Safety Precautions
Before using the phone, please read the safety precautions
carefully and let your children know these, so that you can use
your phone correctly and safely. For details, see “Warnings and
Precautions”.
Do not switch on your phone when phone use is
prohibited or when phone use may cause interference
or danger.
Do not use your phone while driving.
Follow the rules or regulations in hospitals and health
care facilities. Switch off your phone near medical
apparatus.
Switch off your phone in an aircraft. The phone may
cause interference to control signals of the aircraft.
Switch off your phone near high-precision electronic
devices. The phone may affect the performance of
these devices.
Do not attempt to disassemble your phone or its
accessories. Only qualified personnel are allowed to

Icons
Icon Meaning
Indicates the network signal strength.
The phone is out of the service area.
You have set the alarm clock.
The phone is set to vibration.
You have received a new message.
The phone is roaming.
Indicates the battery power level.
2 Getting Started
Powering On/Off the Phone
Press and hold to power on/off the phone.
Installing the Battery
Removing the Battery
If the phone is powered on, press and hold to power off
the phone first.

Installing/Removing the UIM Card
If the phone is powered on, press and hold to power off
the phone first and remove the battery. Then install/remove the
UIM card as shown in the following figure.
Charging the Battery
1. Connect the travel charger to the charger connector at the
bottom of your phone.
Make sure that the arrow on the charger connector faces the
front side of the phone.
2. Connect the charger to an AC power socket.
3. During the charging, the icon on the upper right corner
of the screen is in an animated status.
4. When the charging icon is blinking, the phone is fully
charged.
5. Disconnect the charger from the AC power socket.
6. Press the gray buttons on both sides of the charger
connector to disconnect the charger from the phone.
Using the Function Menu
1. In the standby mode, press .
2. Press to select a function menu.
3. Press to display the selected menu.

4. Display the submenu by one of the following options:
¾Press to select a submenu and press to
display the selected submenu.
¾Press the number key corresponding to the serial number
of a submenu to display it.
5. Press to return to the previous menu or quit the
function menu.
6. Press to return to the standby screen.
3 Voice Services
Making a Call
1. In the standby mode, press the number keys to enter a
phone number.
2. Press to dial the number.
3. Press to end the call or cancel the dialing.

Note zWhen the phone is locked, you need to enter the
lock code to unlock the phone first; otherwise, you
can dial emergency numbers only
zIn the standby mode, press to view dialed
calls. Select a phone number and press to
dial.
zSelect a contact in the phonebook and press
to dial.
Answering a Call
When there is an incoming call, you can press ,
or to answer it; or you can press to reject it.
zIf the any-key answer function is enabled, you can press any
key except and to answer an incoming call.
zIf the headset auto answer function is enabled, and the
headset is connected to the phone, the incoming call can be
answered automatically.
Options During a Call
Adjusting the Volume
During a call, you can press to adjust the earpiece
volume.
Other Options
During a call, you can press to select the following
options:
zMute: Your voice cannot be heard.
zPrivacy: Encrypt the voice.

zMessages: Display the Messages menu.
zPhonebook: Search for or add a contact.
4 Text Entry
Text Input Mode
Your phone allows you to input English and numbers.
When entering the text, you can change the input mode by
pressing . The supported input modes and their
indicators are shown as follows:
z\: Upper case /lower case predictive English input
mode
z\: Upper case /lower case alphabetical text input
mode
z: Number input mode
Switching the Input Modes
In the editing mode, you can press to switch between
the input modes. The indicator of the current input mode is
displayed in the lower screen.
Note In the editing mode, press once to delete the
letter on the left of the cursor. Press and hold
to delete all the letters at a time.

Entering English
Predictive English Input
In the predictive English input mode, enter the English letters
as follows:
1. Press the number key corresponding to the sequence of the
word.
Then the phone displays the commonly used words
according to the numeric sequence of key presses.
2. Press to scroll to the desired word.
3. Press to select the word with the cursor on the
left/right.
Note zPress to enter a full stop.
zPress to enter a space.
Alphabetical Text Input
In the "ABC" or "abc" text input mode, you can press the
number key labeled with required letters once to enter the first
letter on the key, twice to enter the second letter on the key, and
so on.
Note zPress repeatedly to select and enter the
commonly used punctuations.
zPress once to enter a space, twice to enter
0.
zIf the letter you want to enter is on the same key as
the previous one, you can enter the latter one only
after the cursor appears again or after you press
to move the cursor to the next space.

Entering Numbers
zIn the "123" input mode, you can directly press number keys
labeled with the desired digits.
zIn the "ABC" or "abc" input mode, press a number key
repeatedly or press and hold it until the desired digit appears
on the screen.
zIn the predictive English input mode, press a number key
and then press until the desired digit appears on the
screen.
Entering Symbols
1. Display the symbol list by the following options:
zIn any text input mode, press and hold to display
the symbol list.
zPress to scroll to the screen with the desired symbol.
2. Press the number key corresponding to the selected symbol
to enter it.
5 Message
Writing a Message
To write and send a message to a specific phone number, do as
follows:
1. Select Menu > Messages > Write Message or in the
standby mode press to write a new message.
2. Enter the message content.
The lower screen displays the remaining letters you can
enter.

3. Press for the following options:
zSend: Send the message to the specified recipient.
zSend & Save: Send the message to the specified recipient
and save the message to the outbox.
zSave: Save the message to the outbox.
zInsert Phrase: Insert a predefined phrase into the message.
zInsert PH. NO.: Insert a phone number from the phonebook
into the message.
zInsert Name: Insert a name from the phonebook into the
message.
4. Select Send > Search to search for a recipient’s phone
number in phonebook or enter a phone number.
5. Press to send messages. Alternatively, press
for the following options:
zSend: Send the message to the recipient.
zAdd: Add phone numbers of multiple recipients.
zDelete: Delete the selected recipient.
zAdvance: Select one of the priority levels, including Normal,
Urgent, and Emergency.
6. Select Send to send the message.
6 Phonebook
Adding a New Contact
The new contact will be saved to the current memory in use.
You can add a new contact as follows:
1. Select Menu >Phone Book >New.
2. Enter the phone number and press to confirm.

3. Enter the name and press to save the contact.
Searching for a Contact
The contacts in the phonebook will be ordered in the alphabetic
sequence according to the initial letter of the contact name.
1. Select Menu > Phonebook > Search.
2. Enter the contact name and press to search.
3. Press to view details of the searched contact. Press
to view other contacts.
4. Press for the following options:
zWrite Message: Send a message to the contact.
zEdit: Edit the name and phone number of the contact.
zCopy: Copy the contact to the phone or the UIM card.
zDelete: Delete the contact.

7 Alarm Clock
Your phone provides two alarm clocks. After you set an alarm
clock, your phone displays the icon . After the alarm clock is
enabled, the phone rings or vibrates at the specified time when
the phone is powered on. Press //to stop the
alarm clock.
Enabling an Alarm Clock
1. Select Menu > Extras > Alarm.
2. Select an alarm clock and press for the following
options:
zOn/off: Select On to enable the alarm clock.
zSet Time: Set the time to alarm. Press to move the
cursor and enter the time directly.
If you use the 12-hour time format, press to select
am/pm.
zSet Repeat Method: After setting the time, select a repeat
method, including Once, Everyday, Mon-Fri and Mon-Sat.
3. Press to save the settings.
If nothing is done to the alarm clock when it alerts, it
can alert seven times in every ten minutes before it
finally stops.
Disabling an Alarm Clock
1. Select Menu > Extras > Alarm.
2. Select an alarm clock and press .

3. Select Off to disable the alarm clock.
8 Security
Setting the Phone Lock
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security > Phone Lock.
zPhone Lock On: Enable the phone lock.
zPhone Lock Off: Disable the phone lock.
zChange Code: Change the phone lock code to any
four-digit numeric string. The default phone lock code is
"0000".
2. When the phone is locked, you can still dial the emergency
numbers.
Setting the PIN Lock
The personal identity number (PIN) protects your UIM card
from unauthorized use. The PIN code is provided with the UIM
card.
Select Menu > Settings > Security > Phone Lock for the
following options:
zPIN Lock On: Enable the PIN lock.
zPIN Lock Off: Disable the PIN lock.
zChange Code: Change the PIN code. Enter the new PIN
code for two times.
When "Operation Successful" is displayed on the screen,
the PIN code is change successfully.
If you enter wrong PINs for three times, then the UIM card is
locked. You need to enter the correct personal unblocking key
(PUK) to change the PIN code.
