DESCRIPTION
Leviton'ssurfacemounthighbayopccupancysensor,OSFHS-IxW,isspecicallydesignedforhighmountedareassuchas
warehouses,manufacturingandotherhighceilingapplications.Ithastheexibilitytobesurfacemounteddirectlytothefrontof
axtureorrecessmountedinternaltothexture.Itisaself-containedsensorandrelaythatdetectsmotionusingthepassive
infrared(PIR)tosensesources(suchasapersonenteringaroom)withinitseld-of-view(monitoredspace)andautomatically
switcheslightsON.ThecontrolledlightswillremainONuntilnomotionisdetectedandthescheduledtime-delayhasexpired.
Thesensorissuppliedwiththreeinterchangeablelensringsthatallowstheusertoselectbetweena360degreeHighBay/Low
Baypatternoranaislepattern.

body.InordertoinitiallytriggertheSensor,thesourceofheatmustmovefromonezoneofdetectiontoanother.
Notethatoccupancysensorsrespondtorapidchangesintemperature,socareshouldbetakennottomountthedevicenear
aclimatecontrolsource(i.e.radiators,airexchanges,andairconditioners).Hotorcolddraftswilllooklikebodymotiontothe
deviceandwilltriggeritiftheunitismountedtooclose.It is recommended to mount the Occupancy Sensor at least 6 ft.
away from the heating or cooling ventilation source.

thelensforuseinaisleorLowBayapplications.Seebelowforchanginglenstrimring.TheOSFHS-IxWcanbemountedto
thesurfaceofaxtureusingthe1/2"threadednippleorusingthekeyholeslotsonthebackofthesensor.Itcanalsoberecess

SENSOR INSTALLATION:

2. Thesensorcomeswiththreelensrings.NOTE:Anoptionalpeelandstickmaskingkitisincluded.Thiscircularadhesivelabel
(withremovablewedges)isappliedtotheOUTSIDEofthesensorlens.Useanynumberofwedgestoaltereld-of-viewfor
yourdesiredapplication.
3.Tochangelens,turntrimringsothatthetwoindenteddotslineupandpulloutbythengertabs(refer to Figure 7).
4.Toinserttheblackaislelens,lineuptheindenteddotsandindentedtabsonundersideoflensandinsertintokeyopenings
andturnclockwise(refer to Figure 8).
5.Linethengertabswiththedirectionoftheaisle.Thelenswillsnapintoindentationbumpstoindicatethelensdirectionisat
either90degreeor0degreeorientation.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Surface Mount Installation:
a.Removethelock-nutfromthethreadednippleandinsertthewiresandthethreadednippleintoahalfinchholeofthe
luminairebody.
b.Slidethelock-nutoverthewiresandthreadclockwiseontothethreadednippletosecurermlyinplace,makingsure
thelensisorientedtowardstheareatobemonitored(refer to Figure 1).
Keyhole Mount Installation:
a.Removethethreadednipplefromthebackofthesensorbyturningcounterclockwise.
b.UsingthespecicationsinFigure 2asaguide,placethesensorandkeyholeslotsoverthescrews(use#8-32pan
headscrews)andturnclockwisetolockintoplace,makingsurethelensisorientedtowardstheareatomemonitored.
Recessed Mount Installation:
a.UsingthespecicationsinFigure 3asaguide,cutaholeperdimensionsspeciedintotheluminaire.
b.Slidethesensorintotheholeuntiltheclipsonthesideofthesensorsnapintoplace,securingthesensor.
6.ConnectwiresperWiring Diagramasfollows:BLACKleadtoLINE(Hot);REDleadtoLOAD;WHITEleadtoLINE(Neutral).
Twiststrandsofeachleadtightlyand,withcircuitconductors,pushrmlyintotheappropriatewireconnector.Screw
connectoronclockwisemakingsurethatnobarewireshowsbelowtheconnector.
7.Restorepoweratcircuitbreakerorfuse.
NOTE:Allowapproximately1minuteforcharge-up.IfthelightsturnONandtheLEDblinkswhenahandiswavedinfrontofthe
lens,thentheSensorwasinstalledproperly.Iftheoperationisdifferent,refertotheTroubleshootingSection.
TheSensorisfactorypresettoworkwithoutanyadjustments.Ifyoudesiretochangethefactorysettings,refertotheSETTINGS
section.
SETTINGS
NOTE:Settingsshouldbedeterminedduringtheinstallationperiod.Removethelensto
accesstheTimeDelayandSensitivitydials.
Time-Delay:ThisadjustmentcontrolstheamountoftimethelightsstayONafterthelast
detectedmotion.Youmayselectsettingsvaryingfrom30secondsto30minutesandany
timeinbetween,nopowerrequired.
Sensitivity:Turndialclockwisetoincreasedetectiontosmallmovements.Turndial
counter-clockwisetodecreasedetectiontosmallmovement.
NOTE:AfterpoweristurnedON,allowoneminutefortheunittowarmupbeforeitwillperformthesettings.
TROUBLESHOOTING
• Lights will not turn ON
- Site or application interference: VerifyLEDisashingandcheckformanualoverrideswitchesorobstaclesblocking
PIRandFOV.
- Circuit breaker or fuse is OFF:TurnthebreakerON.Ensurethelightsbeingcontrolledareinworkingorder
(i.e.,workingbulbs,ballasts,etc.)
- Sensor is wired incorrectly or may be defective:Conrmthatthesensor’swiringisdonecorrectlyandinspect
visuallyforproblems.
- Lens is dirty or obstructed:Inspectthelensvisuallyandcleanifnecessary,orremovetheobstruction.
• Lights will not turn OFF
- Site or application interference: checkformovingxture,movingparts/items/deviceswithintheFOV.
- Sensor is wired incorrectly or may be defective:Conrmthatthesensor’swiringisdonecorrectlyandinspect
visuallyforproblems.
- Sensor may be mounted too closely to an air conditioning or heating vent:Movethesensororclosethevent.
- The line voltage has dropped:Performthenecessaryteststoensurethelinevoltagehasnotdroppedbeneath100V.
• Lights turn OFF and ON too quickly
- Sensor may be mounted too closely to an air conditioning or heating vent:Movethesensortoanotherlocation
orclosethevent.
- Time delay set improperly:AdjusttheTIMEDELAY.
• Lights shut OFF while occupied (False OFF)
- IncreaseTIMEDELAY.
• Lamps are being replaced too often
