw.).
• Befestigen Sie die Kabel sicher im Fahrzeug, um ein Verfangen (Sturzgefahr) zu vermeiden.
Dieses kann erfolgen durch den Einsatz von Kabelbindern, Isolierband oder durch Ankleben
mit Klebstoff.
• Schützen Sie jeden Durchbruch an der Außenhaut durch geeignete Maßnahmen gegen
Wassereinbruch, z. B. durch Einsetzen des Kabels mit Dichtungsmasse und durch Abspritzen
des Kabels und der Durchführungstülle mit Dichtungsmasse.

Es muss folgende Verdrahtung umgesetzt werden:
➤Verbinden Sie die Steuerleitung des GPS-Empfängers (blau) mit der blauen Steuerleitung
CAM3 des Monitors.
✓Das System wird automatisch aktiviert und über das GPS-Signal bei >30 km/h wieder abge-
schaltet.
➤Verbinden Sie die Steuerleitungen des Monitors und der Kamera für den Rückwärtsgang (grün)
mit dem Rückwärtsgangsignal des Fahrzeuges.
✓Die Kamera liefert ein Bild, jedoch ist die Objekterfassung deaktiviert.

8.1 Erfassungsbereich
Der Erfassungsbereich der CAM1000 / BSC01 ist in zwei Zonen aufgeteilt:
•Sichtbarer Bereich: abhängig von der Fahrzeughöhe in Betriebsart Aoder B
•Aktiver Bereich:8mx4m

10 Gelbe/orange Ader: Kabelbrücke zur Aktivierung Betriebsart Aoder B:
Schleife geschlossen = Betriebsart B165° FOV
Schleife offen = Betriebsart A140° FOV
11 Blaue Ader: GPS-Ausgang 12 V/24 V zum Einschalten des Monitors
HINWEIS
• In Deutschland und Österreich gelten besondere Anforderungen für den Betrieb,
um die geforderte Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis zu erfüllen.
• Die CAM1000 / BSC01 darf ausschließlich zusammen mit dem Monitor M75LX
AHD betrieben werden.
• Wichtig für den konformen Betrieb des Systems ist, dass es manuell nicht abge-
schaltet werden kann. Die CAM1000 / BSC01 muss deshalb über den Kameraein-
gang CAM3 des Monitors M75LX AHD angeschlossen werden. Die dazugehörige
blaue Steuerleitung schaltet das System ein und aus.
HINWEIS
Bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme muss der GPS-Empfänger die Satellitenposition
speichern. Das kann bis zu 10 Minuten dauern.
HINWEIS
Es dürfen keine Fahrzeugteile in den aktiven Bereich ragen, weil die Kamera an dieser
Stelle ein mögliches Objekt nicht detektieren kann.
