Mit Gegenlicht scannt die Checkbox das Prüfteil als Schatten vor hellem Hinter
grund. Der Sensor blickt direkt auf die Lichtquelle. Diese Anordnung bietet sich
vor allem an, wenn das Prüfteil einen großen Abstand zum Sensor hat oder eine
glänzende Oberfläche besitzt. Vorteil: Die Aufzeichnung wird nicht durch die
Objektoberfläche beeinflusst; die Lichtquelle wird effizient genutzt.
Mit Auflicht wird das Prüfteil aus Richtung der Checkbox frontal beleuchtet. Gut
reflektierende Objekte erscheinen dabei hell vor dunklem Hintergrund. Auflicht−
Beleuchtung wird vor allem dann eingesetzt, wenn hinter dem Prüfteil keine
Beleuchtung montiert werden kann.
Elektrischer Anschluss der Beleuchtung
SBeachten Sie beim elektrischen Anschluss der Beleuchtung
 die der verwendeten Beleuchtung beiliegende Dokumentation,
 die Hinweise zur Spannungsversorgung externer Komponenten in der
Beschreibung Typ P.BE−CB−COMP−... .
Hinweis
Unter folgenden Bedingungen können Verbraucher über den Pin 4 (GND) und
Pin 7 (+24 V) am Anschluss PLC mit Spannung versorgt werden:
SSchließen Sie nur Verbraucher an, die den gesamten Strom wieder zur
CHB−C−... zurückliefern. Sie verhindern so, dass Asymmetrien der Ströme in
Hin− und Rückleitung die Wirkung des eingebauten Filters herabsetzen.
SBelasten Sie den Ausgang Pin 7 mit maximal 700 mA.
SBeachten Sie, dass der max. Summenstrom über alle Ausgänge 1 A nicht
überschreiten darf.
Einstellung des Aufnahmeabstandes und des Objektives
Die CHB−C−F wird werkseitig vormontiert mit einem Standard−Weitwinkel Objektiv
25,0 mm/F 1,4 ausgeliefert. Sie hat einen Standard− Anschluss für Objektive an
CCD−Kameras, entsprechend der CMount−Anschlussnorm.
 Anschlussgewinde am Objektiv: Außengewinde 1"−32UN−2A
 Auflagemaß von 17,5 mm.

Das Auflagemaß definiert den Abstand zwischen CCD−Chip und der Auflagefläche
des Objektivs. Die Auflagefläche ist die Fläche, mit der das Objektiv am Aufnahme
gewinde des (Kamera−)Gehäuses aufliegt. Das Objektiv ist im Rahmen des
CMount−Standards so berechnet, dass die Bildebene genau um das Auflagemaß
hinter der Auflagefläche und damit genau auf der CCD−Chip−Oberfläche liegt.
Bei Bedarf kann durch Austausch des Objektivs das Abbildungsverhalten aufga
benspezifisch angepasst werden. Die nachfolgenden Angaben beziehen sich auf
die mitgelieferte Optik.
Werkseitig wird die CHB−C−F mit Objektiv−Verlängerung und voreingestelltem
Objektiv ausgeliefert:

Objektive für Bildverarbeitungsanwendungen haben ihre optimale Abbildungs−
leistung bei einem kurzen Objektabstand. Die minimale Objektdistanz MOD ist der
kürzeste Abstand (zwischen der vordersten Linse und dem Motiv), der mit dem
Fokusring scharf gestellt werden kann. Um die MOD zu verkleinern kann mit
Zwischenringen oder Verlängerungstubus die Distanz zwischen Objektiv und
CCD−Sensor vergrößert werden.
Die maximale Objektdistanz verringert sich dabei stärker als die minimale Objekt−
distanz, so dass bei starker Objektiv−Verlängerung keine Fokussierung über den
Fokusring des Objektives mehr möglich ist. Die Schärfeeinstellung erfolgt dann
durch Anpassung des Aufnahmeabstandes.
SVerwenden Sie die in der nachfolgenden Tabelle genannten Werte zu Fokus
lage und Sichtfeld als Anhaltswerte zur Ermittlung des Aufnahmeabstandes.
SJustieren Sie ggf. den Aufnahmeabstand über die Schwalbenschwanz−Befesti
gung der Checkbox.
SVerwenden Sie die Software CheckKon oder CheckOpti zur Überprüfung und
Optimierung der Einstellungen.

Falls Ihre Anwendung eine andere Objektiveinstellung erfordert:
1. Schrauben Sie den Schutztubus vom Objektiv. Achten Sie darauf, dass der
Dichtring am Tubus−Gewinde nicht herunterfällt.
Hinweis
Behandeln Sie nach der Entfernung des Schutztubus das Objektiv der Kamera
sorgfältig.
SVermeiden Sie Verschmutzungen. Arbeiten Sie in sauberer Umgebung.
SBerühren Sie nicht die Linse des Objektivs.
Zum Austausch der Zwischenringe:
2. Schrauben Sie das Objektiv am Gehäuse der Checkbox ab.
3. Schrauben Sie die vorhandenen Zwischenringe vom Objektiv ab.
4. Schrauben Sie ggf. andere Zwischenringe auf das Objektiv
(max. zulässige Objektiv−Verlängerung: 14 mm).
Zur Einstellung von Blende und Fokus:
5. Lösen Sie die Fixierschrauben für Fokus− und Blendenring.
6. Passen Sie die Fokus− und ggf. die Blenden−Einstellung an.
7. Ziehen Sie die Fixierschrauben nach der Einstellung wieder fest. Dadurch
bleibt auch bei vibrierender Umgebung die Einstellung der Optik erhalten.
Hinweis
Die Schutzart IP64 ist nur gewährleistet, wenn der Schutztubus richtig montiert
ist.
SBeachten Sie, dass der Schutztubus nur montiert werden kann, wenn das
Objektiv nicht mehr als 14 mm verlängert ist.
SPrüfen Sie, ob der Dichtring am Tubus−Gewinde vorhanden ist und korrekt in
der Nut sitzt.
SDrehen Sie den Schutztubus fest.

Ergänzende Information zur Wartung und Reinigung
Hinweis
Eine einwandfreie Funktion der Checkbox−Optik ist nur bei sauberen und un−
zerkratzten Glasflächen gewährleistet. Schützen Sie das Objektiv mit dem mit
gelieferten Tubus. Sie vermeiden dadurch Beschädigungen, die zu Funktions
störungen der Checkbox führen.
SAchten Sie darauf, dass die Glasfläche am Schutztubus nicht zerkratzt;
benutzen Sie keine scheuernden Reinigungsmittel.
SReinigen Sie bei Verschmutzungen oder Ablagerungen die Glasfläche am
Schutztubus mit einem weichen, angefeuchteten Tuch und schonendem
Reinigungsmittel.

With counterlighting the Checkbox scans the test part as a shadow in front of a
bright background. The sensor looks directly at the source of light. This arrange
ment is to be recommended if the test part is at a long distance from the sensor or
if it has a shiny surface. Advantages: Recording is not influenced by the surface of
the object; the source of light is used efficiently.
With direct light the test part is illuminated frontally from the direction of the
Checkbox. Objects which reflect well therefore appear bright on a dark back
ground. Direct light illumination is used mainly in cases where light cannot be
mounted behind the test part.
Electrical connection of the illumination
SWhen connecting the illumination please note:
 the documentation supplied with the illumination
 the instructions on the power supply of external components in the manual
type P.BE−CB−COMP−... .
Please note
Under the following conditions, current−consuming devices can be supplied
with power via pin 4 (GND) and pin 7 (+ 24 V) on the PLC connection.
SConnect only current−consuming devices which return the complete current
to the CHB−C−... . In this way you can prevent asymmetries of the currents in
the outgoing and return lines from reducing the effect of the filter.
SLoad output pin 7 with maximum 700 mA.
SNote that the maximum sum current of all outputs must not exceed 1 A.
Setting the recording distance and the lens
The CHB−C−F is fitted at the factory with a standard 25.0 mm/f 1.4 wide−angle lens.
It has a standard connection for lenses on CCD cameras, complying with the
CMount standard.

The support mass defines the distance between the CCD chip and the support
surface of the lens. The support surface is the surface with which the lens lies on
the location thread of the (camera) housing. The lens has been calculated within
the framework of the CMount standard, so that the picture level lies exactly the
distance of the support mass behind the support surface and therefore exactly on
the CCD chip surface.
If required, the lens can be exchanged so that the photographing procedure can be
adapted to the specific task. The following specifications refer to the lens supplied.

Lenses for picture processing applications have their optimum exposure perform
ance at a short distance from the object. The minimum object distance MOD is the
shortest distance (distance between the front line and the motive) which can be
focussed sharply with the focal ring.In order to reduce the MOD, you can use inter
mediate rings or extension tubes to increase the distance between the lens and the
CCD sensor.
The maximum object distance is reduced more than the minimum object distance,
so that with greater lens extension it is no longer possible to focus via the focal
ring of the lens.Focussing then takes place by adaption of the exposure distance.
SUse the values for focussing and for the viewing range listed in the following
table as reference values for ascertaining the exposure distance.
SIf necessary, adjust the exposure distance by means of the dove−tail fastening
of the Checkbox.
SUse the CheckKon or CheckOpti software for checking and optimizing the
settings.

If your application requires a different lens setting:
1. Unscrew and remove the protective tube from the lens. Make sure that the
sealing ring on the tube thread does not fall down.
Please note
Handle the camera lens with great care after removing the perotective tube.
SAvoid dirt. Work in a clean environment.
SDo not touch the glass of the lens.
Replacing the intermediate rings:
2. Unscrew the lens from the housing of the Checkbox.
3. Unscrew and remove the intermediate rings from the lens.
4. If necessary, screw other intermediate rings onto the lens (max. permitted lens
extension: 14 mm).
Setting the aperture and focus:
5. Loosen the fastening screws for the focal ring and the aperture.
6. Adapt the focal setting and, if necessary, the aperture setting.
7. Tighten the fastening screws again after the setting. In this way, the setting of
the lens will be maintained even in an environment subjected to vibration.
Please note
Protection class IP64 is only fulfilled if the protective tube is fitted corrrectly.
SNote that the protective tube can only be fitted if the lens is extended not
more than 14 mm.
SMake sure that the sealing ring is on the tube thread and that it sits correctly
in the groove.
STighten the protective tube.

Supplementary information on maintenance and cleaning
Please note
Faultless functioning of the Checkbox optics is only guaranteed if the glass
surfaces are clean and are not scratched. Protect the lens with the tube
supplied. You will then avoid damage which could lead to malfunctioning of the
Checkbox.
SMake sure that the glass surface on the protective tube is not scratched; do
not use any abrasive cleaning agents.
SIf the glass surface on the protective tube is dirty or if there are dirt deposits
