Corrections Via a Siemens MC75
This guide describes how to configure your RX1250 SmartRover.
With a Siemens MC75 on the clip using a GPRS Data plan for
connecting to SmartNet

• Establish a Connection between the RX1250 and SmartNet via Mobile
Phone Internet Connection
Introduction Many of the mobile phone providers today offer GPRS enabled phones
with Bluetooth capability. As a result, these mobile phones may be utilised
to log onto the Internet and receive correction data from the SmartNet
reference network.
Notice: You will need to have a GSM mobile phone with a GPRS Data
Plan from a UK provider, such as Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile etc…

From the Main Menu:
•Tap on 5 Config… This will take
your to the Configuration screen

From the Configuration screen:
•Tap on 4 Interfaces… This will take
you to the CONFIGURE Interfaces
screen

Pairing your Mobile Phone:
From the CONFIGURE Interfaces screen:
•Highlight the Internet interface.
•Press the F3 (EDIT) button. This will
take you to the CONFIGURE
Internet Interface screen.

screen:
•Set the Internet to Yes
•Set the Port to Clip-On
Select Device – by pressing F5 and select
Siemens MC75 and F1 Continue

Configuring your Mobile Phone Settings:
From the CONFIGURE Interfaces Screen:
Select F3 Edit on the Internet device to the
configure the settings as shown:
•Set the IP Address field to Dynamic.
Some telephone service providers
require a user name and password to
sign into the GPRS data network.
•Enter the User ID and Password as
appropriate.
Operator Username Password
Vodafone web web
O2 faster password
Orange leave blank leave blank
T-Mobile leave blank leave blank
If you are using another mobile provider
please contact them directly for your GPRS
username and password.

From the CONFIGURE Interfaces screen:
•Highlight the Internet field: Press F4
(CTRL) button. Enter the appropriate
APN address in the APN Field as per
the service provider used:
Operator APN
Vodafone internet
O2 mobile.o2.co.uk
Orange orangeinternet
T-Mobile general.t-mobile.uk
If you are using another mobile provider
please contact them directly for your GPRS
APN.
Press F1 (CONT). This will take you back to
the CONFIGURE Interfaces screen.

From the CONFIGURE Interfaces screen:
•Highlight the Real-Time Interface.
•Press the F3 (EDIT) Button. This
will take you to the CONFIGURE
Real-Time Mode screen.

From the Configure Real-Time Mode screen:
•Press the Arrow Key to select Rover
in the R-Time Mode field.
•Select the settings as shown on the
Real-Time Mode screen on the right.
•Set the Port field to Net 1.
•Press F2 Rover to take you to the
CONFIGURE Additional Rover
Options screen.

Options screen:
Configure the settings as shown:
•Set Accept Ref to Any Received
•Set Ref Network to MAX
•Set User ID to No
•Switch to the NTRIP page, by
pressing F6 (PAGE).

From the NTRIP Additional Rover Options
screen:
Configure the settings as shown:
•Enter YOUR appropriate SmartNet
username and SmartNet password in
the required fields.
•Enter MAX-RTCMv3 into the
Mountpoint field.
Press F1 twice to return to the Configure
Interfaces screen.

From the CONFIGURE Interfaces screen,
with Real-Time highlighted:
•Press the F4 (CTRL) button.
•Highlight the Server Line and Press
the Enter Button.
Press F2 New and then follow Steps 12 – 14
to enter the details of the server that you
wish to access.

SmartNet Uk Main IP Configuration
Enter the IP Address as 217.146.121.50.
Enter the Port as 7801.
Press F1 Store.

SmartNet Uk BackUp IP Configuration
Enter the IP Address as 87.194.168.60
Enter the Port as 7801
Press F1 Store.

SmartNet Ireland IP Configuration
Enter the IP Address as 217.146.121.30
Enter the IP Port as 7830
Press F1 Store.

Highlight the Server that you wish to
connect to and press F1 Cont.
Make sure Auto Connect is set to NO and
press F1 Cont

From the Configure Interfaces screen,
highlighting Real-Time:
•Press the Shift Button
•Press F4 (CONEC) to connect to the
Internet and SmartNet.
Note: before CONEC is pressed ensure that
there is:
An @ symbol next to L2= or R= in the icons
at the top of the screen.
A ‘Navigation Solution’ icon ( ) must also
be available.
When the connection is successful, there will
be a prompt indicating that the RX1250 is
connected to the Ntrip Caster.
•Press the Shift button and then the F4
(DISCO) button to disconnect from
the connection service.
•Press the F1 (CONT) button to return
to the Main Menu.
You may now create a new job file to begin
your survey project.
Then within your survey it is possible to
connect and disconnect as required with
Shift F3.
