Data Protecon
During the use of device, personal data will be collected, stored and processed. To
protect data, the development of Hikvision devices incorporates privacy by design
principles. For example, for device with facial recognion features, biometrics data
is stored in your device with encrypon method; for fingerprint device, only
fingerprint template will be saved, which is impossible to reconstruct a fingerprint
image.
As data controller, you are advised to collect, store, process and transfer data in
accordance with the applicable data protecon laws and regulaons, including
without limitaon, conducng security controls to safeguard personal data, such as,
implemenng reasonable administrave and physical security controls, conduct
periodic reviews and assessments of the effecveness of your security controls.

Notes:
The installaon height here is the recommended height. You can change it according to your actual needs.
You can also install the device on the wall or other places without the gang box. For details,
refer to the User Manual.
For easy installaon, drill holes on mounng surface according
to the supplied mounng template.
Drill holes on the wall or other surface according to the mounng template and install the
gang box (80 mm × 80 mm).
Use two supplied screws to secure the mounng plate on the gang box.
Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounng plate on the wall.
Route the cables through the cable hole of the mounng plate, and connect to the
corresponding external devices’ cables.
Cover the interfaces with the supplied back sheet and secure the sheet with three screws.
Note: Apply Silicone sealant among the wiring hole to keep the raindrop from entering.
Remove the screw at the boom of the device, and align the terminal with the mounng
plate and buckle them together.
Use a hex wrench to fasten the screw at the boom.
Before you start:
1. According to the baseline on the mounng template, sck the mounng template on
the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.
2. Connect the supplied cable to the device terminals on the device rear panel.

Notes:
When connecng door contact and exit boon, the device and the RS-485 card reader
should use the common ground connecon.
The Wiegand termianl here is a Wiegand input terminal. You should set the face recognion
terminal’s Wiegand direcon to “Input”. If you should connect to an access controller, you
should set the Wiegand direcon to “Output”. For details, see Seng Wiegand Parameters in
Communicaon Sengs.
The Min. power cable’s diameter: 18 AWG.
The power cable’s rated current is 3 A, while other cable’s rated current is 1 A.

Activation
Activating via Device
Power on and wire the network cable aer installaon. You should acvate the device
before the first login.
If the device is not acvated yet, it will enter the Acvate Device page aer powering on.
Steps:
1. Create a password and confirm the password.
2. Tap Acvate to acvate the device.
Note: For other acvaon methods, see the device user manual.
1. Tap the sengs icon at the lower right corner of the inial
page and input the acvaon password to enter the main page.
2. Enter the User Management page, tap + to enter the Add User
page.
4. Tap Face and collect the face informaon according to the
instrucons.
You can view the captured picture at the upper right corner of
the page. Make sure the face picture is in good quality and size.
For details about the ps and posions when collecng or
comparing the face picture, see the contents on the right.
5. If the picture is in good condion, tap Save to save the picture.
Or tap Try Again to take another face picture.
6. Tap to save the sengs.
Go back to the inial page to start authencaon.

fingerprint related funcons.
Recommended:
Use 1:1 Face Matching when the face is hard to recognize.
Use other authencaon methods if the device if affected by the light
or other items.
1:1 Matching: The device will compare the captured face picture with
the ones in the database.
1:N Matching: The device will compare the captured face picture with
the input employee ID linked face picture.

Device Wiring (With Secure Door Control Unit)
Keep your expression naturally when collecng or comparing face pictures,
just like the expression in the picture on the right.
In order to get a good quality and accurate face picture, posion your face
looking at the camera when collecng or comparing face pictures.
Do not wear hat, sunglasses, or other accessories
that can affect the facial recognion funcon.
Do not make your hair cover your eyes, ears, etc.
and heavy makeup is not allowed.
STRONG PASSWORD RECOMMENDED–
We highly recommend you create a strong password of your own choosing
(using a minimum of 8 characters, including upper case leers, lower case
leers, numbers, and special characters) in order to increase the security of
your product. And we recommend you reset your password regularly,
especially in the high security system, reseng the password monthly or
weekly can beer protect your product.
