7. Design Features
The LIPCO Reversing Harrow Type UFD is the only machine that,
when connected to any type of engine-driven machine from 13 to 38
kW, is capable of tilling, levelling, and preparing the earth for seeding
in a single operation. Its outstanding feature is that stones, clods, old
lawn, etc. are dug into the ground.
As a standard, the LIPCO Reversing Harrow is equipped with an
overload coupling, a so-called sliding clutch. Sliding clutches limit
short-term torque peaks during operation, e.g. when a stone gets
jammed. The friction clutch is adjustable; to do so, remove the
protective hood (Fig. 1). Increasing or reducing the spring force will
adjust the friction clutch (Fig. 2). Ensure that all screws are evenly
tightened.

8. Preparation
•Before using the unit, check whether all accident protection
devices on tractor, machine and joint shaft are attached correctly
and are in functioning order. Before operating the unit, it is
imperative to replace or install damaged or missing components!
•Check the oil level on the angular gear!
•Check the grease level in the chain case!
•Make sure that all screws are tightened, and all elements are in
perfect working order!
Attention:
Depending on availability, LIPCO Reversing Harrow can be
equipped with cardan shafts from different manufacturers
(Walterscheid or Wiesler ..etc.).
The friction clutch built into the cardan shaft is a safety
component and must be handled with care.
•When using the LIPCO Reversing Harrow machine for the first
time, the PTO shaft operating instructions attached to the PTO
shaft must be removed and read carefully.
When the LIPCO Reversing Harrow is used for the first time /
after a longer stop, the friction clutch must be checked for
functionality.
To do this, the friction clutch must be released, turned by hand
and then tensioned again.
Further details on checking the friction clutch can be found in the
operating instructions of the respective manufacturer.
Note:
If the friction clutch does not function properly, it may cause
serious damage to the machine if it is not released in the event
of an overload.

10. Connection of the machine to the tractor
•Before starting the machine and the tractor, check road and
operating safety!
•Persons must never be allowed to stand between the tractor and
the attachment unit without having secured the vehicle against
rolling away by means of the locking brake and / or wheel cocks!
•Never stay in the rotating and pivoting area of the unit!
•In the transport position of the unit, sufficient lateral arresting of
the tractor three-point suspension has to be ensured, in order to
avoid lateral swing-out of the machine!
•Before attaching and removing the unit to the three-point
suspension, place the operating device in the position in which
unintentional lifting and lowering is excluded!
11. Connecting the universal joint shaft
•Only mount and dismount the universal joint shaft when the
power takeoff shaft and the engine have been turned off and the
ignition key pulled!
•When the unit has been coupled to the tractor, check the exact
length of the universal joint shaft.
Very important: Highest possible overlapping has to be aimed
at. During operation, the maximum extension of the joint shaft
should be half the sliding profile overlapping (Fig. 3). When
connecting to different tractors, the length must be checked
again.
•Attention!
Press sliding pin and
simultaneously push the joint
shaft onto the power take-off
shaft until the sliding pin
engages.

12. Adjustment of working depth
Turn the compression link for
roller adjustment (Fig. 6) to
adjust the desired working
depth. It is important for the
machine to rest on its roller
while working.
The LIPCO Reversing Harrow
can be attached eccentrically
by means of the adjustable three-point frame (except for UFD 100).
This is done by loosening the two lock screws and sliding the frame
to the desired position. To lubricate the lateral adjustment, a
lubrication nipple is mounted on the bottom side of the frame (Fig. 7).
As a standard, the LIPCO Reversing Harrow is equipped with a
laterally adjustable roller. In order to adjust the roller, the two lock
screws at the outer tube of the roller holder (Fig. 8 / A) are loosened,
and the roller is shifted into the corresponding direction.
