1. Introduction
Users must read this manual carefully, follow the procedures and instructions indicated and be alert when
using AlerTox Heater.
2. Guarantee
It is guaranteed that AlerTox Heater is free from defects in materials and functionality under normal conditions
of use for a period of 24 months from its acquisition. The warranty cannot be applied to any AlerTox Heater
or components that have been damaged by improper installation, incorrect connections, incorrect use,
accident, abnormal working conditions or intentional manipulation.
3. Security instructions
Precautions
• It is recommended to carefully read this manual before using AlerTox Heater.
• Only trained personnel may work with AlerTox Heater.
Burn risks
• Be careful when touching AlerTox Heater and the heater plate (it can reach 300 °C / 572 °F).
• Be careful with residual heat after switching off AlerTox Heater.
Ground connection
• Make sure the plug has a ground connection before plugging in AlerTox Heater.
• Place AlerTox Heater on a stable, clean, dry, non-slippery, fire-proof surface.
• AlerTox Heater has been designed to be used exclusively with the AlerTox Lactose kits. Do not use
AlerTox Heater with reagents/materials other than those supplied.
• Do not use AlerTox Heater in explosive atmospheres or underwater.
• Verify that AlerTox Heater is properly maintained before each use.
• The voltage on this manual and on AlerTox Heater’s label must correspond to the main power source.
• Make sure the power cable does not touch the heater plate. Do not cover AlerTox Heater.
• AlerTox Heater can only be serviced by the manufacturer.
4. Instructions of use
4.1. Elements

4.2. Switching on
• Plug AlerTox Heater in a socket with the appropriate voltage.
• Switch on AlerTox Heater with the main switch.
• AlerTox Heater will heat until reaching the temperature that was last set on the unit. The upper display will
show the actual temperature of the heating plate in red numbers.
4.3. Setting the temperature
Please note that AlerTox Heater shows the temperature in Celsius (ºC).
• Press the "SET" button until the green display starts blinking. Use the "UP" and "DOWN" arrowheads to
select the desired temperature.
• To use AlerTox Heater in combination with AlerTox Lactose kits (KIT3023 and KIT3071), set the
temperature to 110 ºC (212 ºF).
4.4. Switching off and maintenance
• AlerTox Heater does not have a standby mode. Once the temperature is set (section 4.3.), AlerTox Heater
will maintain such temperature until the user switches it off.
• To disconnect AlerTox Heater, switch off the main switch. It is recommended to unplug the device from
the main power source.
• If the heating surface is dirty, wait until it has cooled down, and then wipe it with a damp cloth.
• It is recommended to store AlerTox Heater in the original container if it is not going to be used for a long
time.
