Designated use

Function block SPC200−PC" serves for reading and writing

parameters of the SPC200 from a Simatic S7 controller with

PROFIBUS. For this purpose it uses the SPC200 parameter

channel (PC = parameter channel). The SPC200 must be

connected to the S7 by means of field bus module type

SPC200−COM−PDP.

Basic components and modules for the SPC200 are described

in the user manual type P.BE−SPC200−... . The safety

instructions specified in the manuals must always be

observed and the relevant components and modules must

only be used as intended. Please observe also the safety

instructions listed in the operating instructions for the

pneumatic components used. The SPC200 and the modules

and cables to be connected are only to be used as follows:

inaccordance with designated use

 only in industrial applications

 without any modifications by the user. Only the conver

sions or modifications described in the documentation

supplied with the product are permitted.

nents, such as sensors and actuators, the specified limits for

pressures, temperatures, electrical data, torques etc. must be

observed. National and local safety regulations must also be

observed.

Note also the Siemens specifications regarding the use of

their PLC Simatic S7.

Basic principles of programmed software

Please note that it is not possible with the present state of

technology to create programmed software which functions

without problems and is compatible with all applications and

combinations intended by the user.

As a rule the software must therefore be used in the desig

nated manner as specified in the program description and in

the user instructions.

At the moment when the software is transferred or made

available, it is in a state in which it will function under normal

operating and application conditions.

Festo does not guarantee that the software will suffice for all

applications and purposes intended by the user, or that it will

function without problems when used with other programs,

or that it is compatible with these programs. The responsibil

ity for the correct selection and the consequences of using

the software within the scope of use defined by the user, as

well as for the intended and achieved results therefore lies

with the user. The same applies to the written material sup

plied with the software.

The use of the programmed software does not exempt you as

customer from your duties and responsibility for observing

and adhering to technical machine and safety regulations as

well as for a comprehensive functional check.

Target group

This manual is intended exclusively for technicians trained in

control and automation technology, who have experience in

installing, commissioning, programming and diagnosing

PROFIBUS−DP slaves.

The SPC200−PC user manual contains all necessary informa

tion on commissioning the SPC200_PC function block.

Siemens

When reference is made in this manual to documents from

Siemens, this means basically Step 7 version 5.1 (service

pack 1). Other versions of Step 7 may differ from that de

scribed in this manual.

Necessary firmware versions

Function block SPC200 requires the following firmware ver

sions:

 SPC200 firmware as from version 4.6

PROFIBUSmodule SPC200−COM−PDP as from version 2.0

 GSD file as from revised version 05.03.2003

 WinPISA as from version 4.31

Earlier versions of the SPC200 or PROFIBUS module do not

support communication with the function block.

1.1 Incorporating the function block in your project

Step 1

·Install a SPC200 in the Hardware Manager and incorpor

ate the parameter channel in the I/O configuration.

Step 2

·Dearchivate the project which contains the function block.

In order to do this, you must select the menu item [File]

[Dearchivate] in the Simatic Manager and specify the

zip−file:

 FB1_PKW.ZIP

Please note

Always use the Dearchivate" function of the Simatic

Manager in order to expand the zip−file.

Step 3

·Open the FB1_PKW project. Select the FB1 SPC200−PC"

in the folder Blocks" and copy it with [Edit] [Copy].

Step 4

·Change your project and paste the function block. If there

is already an FB1 in your project, you must assign a

different function block number to the function block

SPC200−PC.

Step 5

·If this is not yet the case, add also the system function

blocks SFC14 and SFC15 to your project. These are

required by function block SPC200−PC.

Step 6

·Add the access to the FB1 to your sequence program. In

order to do this, you must specify an instance data block.

As this is not yet available, the STEP 7 software askes

whether this should be created. You must confirm this

question.

Caution

You require for one SPC200 only one instance data block.

With this instance data block all axes of the SPC200 can be

addressed.

For each additional SPC200 in the network you will require

another instance data block.

Rule:

Each PKW I/O module in the Hardware Manager requires one

intance data block.
