II. Preliminary preparations
When installing the PI-506 to the Finisher, install the
PI-506 first then install the Finisher to the main body.
Note:
When handling the PI-506, grip it as shown in the
illustration below.
III. Installation Procedures
1. Remove the top cover from the Finisher.
(1) Remove the two screw covers at the rear side
of the top cover, then remove the screws.
(2) Open the front door and remove the 3 screws.
(3) Remove the top cover.

Note:
Lifting the machine in an awkward position or
transporting it in a poorly balanced position could
result in personal injury. When transporting the
machine, be sure to take a good position of not
being excessively loaded. (mass: approx. 10.5kg)

2. Reinstall the screws removed in step 1-(1).
3. Install the 2 positioning screws at the rear side of
the Finisher.
4. Install the PI-506.
(1) Install the PI-506 on top of the Finisher.
Note:
• To lock the PI-506 in place, first align its key-
hole slots so that the positioning screws you
installed on the Finisher feed through the wide
parts of the slots.
• Then slide the PI-506 so that the heads of the
positioning screws are locked over the narrow
parts of the keyhole slots.
Check that there is no gap between the PI-506
and the Finisher in the rear side exterior panel.
If there is the gap, install the PI-506 again.
(2) Remove the packing tape and protective mate-
rials.
(3) Connect the PI-506 connector to the connector
at the top front of the Finisher.

(4) Secure the PI-506. (TP screws M4x6: 3 pcs.)
5. Install the wire bundle cover /1 to the PI-506
connector. (Truss screw M4x6 (black): 1 pc.)
6. Install the screw cover on the top front of the Fin-
isher.
7. Install the Finisher on the main body (refer to the
Finisher Installation manual).
8. Plug in the power cord and turn the Main power
switch ON of the main body.

Step
1. Enter [Service mode].
Note:
Refer to procedures in the Service Manual
to enter into the Serivce Mode.
2. Touch the “Finisher Adjustment” key.
3. Touch the “Cover Sheet Size Adj.” key to
indicate the [Cover sheet tray size adj.
(upper tray)] screen.
4. Set A4S or 8.5/11S paper in the upper
cover-sheet tray.
5. Touch the “Start” key.
6. When adjustment is completed, “Complete”
appears on the message display.
7. Touch the “Next” key to indicate the [Cover
Sheet Tray Size Adj. (Lower Tray)] screen.
8. Set A4S or 8.5/11S paper in the lower cover-
sheet tray.
9. Touch the “Start” key.
10. When adjustment is completed, “Complete”
appears on the message display.
11. Verify that each paper size can be properly
detected.
