THE NATURE OF HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
The use of portable automotive lifting devices is subject to certain hazards that cannot be prevented by mechanical means, but only
by the exercise of intelligence, care, and common sense. It is therefore essential to have owners and personnel involved in the use and
operation of the equipment who are careful, competent, trained, and qualied in the safe operation of the equipment and its proper
use. Examples of hazards are dropping, tipping or slipping of loads caused primarily by improperly securing loads, overloading, off-
centered loads, use on other than hard level surfaces, and using equipment for a purpose for which it was not designed.
METHODS TO AVOID HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
 • Read,study,understand,andfollowallinstructionsbeforeoperatingthisdevice.
 • Inspectthejackbeforeeachuse.Donotusejackifdamaged,altered,modied,inpoorcondition,orhaslooseormissing
hardware or components. Make corrections before using.

 • Securethetransmissiontothejack’ssaddlewiththeanchoragerestraintsystemprovidedbeforeraisingorlowering
the transmission.
 • Centerloadonsaddle.Besuresetupisstablebeforeworkingonvehicle.
 • Supporttheenginewithastandbeforeunboltingthetransmissionfromtheengine.
 • WeareyeprotectionthatmeetsANSIZ87.1andOSHAstandards(usersandbystanders).
 • Donotusejackbeyonditsratedcapacity.Donotshockload.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
   ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedfortheOPERATINGINSTRUCTIONSsectionofthismanualtoalertyoutopotential 

1. Liftthevehicletothedesiredworkheightandsupportthevehicleinaccordancewiththeliftmanufacturer'srecommendedsupport
procedure and all the instructions and warnings in this manual.
2. Useanunderhoiststandratedgreaterthantheweightoftheenginetosupporttheenginebeforeunboltingthetransmissionfromthe
engine or bolting the transmission to the engine.
3. Positionthetransmissionjackdirectlyunderthetransmission.Pumpthejackhandleinordertoraisethesaddletoaheightveryclose
to the center of balance point of the transmission oil pan but do not touch the transmission.
4. Adjustthengersontheheadsothatthebentupsectionofthengerswilltinthemountingangearoundtheperimeterofthe
 transmissionoilpan.Slowlyandgentlypumpthejacksotheconnectionismadeandthensecurethetransmissiontothejack's
 saddlewiththechainprovided.Sometimesitisnecessarytoturntheforeandaftandsidetosidetiltknobssotheheadisinthe
proper alignment with the transmission pan before securing the load to the head.
5. Makesurethechainisverytightwhensecuringthetransmissiontotheheadandbeforeraisingorloweringthetransmission.
6. Removethetransmissionfromtheengineaccordingtoinstructionsinthevehicleservicemanual.
7. Oncethetransmissionhasbeendisconnectedfromtheengine,veryslowlyturnthereleasevalveinacounterclockwisedirection.
 Makesurethejack'sheadandtransmissiondonothanguponanyundercarcomponents,wiring,fuellines,etc.Continuetolower
the load all the way down.
8. Wheninstallingatransmission,followtheaboveinstructionsbutintheapplicableorderandaccordingtothevehicle
manufacturer's installation procedure.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedforthePREVENTATIVEMAINTENANCEsectionofthismanualtoalertyouto
potential personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death.
1. Alwaysstorethejackinawellprotectedareawhereitwillnotbeexposedtoinclementweather,corrosivevapors,abrasive
dust, or any other harmful elements. The jack must be cleaned of water, snow, sand, grit, oil, grease or other foreign matter
before using.
2. Thejackmustbelubricatedperiodicallyinordertopreventprematurewearingofparts.Ageneralpurposegreasemustbeappliedto
 allttings,casterwheels,tiltscrewsbutnohydrauliccompontents.Wornpartsresultingfrominadequateornolubricationarenot
eligible for warranty consideration.
3. Itshouldnotbenecessarytorellortopoffthereservoirwithhydraulicuidunlessthereisanexternalleak.Anexternalleakrequires
immediate repair which must be performed in a dirt-free environment by an authorized service center.
IMPORTANT:Inordertopreventsealdamageandjackfailure,neverusealcohol,hydraulicbrakeuidortransmissionoilinthejack.Use

hydraulicjackoil,alightturbineoil,ChevronAWISO32orUnocalUnaxAW150.
4. Everyjackownerisresponsibleforkeepingthejacklabelscleanandreadable.Useamildsoapsolutiontowashexternal
 surfacesofthejackbutnotanymovinghydrauliccomponents.ContactK-ToolInternationalforareplacementlabelifyourjack's
label is unreadable.
5. Inspectthejackbeforeeachuse.Donotusethejackifanycomponentiscracked,broken,bent,showssignofdamageorleaks
 hydraulicuid.Donotusethejackifithaslooseormissinghardwareorcomponents,orismodiedinanyway.Takecorrective
action before using the jack again.
6. Donotattempttomakeanyhydraulicrepairsunlessyouareaqualiedhydraulicrepairpersonthatisfamiliarwiththis
 equipment.Repairsmustbeperformedbyanauthorizedservicecenter.
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM: UNIT WILL NOT LIFT RATED LOAD.

original purchase. This warranty is extended to the original retail purchaser only. If any jack or service-related item proves to be
defectiveduringthisperiod,itwillbereplacedorrepaired,atK-ToolInternational’soption,withoutcharge.Thiswarrantydoesnotapply
to damage from accident, overload, misuse or abuse, nor does it apply to any equipment which has been altered or used with special
attachments other than those recommended. This warranty does not cover repairs made by anyone who is not a K-Tool International
ProfessionalLiftingEquipmentAuthorizedRepairCenter.
AllStandardDutyjacksorservice-relatedequipmentwillbereplacedorrepairedatK-ToolInternational’soptionduringthe1yearwarranty

1. Levanteelvehículohastasualturadetrabajodeseadaysoporteelvehículodeacuerdoconelprocedimientodesoporte
recomendado por el fabricante de elevación y con todas las instrucciones y advertencias de este manual.
2. Useunabasegrúadegatodeunaclasicaciónnominalmayoraladelpesodelmotor,conelndesoportarelmotorantesde 
desatornillar la transmisión del motor o antes de atornillar la transmisión al motor.
3. Coloqueelgatoparatransmisionesdirectamentedebajodelatransmisión.Bombeeelmangodelgatoconelndelevantarlasilla
hasta una altura muy cercana al centro de equilibrio del cárter de aceite de la transmisión pero que no toque la transmisión.
4. Ajustelosdedosenlacabezaconelndequelaseccióndentadadelosdedosquepaenlabridademontajealrededordel
 perímetrodelcárterdeaceitedelatransmisión.Bombeeelgatosuavementeydeformalentaparaquesehagaunaconexióny
 luegosujetelatransmisiónalasilladelgatoconlacadenaprovista.Antesdesujetarlacargaalacabeza,avecesseránecesario
girar las perillas de inclinación de adelante y atrás y de lado a lado con el n de que la cabeza esté en la alineación adecuada con el
cárter de la transmisión.
5. Asegúresequelacadenaestémuyapretadaalmomentodesujetarlatransmisiónalacabezayantesdeelevarobajar
la transmisión.
6. Extraigalatransmisióndelmotor,segúnlasinstruccionesenelmanualdeserviciodelvehículo.
7. Unavezquesehayadesconectadalatransmisióndelmotor,girelaválvuladeliberaciónmuylentamenteenelcontrasentidode 
 lasagujasdelreloj.Asegúresequelacabezadelgatoylatransmisiónnoseenredenconningúncomponente,alambrado,líneade
 combustiblededebajodelvehículo.Sigabajandolacargacompletamentehastaabajo.
8. Almomentodeinstalarunatransmisión,sigalasinstruccionesanterioresperoenordenaplicableysegúnelprocedimientode 
instalación de fabricante del vehículo.

3. Noseránecesariorellenarnillenaraltopeeldepósitoconlíquidohidráulico,almenosquehayaunafugaexterna.Unafuga
externa requiere la reparación inmediata la cual debe realizarse en un ambiente libre de suciedad por parte de un centro de
servicio autorizado.

5. Veriqueelgatoantesdeusarlo.Nouseelgatosialgunadesuspartesestáquebrada,rota,torcidaodañada,nicuandoel
 sistemahidráulicotengafugas.Nouseelgatosipresentaalteracionesoesinestabledebidoapiezasmetálicasopartes
desajustadas o faltantes. Tome las medidas de corrección apropiadas antes de usar el gato otra vez.
6. NohaganingúnIntentoparahacerningunareparaciónhidráulicaalmenosqueustedseaunIndividuocalicadodereparación
 hidráulicayqueestéfamiliarizadoconesteequipo.Lasreparacionesdebenllevarseacaboporpartedeuncentrodeservicio
autorizado.
DIAGNÓSTICO DE AVERíAS
PROBLEMA: LA UNIDAD NO ELEVARÁ LA CARGA NOMINAL.
ACCÓN: Expulsa el aire del sistema hidráulico al seguir el procedimiento bajo lasINSTRUCCIONESDEMONTAJE.
PROBLEMA: LA UNIDAD NO SOSTENDRÁ LA CARGA NOMINAL O SE SIENTE “ESPONJOSA” BAJO LA CARGA NOMINAL.
ACCÓN: Expulsa el aire del sistema hidráulico como indicado anteriormente.esponjoso bajo la carga.
PROBLEMA: EL EQUIPO NO LEVANTARÁ LA CARGA HASTA LA ALTURA NORMAL.
ACCÓN: Expulsaelairedelsistemahidráulicocomoindicadoanteriormente.Revisaquelosnivelesdeaceitenoesténnialtosnibajos.
PROBLEM: EL EQUIPO AúN NO FUNCIONA.
