CONFIGURING THE KEGS5000 FOR STANDALONE OR SLAVE USE
The KEGS5000 has two versions of firmware loaded. Stand Alone and Slave
Standalone Firmware is the default operating mode and is intended for the direct control of
KD6 domes and Ultrak multiplexes
Slave firmware is intended to operate in two different modes.
Mode1: KSX3208L matrix and MXSYS04E controller mode.
Mode2 : Maxpro MAX1000 control (Slave firmware version 2.02.36 or later)
Note: Earlier versions of the slave firmware do not support Maxpro Mode. Should this mode be
required download the firmware and instructions from the Ultrak website

Checking
the version
of firmware
To determine which version of firmware the KEGS5000 is running cycle the power and check
the LCD display for one of the following sequences.

1. Cycle power on the KEGS5000.

2. Before the counter reaches zero. Press the 1 key.

3. Enter the password 1994
4. Use the arrows key under the LCD display to select
Slave Mode. Press Enter to run this mode. or
<Run Bank>
Slave Mode
Note: this mode is for use with the KSX3208L, MXSYS04E or
MAX1000
5. Use the arrows key under the LCD display to select
Standalone Mode. Press Enter to run this mode. <Run Bank>
Standalone Mode
Note: this mode is for use with the KD6 domes and Ultrak
multiplexes

The KEGS5000 must be running the Slave firmware as described above.

1. Cycle power on the KEGS5000.

2. Let the conter reach zero.
3. While the version number is displayed press the Menu
button (Middle button under LCD Display) KEGS5000 Slave
040112 V2.02.36
Note: The version number only dsplays for 2 seconds. Should
you miss this time window then recycle the power and
start again.
KB Mode: Slave
1: Slave 2: Maxpro
4. Select the mode using the 1 or 2 key.
1 is for Slave mode (KSX32080 and MXSYS04E use)
2 is for use with Maxpro MAX1000
5. Press Enter when done.
Stick Range: Hi
1: Hi 2:Lo
6. Select the Joystick range. Use Hi for KSX32080 and
MXSYS04E use. Use Hi or Lo for Maxpro use.
Press Enter when done.
7. Select the Baud rate. Use 19k2 for Maxpro and 9600
for KSX32080 and MXSYS04E use.
Press enter when done Baud Rate: 19K2
