TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Yourcooktopoffersa widerangeoftemperaturesettingsfrom delicateslow cookingto the
intensehottemperaturesneededforboilingandsearing.Asthecontrolknobisturned
clockwise,the heatoutputisincreased.Turnthe controlknobto the HIsettingtobegin
cookingandadjustasnecessary.
Thecontrolknobmustbepusheddownto turnitfrom theOFFposition.Whenthecontrol
knobsareinanypositionotherthanOFF,they maybe turnedwithoutpushingdown.
Theelementsare controlledbyvariableenergyregulatorsgivinginfinitecontrol. Thereis
no 'stop'at the lowmarking,thisis toallowyouto experimentatfindingtheminimumheat
forthosedelicatecookingtasks. (Thepowerleveldropsoff rapidlyto zerobelowthe LO
marking).TheHIsettingisidealforboiling,searingorfrying. Forgeneralcookingpurposes
turnthecontrolknobto theHIsettingto begincookingandadjustasnecessary.Onceyour
panis hot,reducethe temperatureto maintaina steadyheatto cookyourfoodthrough.
Cookingefficiencywill varydueto thedifferenttypesof cookingutensilsused. Cooking
resultsareinfluencedbypotqualityandsize. It isessentialthat potsizematchesthe
diameterofthecookingzone. Useflat bottomutensilsof goodquality.Poorperformanceis

Selectthefull elementbyturningthe knobcounterclockwiseto HI. Toheattheinnerelementonly,
turnclockwiseto HI.
HOTSURFACEINDICATORS
Theindicatorlight glows red (GC901)or white (GC901M)wheneveran elementis on. After the
element hasbeen turnedoff, the indicatorwill glow amber(GC901)or red (GC901M)untilthe
elementsurfacehascooleddownto a temperaturethat issafeto touch.

SUPERS/MMER (CE901Monly)
Thefront rightelementofyourcooktop/hobisfittedwith a uniquesimmercontrol.This
allowstheelementto beturneddownto averylow andevenpowersetting(25watts
comparedwith 60 watts onotherelements).Theselowersettingsareidealfor melting
chocolateandbutter,cookingriceanddelicatesaucesandsimmeringsoupsandstews. It
canalsobeusedasa 'warm zone'for keepingcookedfoodhot. TheSupersimmerelement
isjust aspowerful(1200W)in thetop heatrangeasthe samesizestandardelement
(lefthandrearelement)allowingfoodto bebrowned,seared,sauteedor boiledbefore
simmeringall onthesameelement.
