2 Product liability

In accordance with the liability of the manufacturer for his products as dened in the German "Product Liability

Act", the information contained in this brochure (product information and proper use, misuse, product perfor-

mance, product maintenance, obligations to provide information and instructions) is to be observed. Failure to

comply releases the manufacturer from his statutory liability.

3 Safety notices

3.1 Intended use

àThe Slimdrive SL NT GGS and Slimdrive SL NT-FR GGS is only suitable for use

àin dry rooms

àin automatic door systems for horizontally moving door leaves

àin entrances and interior areas of pedestrian trac in commercial plants and public areas.

àThe Slimdrive SL NT GGS and the Slimdrive SL NT-FR GGS may not be used as a re or smoke protection door.

àThe Slimdrive SL NT-FR GGS is approved for use in escape and rescue routes.

àThe Slimdrive SL NT GGS may not be used as an escape and rescue path door.

3.2 Safety notices

àThe mandatory installation, maintenance and repair work must be performed by properly trained personnel

authorised by GEZE.

àThe country-specic laws and regulations are to be observed during safety-related tests.

àGEZE shall not be liable for injuries or damage resulting from unauthorised modication of the system, and

the approval for use in escape and rescue routes is voided when unauthorised changes are made (Slimdrive SL

NT-FR GGS).

àGEZE makes no guarantee for combinations with third-party products.

àFurthermore, only original GEZE parts may be used for repair and maintenance work.

àThe connection to the power supply must be made by a professional electrician. Perform the power connec-

tion and equipment earth conductor test in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610.

àUse an on-site 10-A overload cut-out as the line-side disconnecting device.

àProtect the display programme switch against unauthorised access.

àThe detection eld of the movement detector in the direction of emergency exit must comply with the

AutSchR directive (for Slimdrive SL NT-FR GGS).

àIn compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, a risk analysis must be performed and the door system

identied in accordance with CE Marking Directive 93/68/EEC before the door system is commissioned.

Safety notices

àObserve the latest versions of directives, standards and country-specic regulations, in particular:

àVDE 0100, Part 610 "Installing Electrical Power Systems with Nominal Voltages up to 1000 V"

àAutSchR "Directive for automatic windows, doors and gates" (for Slimdrive SL NT-FR GGS)

àAccident-prevention regulations, especially BGV A1 "Principles of prevention" and DGUV provision 3 DA "Im-

plementation instructions for the accident prevention regulations for electrical systems and equipment"

àDIN EN 60335-2-103 "Safety of electrical devices for home use and similar purposes; special requirements

for drives, for gates, doors and windows"

3.3 Safety-conscious working

àSecure workplace against unauthorised entry.

àWatch swivelling range of long system parts.

àNever carry out work with a high safety risk (e.g. installing the drive, cover or door leaf) while alone.

àSecure the hood/drive panels against falling.

àUse only the cables prescribed in the cable plan provided. Ground the shields in compliance with the wiring

diagram.

àSecure loose, internal drive cables with cable ties.

àBefore working on the electrical system:

àdisconnect the drive from the 230 V mains and check to ensure that it is not supplied with power.

àdisconnect the control unit from the 24-V rechargeable battery.

ànote that if an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is used, the system will still be supplied with power de-

spite the fact that the power supply is disconnected.

àAlways use insulated wire-end ferrules for wire cores.

àAttach safety stickers to glass leaves (Mat. no. 081476).

àDanger of injury with opened drive. Hair, clothing, cables, etc. can be drawn in by rotating parts.

àDanger of injury caused by unsecured crushing, impact, drawing-in or shearing spots!

àDanger of injury due to broken glass!

àDanger of injury due to sharp edges in the drive!

àDanger of injury during installation through freely moving parts!

3.4 Inspection of the installed system

Measures for safeguarding and prevention of pinching, impact, shearing or drawing-in spots:

àCheck the functioning of safety sensors and movement detectors.

àThe detection eld of the movement detector in the direction of the emergency exit must cover the opening

width x 1.5 m in front of the door.

àThe movement detector in the direction of the emergency exit (see AutSchR) must detect people moving

faster than 0.1 m/s.

àCheck protective earth connection to all metal parts that can be touched.

3.5 Environmentally conscious working

àWhen disposing of the door system, separate the dierent materials and have them recycled.

àDo not dispose of batteries and storage cells with household waste.

àComply with the statutory regulations when disposing of the door system and the batteries and storage cells.

4 Installation

4.1 Mounting the moving leaf

XMount the leaf suspensions (1).

XTighten the screws (2) with 11–13 Nm.





XGlue the transparent bumpers (3) to the top and

bottom of the moving leaves.



4.2 Install the oor guide (version with no side part)

XEnsure that the bonding surface in the oor

guide (4) is clean and free of grease.

XRemove the foil (3) from the felt (1) and (2).

XAdhere felt (1) and (2) to the oor guide (4).







XWhen installing the oor guide (4), ensure that

the thicker felt (3) is facing the wall (2) and that

the thinner felt (5) is adhered to the side facing

away from the wall.

XScrew tight the oor guide (4) using the xing

method indicated.



4.3 Install the oor guide and side parts

4.3.1 Mounting the oor guide

XEnsure that the bonding surface is clean and

free of grease.

XGlue the felt (1) to the oor guide bracket (2). 



XReduce the felt (3) to 15 mm.

XGlue the felt (3) to the end of the side part rail

(4) 4.5mm above the oor.









XPosition the oor guide bracket (2) onto the side

part rail (3) and tighten it.





4.3.2 Mounting side parts

Preparation

XScrew the side part blocks (1) over the recesses

(2) of the side part (3) onto the track.







XGlue the self-adhesive rubber strips (4) onto the

track under the side part blocks (1).





CAUTION!

Danger of injury by side part falling over!

XSecure the side part (3) against falling over.

XLay the glazing blocks (5) into the lower side

part rail (6).

XPlace the side part (3) onto the glazing blocks in

the lower side part rail (6).







XScrew the side part plates (8) onto the side part

blocks (1).

The side parts are clamped tight.





XSlide 2 glazing gaskets (7) between the side part

rail (6) and the side part.





 

 

Moving leaf side

XScrew the cover caps (9) onto the side part rails.



4.3.3 Making a recess in the side plates

XCarry out the work on site to ensure a good optical impression.

XIf necessary, make recesses in the side panels (1) for the side parts and/or moving leaves (see arrow).


