１ チェーンの切断したい個所に本器をセットします。
ガイドをインナーリンクの間に十分に差し込みます。
※ 決してしぶり取りガイドを差し込まないでください。
本器が破損する原因となります。

２ チェーンがガイドから外れないように指
で押さえながらハンドルを時計方向にま
わします。
チェーンを切断するには、チェーンピンを抜ききってしまう場合と、アウターリンクに残して
おく場合が ります。チェーンメーカーの指示に従ってください。
スポーツ車用チェーンの場合は、そのほとんどがチェーンピンを抜ききって作業するよう
に指示されています。

３ 本器のピンがチェーンピンの中心に当
たるのを確認しながら、ハンドルを更に
まわしてピンを進めます。
チェーンピンをアウターリンクプレートに
残す場合は、押し出しているチェーンピ
ンの様子を都度確かめながら進めてく
ださい。

４ チェーンピンが適切な位置まで押し出
されたのを確認し、ハンドルを反時計方
向にまわして、本器のピンの先端をアウ
ターリンクプレートの手前まで戻します。

５ チェーンが切断されて不用意に暴れな
いように注意しながら、本器をチェーン
から取り外します。

意しながらハンドルをまわしてチェーン
ピンをゆっくりと圧入します。
チェーンピンが適切な位置まで圧入さ
れたのを確認し、ハンドルを反時計方
向にまわしてピンを後退させ、本器を
チェーンから取り外します。
チェーンが正しく接続できたか確認して
ください。
必要に応じて“しぶり調整”を行って、ス
ムーズにチェーンが動くようにしてくださ
い（７ページ参照）。

本器のハンドルを反時計方向にまわし
てピンを後退させ、チェーンとアンプル
ピンをセットできる空間作ります。
チェーンを仮止めし、チェーンピンの切
断部を本器のピンが押すように、本器
のピンとチェーンピンが一直線になるよ
うに、本器をチェーンに設置します（
のように本器をこれまでとは反対向きに
設置します）。
ハンドルを時計方向にまわして、ピン先
端をチェーンピン切断部の中心に当て
ます。
さらにハンドルをまわしてチェーンピンの
切断部をつぶしてかしめます。
確実にかしめられたのを目で見て確認
してください。
チェーンが正しく接続できたか確認して
ください。
問題がなければ作業は終了です。
カシメアタッチメントを外してグリップ内
に戻してください。

チェーンのしぶりの る個所に、本器の
しぶり取りガイド部を設置します。
本器のハンドルを時計方向にまわして
チェーンピンの中心に本器のピンが当
たるまで移動させます。
本器のピンがチェーンピンに当たったこ
とが確認できた状態から、本器のハンド
ルを時計方向に更に１/４～１/２回転
まわします。
本器のハンドルを反時計方向にまわし
てピンを移動させ、本器をチェーンから
取り外してください。
チェーンの動きを確認します。
スムーズに動くようで れば作業を終
了します。

チェーンピンを圧入した個所は、各リンク同士が押さえつけった状態となるため、スムー
ズに動かなくなります。そのため、チェーンの種類によっては“しぶり調整”を行う必要が
ります。
※ 現在のほとんどのスポーツ車用チェーン（外装式多段スプロケット用チェーン）は
“しぶり調整”を行う必要が りません。

しぶり調整用のガイドでチェーンの切断やつなぎ作業を絶対に行わないでください。

本器のグリップ部の端に るキャップを
外し、中の矢を取り出します。
本器のハンドルを反時計方向にまわし、本器から矢
を取り外します。
ハンドルの片翼を保持しながらもう片方を反時計回
りにまわし、矢からハンドルを取り外します。
ネジロック剤を用いて固定して ります。バイス、プラ
イヤーなどを使用して緩めてください。
交換する矢にハンドルを取り付けます。
元のようにネジロック剤で補強することをお勧めします。
ネジ山にグリースなどの潤滑剤を塗布し、矢を本器
に取り付けます。

ピン先端が消耗したり破損したりした場合、矢の交換を行います。

１ Put this tool un er the point of the chain to be
cut. Orient the gui e of this tool between the
inner link plates of chain. (Fig.1)
*Do not use the stiffness release gui e. This
coul amage it.

２ Turn the han le clockwise paying attention
that the chain oes not rop out from the
gui e while pressing with your thumb. (Fig.2)
1. Wear protective gloves when using this tool. Otherwise this coul cause an injury.
2. Always lubricate the screw portions with grease.
3. Do not use for purposes other than with bicycle chains.
4. Do not use when fin ing cracks, breaks, wear or other eformations on this tool.
 Caution
There are two ways of cutting the chain.
Type A: Completely removing the connecting pin.
NOTE: Almost narrow chains are this type.
Type B: Leaving the chain pin in the outer link plate.
Please follow the chain manufacturer’s gui eline.

Always operate checking that the nee le contacts the center of the connecting pin.
Otherwise, this tool or the chain may be broken or the operator may be hurt.

Sometimes burrs like a ring are left on the nee le when
treat some chains. Surely remove these burrs. If continue

pin while being careful, paying attention

８ Break the gui e tip of the reinforce
connecting pin.
Fit the gui e tip into the cavity of this
tool, then wrench the tool to cut off the
gui e while hol ing the chain tightly.

in the grip of this tool, then set it on the
tool as shown in fig.10.

pin carefully, paying attention that the
chain oes not rop out from the gui e.
Turn the han le counterclockwise to
reverse the nee le after making sure
that the connecting pin has been insert-
e to the appropriate point.
Remove this tool from the chain.
Make sure that the chain has been con-
necte properly.
Release stiffness so that the chain runs
smoothly if necessary (See page 7).

connecting pin (hol the tool in the op-
posite irection than before).
Turn the han le clockwise to apply the
tip of the nee le to the center of the
reinforce connecting pin en . (Fig.11)
Turn the han le moreover to peen the
cut portion of the reinforce connecting
pin.
Make sure that the chain has been con-
necte properly.
Return the Peening attachment into the
grip.

Set this tool un er the area where stiff-
ness exists.
Turn the han le clockwise to apply the
tip of the nee le to the center of the
connecting pin en . (Fig.12)
Turn the han le clockwise between 1/4
to 1/2 rotation more after the nee le
touches to the connecting pin.
Turn the han le counterclockwise to
reverse the nee le, then remove this
tool from the chain.
Observe the chain’s movement.
Continue a justing as necessary until
the chain runs smoothly.

●Releasing stiffness
The chain after connecting work can not run smoothly since the link plates are in con i-
tion of being presse each other in the area where the connecting pin is inserte . There-
fore this proce ure is necessary accor ing to types of chains.

Do not work connecting or cutting chains using the stiffness release gui e. If you o,
this tool may break.

How to replace the pin
Take out the replacement pin from the
grip of this tool. (Fig.13)

Replace the pin if the tip of the nee le is worn or amage .

Replacement part
Turn the han le counterclockwise to take out the
amage pin from this tool.
Turn one half of the han le counterclockwise while
hol ing the other si e, then take out han le parts
from amage pin. (Fig.14)
Unscrew them using a vise an pliers, since they
are fixe using screw lock agent.
Attach the han le to the new pin.
Use screw lock agent again to tighten.
Apply grease on the threa when install the pin to
the tool.
