• Read the user documentation required for
installation or retrot. You will nd a ow
meter manual and a FlowConnect manual
specic for the product you received.
• Perform an inventory of the parts using the
parts list in the IOM manual.
• Assemble the tools you will need.
• Prepare the site if necessary. Plan where to
install the ow meter, sensors and solar panel.
This is a brief overview of what is involved in installing a new ow meter or retrotting an existing ow
meter with a FlowConnect unit. All of the steps listed below are described in full detail the IOM manual.
Before you begin, read this sheet carefully.

Read this before you proceed
After the FlowConnect is installed, you will need to attach the antenna, connect the batteries, and attach the
tamper evident seal.
Activation steps:
1. Attach the antenna.
2. Remove the battery cover with a 5/32”
hex driver.

Log on to the web site to view the data the
FlowConnect device will transmit.
You may choose to install a pressure sensor, a rain gauge, or a
solar panel.
If you have rechargeable batteries, you will need to install a solar
panel or an external power supply.
Connect the sensors and solar power cable to the FlowConnect
unit on the connection plate.

The batteries need to be connected in the order described below. If this is not followed, the FlowConnect unit
will not activate properly. This will result in the FlowConnect failing to transmit data.

3. Set the batteries in place
according to their type.
Plug in the batteries in the
order shown at right.
4. Replace the battery cover, making
sure the O-ring is set in place
properly, and tighten the four
screws hand tight.
5. Attach the tamper
evident seal.
