Ensure to read all instructions in this user guide prior to first use. Retain this user guide for
future reference. Misuse may cause injuries to people and damage property.
•This air conditioner uses R32 flammable refrigerant.
•WARNING: This air conditioner can be used by children aged 8 years and above and
by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use
of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
•Do not allow children to play with the air conditioner.
•Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children without
supervision.
•The room space for the installation, use, maintenance, and storage of this air
conditioner should be greater than 5m2.
•The refrigerant cannot charge more than 1.7kg.
•Do not use any method to accelerate the defrosting process, or to clean, other than
those recommended by Kogan.com.
•Do not pierce or burn the air conditioner. Check the refrigerant pipeline regularly to
ensure it is not damaged.
•The air conditioner must be operated near areas with continuously operating ignition
sources (for example, open flames, an operating gas appliance, or an operating
electric heater).
•Ensure heat sources (for example, microwaves, ovens), high electrostatic appliances
(for example, computers), power switches, plugs, and sockets that are used frequently
are not located below the air conditioner.
SAFETY & WARNINGS
Notes:
•Refrigerant may be tasteless and odourless.
•Do not inhale or make contact with R32 refrigerant. If inhaled or touched, this
may lead to difficulty breathing, burns, fluid build-up, and blood loss. If
experiencing any symptoms, seek emergency help immediately. If roughly
treated, it may cause serious harm to the human body and surrounding areas.
IMPORTANT: All wiring must comply with local and national electrical
codes and must be installed by a licensed electrician.

•Maintenance or repair of air conditioners using R32 refrigerant must be carried out
after security checks to minimise risks.
•The air conditioner must be grounded. Incomplete grounding may result in electric
shocks.
•The joints between the indoor and outdoor unit should not be re-used unless after
re-flaring the pipe.
•Do not connect the earth wire to the gas pipeline, water pipeline, lightning rod, or
telephone earth wire.
•To ensure safety, always switch off and cut the power supply when the air conditioner
will not be used for an extended period.
•Do not allow water or any other liquid to touch the air conditioner or remote control.
Contact with liquids may result in short-circuiting.
•If the power cord is damaged, stop use immediately and contact help.Kogan.com for
assistance.
•Do not cut off the main power when operating.
•Do not use the air conditioner with wet hands.
•Do not share a power socket with other electric appliances. Doing so may cause
electric shocks, fires, and explosions.
•Always switch off and cut the power supply before performing any maintenance or
cleaning. Not doing so may cause electric shock or damage.
•Do not pull on the power cord.
•There must be at least a 1 metre distance between the air conditioner and any
flammable gases or liquids. Not doing so may cause fires and explosions.
•Do not wipe or otherwise use liquids or corrosive cleaning agents on the air
conditioner.
•Do not attempt to repair the air conditioner yourself. Incorrect repairs may cause fires
or explosions. Contact a qualified service technician for all service requirements.
•Do not attempt to disassemble the air conditioner yourself.
•Do not use the air conditioner during lightning storms. The power supply should be cut
prior to prevent danger.
•Do not put hands or any objects into the air inlet or air outlet. This may cause personal
injury or damage to the air conditioner.
•Ensure the mounting plate is stable enough to hold the air conditioner. If damaged, it
may lead to the appliance falling and cause injury.
•Do not block the air inlet or air outlet as this may reduce the cooling or heating
capabilities and cause the system to stop operating.
•Do not allow the air conditioner to blow against any heater.

•Refrigerant leakage contributes to climate change. A refrigerant with lower global
warming potential (GWP) would contribute less to global warming than a refrigerant
with higher GWP if leaked into the atmosphere. This air conditioner contains a
refrigerant fluid with a GWP equal to 675. This means that if 1 kg of this refrigerant
fluid was leaked into the atmosphere, the impact on global warming would be 675
times higher than 1 kg of CO2, over a period of 100 years.
•This air conditioner contains fluorinated greenhouse gases.
•Note the specifications on the fuse printed on the circuit board.
WARNING: Immediately stop operation, cut off the power supply, and contact
help.Kogan.com in the following situations:
•If there are any harsh sounds or unpleasant odours during operation.
•If abnormal heating of power cable and plug occurs.
•If the unit or remote control touches any liquid.
•If the air switch or leakage protection switch is often disconnected.
CAUTION
•Do not open the windows and doors for long periods when the air conditioner is
running. The cooling or heating capacity will otherwise be weakened.
•Do not stand on the top of the outdoor unit or place heavy items on it. This can cause
personal injuries or damage the unit.
•Do not use the air conditioner for other purposes, (for example, drying clothes, or
preserving foods).
•Do not expose yourself to cold air unprotected for long periods. This may lead to
sickness.
•Set a suitable temperature. It is recommended that the temperature difference
between the indoors and outdoors should not be too large. Appropriate adjustments
in the temperature can prevent the waste of electricity.
•If the air conditioner is not fitted with a power cord and plug, an explosion-proof
all-pole switch must be installed in the fixed wiring and the distance between
contacts should be no less than 3mm.
•If the air conditioner is permanently connected to the fixed wiring, an explosion-proof
residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding
30mA should be installed in the fixed wiring.
•The power supply circuit should have a leakage protector and air switch of which the
capacity should be more than 1.5 times the maximum current.

Installation warnings and requirements
•Ensure the air conditioner is installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.
•The air conditioner must be installed in an accessible location for maintenance,
without obstacles that may block air inlets or outlets of indoor/outdoor units.
•Fire prevention equipment must be prepared before installation.
•The installation site must be well-ventilated.
•Ignition sources and smoking are not allowed to exist in areas where R32 refrigerant is
located.
•Anti-static precautions are necessary when installing the air conditioner (for example,
wearing pure cotton clothes and gloves).
•Keep a leak detector working during installation.
•If R32 refrigerant leakage occurs during the installation, leave the area immediately
and detect the concentration in the indoor environment until it reaches a safe level.
Check the nameplate of the outdoor unit to ensure the refrigerant is R32.
•Check the surrounding environment of the installation site: R32 shall not be installed
in the enclosed reserved spaces of buildings.
•If refrigerant leakage affects the performance of the air conditioner, stop use
immediately. The air conditioner must be vacuumed, then contact help.Kogan.com
for assistance.
•When using an electric drill to make holes in the wall, first check whether there is a
pre-buried pipeline for water, electricity, and gas. It is suggested to use the reserved
hole in the roof of the wall.
•The air conditioner must be installed with a stop valve cover.
•Be aware of any sharp edges when handling metal parts of the unit.
•When installing or repairing the air conditioner, if the connecting line is not long
enough, the entire connecting line shall be replaced with the connecting line of the
original specifications. Do not use extensions.
•Use new connection pipes unless re-flaring the pipe.
•The connection method of the air conditioner and power cable, and the
interconnection method of each independent element, shall be subject to the wiring
diagram affixed to the unit.
•The model and rating value of the fuse shall be subject to the printed information on
the remote control or fuse sleeve.

Air conditioner positioning requirements
•Do not install the air conditioner near heat sources or gas leakages, nor in areas with
inflammable or explosive gases.
•Avoid installing in places subject to strong artificial electric/magnetic fields.
•Avoid installing in places subject to noise and resonance.
•Avoid installing the outdoor unit near areas with frequent severe natural conditions (for
example, strong sandy winds, direct sunshine, or high-temperature heat sources).
•Avoid installing in areas within the reach of children.
•Shorten the connection between the indoor and outdoor units. Select a
well-ventilated area where it is easy to perform service and repair.
•Do not install the outdoor unit where it can occupy a public area (for example, an
aisle, stairway, exit, fire escape, catwalk, or any other public area).
•Ensure the outdoor unit is installed as far as possible from the doors and windows of
the neighbours as well as green plants.
Mounting plate requirements
•The mounting plate must meet the relevant national or industrial standards in terms
of strength, with welding and connection areas rust proofed.
•The mounting plate and its load carry surface must be able to withstand 200kg.
•The mounting rack of the outdoor unit must be fastened with an expansion bolt.
•To prevent the units from falling, ensure the proper precautions are taken (for example,
taking into account the type of wall it is being attached to).
Electrical safety requirements
•Ensure to use the rated voltage and air conditioner dedicated circuit for the power
supply.
•Ensure the diameter of the power cable meets national requirements.
•When the maximum current of an air conditioner is >16A (8.0KW), it must use an air
switch or leakage protection switch equipped with protection devices.
•The operating range of the air conditioner is 90%-110% of the local rated voltage. If
there is an insufficient power supply, this may cause malfunctions, electrical shock, or
fire.
•If the level of voltage is unstable, it is suggested to increase the voltage regulator.
•Keep combustibles at least 1.5 metres away from the air conditioner.
•The interconnecting cord (not supplied) connects the indoor and outdoor units.
Choose the appropriate cable size before preparing it for connection.
•The interconnecting and outdoor power cables must be either H07RN-F or
H05RN-F.

•Minimum Cross-Sectional Area of Power cable and interconnection cord:
•The size of the interconnection cord, power cable, fuse, and switch needed is
determined by the maximum current of the unit. The maximum current is indicated on
the nameplate located on the side panel of the unit.
Requirements for operations at a raised height
When carrying out any installation at an elevation of 2 metres or higher, safety belts must be
worn, and ropes of sufficient strength must be securely fastened to the outdoor unit to
prevent falling that could cause personal injury, death, and property damage.
Grounding requirements
•The air conditioner is a Class I electrical appliance and must have reliable grounding.
•Do not connect the grounding wire to a gas pipe, water pipe, lightning rod, telephone
line, or a circuit poorly grounded to the earth.
•The grounding wire is specially designed and shall not be used for any other purpose,
nor shall it be fastened with a tapping screw.
•Ensure the type O terminal meets local standards (internal diameter of type O
terminal needs to match the screw size of the unit, no more than 4.2mm). After
installation, check the screws have been secured and that there is no risk of loosening.
Remote control warnings
•Ensure the remote control is pointed towards the signal receiver, and that there is no
obstruction in between. The maximum range that the remote control can be used is 8
metres.
•Do not allow the remote control to be dropped or flung around.
•Do not allow any liquid to enter the remote control.
•Do not expose the remote control directly to sunlight or excessive heat.
•If the remote control will not be used for a long period, remove the batteries. Batteries
left inside the remote control for extended periods may leak and cause damage.

Operating temperatures
If the indoor or outdoor units are operating in temperatures beyond the parameters when
cooling/heating listed below, this may result in the units to stop working or cause other
malfunctions.
Ensure the air conditioner is not operating in these conditions.

•When the temperature is too high, the air conditioner may activate an automatic
protection device so that the air conditioner can shut down.
•When the temperature is too low, the heat exchanger of the air conditioner may
freeze, leading to water dripping and other malfunctions.
•In periods when the air conditioner is used for cooling for extended periods, or when
the air conditioner is in DRY mode in an environment with a relative humidity of above
80% (with doors and windows open), there may be water condensation or water
dripping near the air outlet. This is normal.
•Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal
waste. Instead, use separate collection facilities.
•Contact your local government for information regarding the
collection systems available.
•If electrical appliances are disposed of in landfills or dumps,
hazardous substances can leak into the groundwater and get
into the food chain, damaging your health and well-being.
