1. Read rst: Safety informaon
Always read and follow the safety informaon
accompanied by this symbol.
• User’s should pay parcular aenon to the potenal for
interference from other systems operang in the same or
adjacent radio frequency bands.
• The compartment covers on the backside may be opened
only by authorised persons in accordance with the
instrucons in the service manual.
• Baery replacement may be performed only by authorised
persons in accordance with the instrucons in the
Maintenance secon. Only use recommended baery type
as stated in the Technical Data secon.
CAUTION
Only use baeries, power supply and accessories that
have been approved for use with this parcular model.
Connecng other accessories may be dangerous and may
invalidate the type approval and guarantee.
• Only use recommended power supply as stated in the
Technical Data secon.
• The power supply can be used as a disconnecng device.
The wall socket shall be installed near the equipment and
shall be easily accessible.

2. Important informaon
All systems using radio and network communicaon are
subject to interference beyond the user’s control.
Products from Doro are designed to minimise the impact of
such interference.
Nevertheless, the user must be aware that system
components can be subjected to interference or other
inuences that may cause malfuncon.
It is therefore important to regularly check that every
part of the system works in all areas, especially radio
communicaons. Contact your supplier immediately in case
of any suspected malfuncon.
Users should pay parcular aenon to the risk of disrupon
from products which communicate using the same or
adjacent radio frequency bands.

4. Descripon of funcons
Doro Eliza is a digital social alarm and smartcare hub.
Adaptable for future needs and connects to a wide range of
accessories and welfare services – enabling the user a tailor
made soluon
Doro Eliza has a built in module for 2G, 3G and 4G mobile
networks, the unit has possibility to transfer alarms over
broadband/network connecons and mobile telephone
networks. The unit oers the user the possibility of two way
voice communicaon using exisng standard for VoIP (Voice
over Internet Protocol) calling. The unit uses SIP, a standard
protocol to iniate speech and video over broadband
connecons. In addion to voice connected alarm calls,
Doro Eliza oers a plaorm for transfer of detailed alarm
informaon, speech messages, online status etc.
The Doro Eliza is assigned an unique idencaon number
(ID) that is transferred and corresponding to personal
informaon stored in the alarm receiving centre (ARC).
The radio trigger is adapted for use with the unit, see 9.

Acvate the alarm
The assistance alarm can be acvated:
• by pressing the buon on a radio trigger.
• by pressing the red integral buon on the Doro Eliza.
On acvaon, the Doro Eliza calls an alarm receiver to
summon help.
Alarm transmiers
50 radio transmiers (triggers/sensors) can be programmed
with the Doro Eliza, e.g. a radio trigger. In the event of an
alarm from a radio transmier, the baery status of the radio
transmier is tested.
Alarm receivers
Up to 10 alarm receivers can be programmed. The alarm is
idened using an alarm code which is programmed into the
Doro Eliza. An alarm placed to a private receiver is idened
by a recorded voice ID.
The person receiving the alarm can then speak directly with
the person raising the alarm and take appropriate acon.

to the service manual or contact your supplier for further
informaon.

covers and perform wiring in accordance with the
instrucons in the service manual.

6. Installaon
Install the SIM card
IMPORTANT
Turn o the device and disconnect the external power
supply before removing the baery cover.
• Ensure that Doro Eliza is switched o.
• Remove the compartment cover.
• Carefully move the baery aside to expose the SIM card
holder. If the baery already is installed, please note if the
baery is connected to not damage the wiring.
• Install the SIM card according to picture , note the
markings.
• Replace or install the baery.
IMPORTANT
Always make sure the baery is connected if the device
is new or has been stored.
• Mount the cover for the SIM card compartment.
CAUTION
1234 or 0000 are not appropriate PIN codes for the SIM
card, if any of these PIN codes are used, the code should
be changed before installaon. Change of PIN code is
preferably done using a mobile phone.

Connecon
Doro Eliza is easy to install, if broadband/network connecon
shall be used, connecon is made with with a network cable
(not included). Normally Doro Eliza is set to use DHCP, which
means that the unit automacally will be assigned an IP
address when connected to a network.
1. Connect the power supply to the wall socket and the
power supply lead to the DC input socket.
2. Connect the network cable from the broadband/network
to the Ethernet socket on Doro Eliza.
3. Turn the power switch to the I posion
4. Check that the On !indicator lamp has a steady red light
5. The status light shall go o within 90 seconds if the
mobile network (GSM/UMTS/LTE) is detected
6. Carry out a test alarm from the Doro Eliza
CAUTION
Installaon must be performed only by authorised
persons in accordance with the instrucons in the
service manual.

8. Pairing
Contacts, alarm codes and sengs are programmed using
www.icareonline.com or by using a computer via a web-
browser.
In some cases, the Doro Eliza can be delivered pre-
programmed by the supplier. For help with pairing, please
refer to the service manual or contact your supplier.
Pairing radio triggers
Up to 50 radio triggers/sensors or other radio-alarm
transmiers can be paired to Doro Eliza.
• Press and hold the radio pairing buon (Link key) and
release when an audible signal is played and the Power
indicator !starts to blink.
• Acvate the radio transmier. When Doro Eliza receives
the radio signal an audible signal is played.
• Conrm the pairing by pressing and releasing the red
integral alarm buon once on Doro Eliza. The successful
pairing is conrmed with an audible signal.
• The radio trigger is now paired and set to a default alarm
type. The alarm type can be changed anyme using the
oponal i-care® online service.
Note: Repeat the steps above to pair addional radio
triggers.

Check the radio coverage
Always check the funcon aer installaon and pairing.
• Press and immediately release the radio pairing buon
(Link key).
• Press/acvate the radio trigger/accessory. When Doro Eliza
receives the radio signal, you will hear a tone. Repeat
this in all areas where the radio trigger/accessory shall
funcon.
Check the mobile network signal strength
When installing the Doro Eliza, the mobile network signal
strength must be veried.
The mobile network signal strength can be checked via www.
icareonline.com or by using a local computer via any web
browser. For more informaon, see the service manual.
Note! If acceptable value can’t be achieved an external
antenna must be used.
Check the funconality
Always check the funcon aer installaon and pairing. Test
alarms shall be done regularly and in a way that secures the
whole alarm chain from radio transmier to alarm receiver.
Automac test
The funconality of the Doro Eliza and its communicaon
can automacally be checked down to every other minute
through the oponal i-care® online service. It can also be
checked by automac funcon monitoring or a periodical
test report to the Alarm receiving centre (ARC), for example
once a day or once a week.

9. Radio trigger
The radio trigger uses two-way radio communicaon, this
means that when Doro Eliza receives an alarm from a radio
trigger the carephone will send a conrmaon of receipt to
the radio trigger. This is conrmed on the radio trigger by
indicator light change from red to green. If the radio trigger
doesn't get any conrmaon, the alarm is repeated.
The radio trigger can be worn using a wristband or neckband.
The radio trigger is waterproof according to IP67 by an
integrated gasket and can be carried in the shower and in
wet environment.
10. General informaon
• If Broadband/network connecon is used the unit should
always be connected to the network as near the router (or
Ethernet connecon) as possible.
• Vericaon of mobile network coverage should always be
done as a part of installaon.
• In order for an alarm to be sent, at least one alarm
receiver/response centre needs to be programmed.
• The Doro Eliza must not come into contact with water or
any other liquid.
• Used baeries shall be disposed of in an environmentally-
responsible manner.
• If the Doro Eliza is supposed to be connected to a mobile
network it need to be equipped with a mini-SIM (2FF) and
having an appropriate mobile subscripon including voice
and data.

11. Maintenance
Cleaning
The Doro Eliza and the radio trigger should be cleaned using
a slightly damp cloth, or by Doro approved disinfectants.
Do not use other solvents when cleaning.
Note! By ordering a complete housing set you can upgrade
your used radio trigger to look as brand new.
Reinstatement
If the Doro Eliza is reinstated at a new user, it shall be reset
to default sengs and re-programmed according to the data
and requirements of the new user.
Replace the baery
Baery should be replaced within three years, or a.s.a.p aer
baery alarm that is not related to a power cut. It's normal
that a long-term power cut generates a baery alarm.
Replace the radio trigger baery
To replace the radio trigger's baery, please refer to the
service manual or contact your supplier.
CAUTION
Baery replacement may be performed only by
authorised persons in accordance with the instrucons in
service manual.
