Note:
Lifting the machine in an awkward position or
transporting it in a poorly balanced position could
result in personal injury. When transporting the
machine, assign an adequate number of persons
to the job and ensure that each person can take a
good position of not being excessively loaded.

II. Confirmation before installation
1. When transporting the finisher, be sure to move it
in the direction illustrated below so as not to
deform the casters on the paper exit tray side.
2. Choose a horizontal and stable floor for installing
the machine.
3. The packaging material should not be reused for
repacking.
4. If the optional punch kit is to be mounted, first
install the punch kit before installing the finisher to
the machine.
III.Installation procedures
1. Turn off the machine and unplug the power cord
from the power outlet.
2. Remove the user’s guide holder from the
machine.
3. Remove the output tray (OT-503) if it is mounted
on the machine.
Note:
For the removal procedure, see the installation
manual for the output tray (OT-503).
4. Cut out the separator (one place) by using nip-
pers.
Note:
Be sure to remove the protective tape from the
machine after cut out the separator.

5. Remove the protective sheet of the horizontal
transport unit.
6. Remove protective tape from different parts of the
horizontal transport unit.
7. Mount the horizontal transport unit to the machine
(two screw A’s furnished with the finisher).
8. Install the mounting bracket A (left) and mounting
bracket C (right), shipped with the finisher, to the
upper portion on the left side surface of the
machine.
• Mounting bracket A:
two screw A’s furnished with the finisher.
• Mounting bracket C:
two screw B’s furnished with the finisher.
Note:
• Install mounting bracket C such that the
threaded hole at the center in the bracket is on
the right-hand side.
• Temporarily fix the cable of the horizontal trans-
port unit onto the upper portion of the machine
to prevent it from being caught by the mounting
bracket A.

9. Install the mounting bracket B (left) and mounting
bracket C (right) shipped with the finisher to the
lower portion on the left side surface of the
machine (four screw B’s furnished with the fin-
isher).
Note:
Install mounting bracket C such that the threaded
hole at the center in the bracket is on the right-
hand side.
10. Remove the locking tapes and the locking pro-
tection materials from the front door and the left
side of the finisher.
11. Remove the locking tapes from each guide
plates.
12. Remove the stacker locking materials.
13. Pull out the stacker and remove the locking
tapes. Remove the locking material (three
places) from the inside of the stacker (eight
screws).

14. Connect the three finisher connectors to the
connectors located on the rear left side of the
machine.
15. Install the finisher on the machine.
Note:
Align the hook portions of the mounting bracket A
and the mounting bracket B with the upper and
lower holes in the finisher. Then, push the finisher
toward the rear.
16. Open the front door of the finisher and secure
the finisher to the machine (two mounting
screws furnished with the finisher).
17. Insert five to six sheets of paper into the gap
between the front door of the finisher and the
machine and move the sheets up and down to
check to see that they are not caught on either
side of the devices.
* When the sheets are caught on either of the
sides, carry out the following steps (1) to (4).
(1) Remove the rear right cover of the finisher
(six screws).
Note:
Only the screw ➀is different from other screws.
Be sure to use the screw ➀on the same place
when attaching the rear right cover.

(2) Remove the rear left cover of the finisher
(three screws).
(3) Remove the rear lower cover of the finisher
(seven screws).
(4) Adjust the height of the front and rear casters
located on the paper exit side of the finisher to
ensure an appropriate gap between the front
door of the finisher and the machine.
18. Insert upper exit tray into the sub tray paper exit
slot on the finisher.
Note:
When installing upper exit tray, push the tray all
the way in until you hear a click.
19. Install the lower exit try furnished with the fin-
isher to the up/down section of the finisher (two
screws C’s furnished with the finisher).
Note:
When installing the lower exit tray, hook the guide
holes of the lower exit tray over the four mounting
clamps and then fix it.
20. Connect the hookup cord of the horizontal trans-
port unit to the machine.

21. Reinstall the user's guide holder, which has
been removed in step 2, to the upper or lower
position shown.
