TROUBLESHOOTING
The following is a list of incon eniences which may occur during the use of the tracked carrier,
which the operator himself can remedy.
1) if the petrol engine does not start check:
– that the fuel tank is at least half full;
– that the petrol cock is turned on;
– that the choke is engaged (when the engine is cold);
– that fuel is normally going to the carburettor;
– that the ent hole on the fuel tank is not blocked;
– that the mesh filter at the carburettor intake is clean;
– that the carburettor jets are clean. Check by unscrewing them and if dirty, clean them with a jet of
air;
– that spark plug is generating a spark. To check this, remo e the spark plug, re-connect it to the
electricity supply wire, rest the metal side on an electrical earth and turn the engine-pulley as if to
start it. If no spark is seen between the electrodes, check the connection of the spark plug cable; if
there is still no current replace the spark plug with a new one. If a spark is still not obtained, the
problem is in the electric system: capacitor, coil, or in some other component. Contact your nearest
ser ice centre or a specialist workshop.
2) if the diesel engine does not start, check:
– that the fuel tank ent hole is not blocked;
– that the fuel tank is at least half full.
3) if the diesel engine cannot be switched off:
– check that the OFF button located on the right side of the handlebar (fig. 23, no. 1) is fully
pressed down.
– check that the electric wire to switch off is correctly connected to the engine.
IN CASE OF LONG IDLE PERIODS
Should the machine not be used for a long time:
- fully empty the fuel tank.
- thoroughly clean both the engine and the tracked carrier.
- dismount the battery, store it in a dry en ironment and charge it at least once a month.

MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
CAUTION!
- Disconnect t e plug before performing any cleaning, maintenance or repair operation.
Always wear suitable clot ing and working gloves.
- W en t e mac ine or part of it is lifted to carry out maintenance operations, always
remember to use suitable fixing tools suc as olders and safety locks.
- W en carrying out maintenance operations and/or w en t e mac ine is tilted wit out
safety locks or supports, never leave it unguarded in places w ere inexperienced people
and c ildren could ave easy access to it.
- Protect t e environment: carefully dispose of used oils, petrol and any ot er pollutant
product!
- Effective maintenance and correct lubrication elp to keep t e mac ine fully efficient.
Note: all checks ha e to be carried out with the machine in horizontal position.
ENGINE OIL
Follow the instructions on lubrication inter als in the relati e manual. In general users are ad ised
to check the oil le el e ery 4 working hours and replace it e ery 100 hours (fig. 11).
ENGINE AIR FILTER
Check the filter e ery 8 working hours. For engines equipped with a dry air filter replace the
cartridge when it is too clogged (do not use compressed air to clean it). For engines equipped with
oil-bath filter, add or replace oil. Use the same oil as for the engine.
TRACK ROLLERS
- Frequently grease the track roller pins (fig. 10)
- Frequently check the track roller tension
The truck capacity is 500 kg, but users are ad ised to consider the terrain on which the ehicle is
to be used when deciding the load which can be transported. Remember that since this is a
tracked carrier ehicle, it pitches considerably on humps, curbs and steps. When crossing such
obstacles, use low gears and take special care; engage a low gear and retain it until back on le el
ground. If the machine is stopped on steep slopes, when releasing the le er (fig. 8, pos. D) the
parking brake is automatically engaged. Although the truck has rubber tracks, remember to take
care in difficult en ironmental conditions (ice, hea y rain or snow) or on terrains which might make
the ehicle unstable.
RUBBER CRAWLER TRACKS – PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
1) TRACK TENSION
1) When the machine is lifted off the ground, the rubber tracks must sag by 10-15 mm as shown in
the diagram.
10-15 mm
2) When the track becomes slack, it must be adjusted ia the adjusting screw (fig. 7)
14

Translation of the original instructions
2) PRECAUTIONS WHEN DRIVING
1) A oid jerky operations when the crawler truck is in motion.
2) Keep the rubber crawler track away from sharp edges of concrete etc.
3) Cracks on the outside surface of the rubber track (in contact with the ground) are ery often due
to contact with gra el, sharp stones and sharp materials such as sheet metal, nails and glass.
3) AVOID SUDDEN CHANGES IN DIRECTION
Sharp turns on concrete surfaces or excessi e accelerations which generate high friction
coefficients must be a oided since they might cause cuts in the rubber.
4) AVOID CONTAMINATION WITH OIL
Fuels and hydraulic fluids must ne er come into contact with the rubber crawler track. If this should
occur clean imemdiately.
5) REPLACING THE SPROCKET
If abrasions and wear are noted on the sprocket, it must be replaced as soon as possible since in
these conditions it might cause abrasion or re eal the metal core.
6) OPERATING TEMPERATURE
The ideal operating temperature for the rubber crawler track is between -25° and 55° C
ADJUSTMENT OF THE STEERING LEVERS
When pulling the steering le er to turn right (5R) the right hammer inside the gearbox (fig.
12) lock the hole of the crown gear and block the track traction. In the meantime the right
track brake will be engaged. When the le er is released the hammer gets out of the crown
gear, the brake is unlocked and the machine goes forward again.
Should the machine not turn properly or should the le er not come back to its original
position once released, adjust the self-locking nut placed on the hammer rod (fig. 12) and
on the brake rod (fig. 14).
When the steering le er is not engaged (5R – 5L) the hammer should not lock the gear
crown (fig. 12) and the brake must not be blocked (fig. 14).
TRACTION BELT TIGHTENER
Check that the belt tightener has sufficient freeplay to a oid pulling the belt into stop position.
During work the belt tightener retrun spring must be tensioned (fig. 15). CAUTION: THE
ROTATION OF BOTH THE BELT AND THE PULLEYS IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS, THIS CHECK
MUST BE ABSOLUTELY CARRIED OUT WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF.
