3.1 Bariatric Digital Scale
Removing the Hangar Bar

1. Remove the shoulder bolt, locknut, pinch guard and washer which secure the Hangar Bar to the boom mounting bracket.

Installing the Digital Scale
Please see illustration on page 5.
1. Install the Ring to the arm lift, by attaching the bolt, washer and nut.
2. Install the scale to the ring, by attaching the bolt, washer and nut.
3. Install the arm crossbar to the scale, by attaching the bolt, washer and nut.
4. Weigh the patient. Refer to Operating the Scale on page 6 and Weighing the Patient on page 9 .

Operations
Power On/Off
Press for 1 second to power-on scale. Scale performs initialization and power-on test, shows twice, then capacity
shows, battery life percentage shows,
weight detection shows and then auto zero.
For information about Auto-Zero, refer to Scale Configuration in Technical Manual.
Press for 1s to power-off scale. Battery life percentage shows, off message shows, and then power is off.
When the voltage of 3 batteries is lower than 3.2V the scale will auto power-off itself. Replace the depleted batteries with new batteries.
Zero
Press for 1 second to zero. shows.
If load is in motion, or tared, shows.
Tare In/Out
In gross mode, press to tare in. shows.
If load is in motion, or negative, or out of Tare Range, shows.
Tare will reduce the apparent overload range of scale.
For example, the loading capacity for the scale is 500kg, but the sling and all supporting parts (tare) weigh around 10kg. When the patient is ready to
use the scale, you need to zero out the scale. As the sling and other parts already weigh 10kg, the actual loading item cannot be heavier than 490kg.
In summary, the loading capacity must include the patient plus the sling and all supporting items (tare).
In net mode, press to tare out. disappears.
Lock/Unlock
Press to lock screen. shows.
Press to unlock screen. disappears.
Kg. / Lb. Unit Select
Press for 1 second to select the unit of measure between kg, lb, and User Unit.
When unit is kg, shows. When unit is lb, shows.

User Setup
Press and at the same time for 1 second to enter User Setup menu. shows.
Auto-Off Timing
Press to enter Auto-Off Timing. shows.
Press to change timing value.
Auto-Off Timing can be set to: (disabled), (5min), (10min), (15min), (30min), (60min). It is disabled by default.
Auto-Off function maximizes scale’s battery life should you forget to power off the scale when not in use.
Auto-Off starts countdown timer when there’s no action or load is stable. Pressing any key or motion in load restarts countdown timer.
Backlight Brightness
Press to enter Backlight Brightness. shows.
Press to change brightness value.
Backlight Brightness can be set to: (disabled), (dim), (normal), (bright).
Dimming the backlight brightness saves battery power dramatically.
Idle Mode Timing
Press to enter Idle Mode Timing. shows.
Press to change timing value.
Idle Mode Timing can be set to: (disabled), (5sec), (10sec), (15sec), (30sec), (60sec). It is 30sec by default.
To maximize battery life, scale automatically enters Idle Mode when there’s no action or the load is stable. In Idle Mode scale works in low-power
consumption status. Pressing any key or motion in load wakes up scale from Idle Mode.
Press to exit User Setup.

3.3 Weighing the Patient
1. Attach sling straps to the hangar bar. For proper attachment instructions refer to Attaching a Sling on page 21 in Medacure’s Patient Lift
Instruction Manual.
2. Press the ON/OFF key.
The display will indicate the last weight that was measured. The word “LOCK” will be seen on the display.
The ZERO key is pressed in order to avoid capturing the weight of the sling and the hardware. If the ZERO key is not pressed the weight of the sling
and the weight of the hardware will be included in the weight displayed. NOT ZERO-ING OUT WILL GIVE A FALSE READING OF THE USER'S
TRUE WEIGHT.
3. Press the ZERO key. When the ZERO key is pushed the following will happen:
A. The scale will reset to zero and the word “ZERO” will appear on the display.
B. The lock function will then be turned off and the word “LOCK” will disappear from the display.
The scale is now active and continually updating the weight display.
4. Place the patient in the sling. For patient placement instructions refer to Medacure’s Patient Lift Instruction Manual.
5. Activate the lift mechanism to raise the patient until they are completely supported by the lift. For patient lifting instructions, refer to Lifting the
Patient on page 22 in Medacure’s Patient Lift Instruction Manual.
6. Note the weight display.
7. WhentheweightdisplaybecomesstablepresstheLOCKbuttontolocktheweightdisplay. This willbeindicated bytheword“LOCK”appearing
in the display window.

Shouldit be necessaryto unlocktheweightwhilethepatientis stillsupportedby thelift, theUNLOCKbuttonmaybe pressed. Theweight will
unlock and the word “LOCK” will disappear from the display window. The weight value will then be updated. Once the weight becomesstable
theweightcanbe lockedagainby pressingtheLOCKbutton.
Stablebeingdefinedastheweightfluctuatingtwotenthsofa pound. Forexample,apatientweighing 100 lbs., thescalewill fluctuatebetween99.8
and100.2untiltheLOCKkeyis pressed. Fluctuationof the weight displayedis normalas notedabove. Pressthe LOCK button to lock the weight.
The UNITS button can be pressed to select between units of pounds and kilograms. This is indicated by lb. or kg. appearing in the display screen.
8. The lift may now be lowered and the sling removed from the patient.
The patient's weight will continue to be seen on the display screen. The display will turn off automatically after a 2 minute period of non- use [no
changes in weight exceeding five pounds (two kilograms)]. You can not adjust the time delay for automatic shut off. After the display has turned off,
the weight may be recalled by pressing the ON/OFF button. The unit can be turned off by pressing the ON/OFF button a secondtime.
3.4 Battery Maintenance /Replacing the Battery
To maximize battery life, please note the following;
This scale is powered by a 3 ‘AA’1.5V batteries.
Battery compartment can be opened by unscrewing the 2 screws.
Depending on backlight brightness and idle mode setting, normally, battery works over 65 hours.
In order to conserve battery life, enable Auto-Off and Idle Mode, dim backlight brightness.
To obtain maximum service life, battery should be stored between -20℃(-4°F) and +50℃(122°F).
Stored batteries should be recharged every three months.
When 3 batteries voltage is lower than 3.2V, scale will auto power-off itself. Please replace the depleted batteries with new ones.
When battery replacement is needed, LO BAT will appear on the
display. Perform the following:
1. Remove the battery cover
2. Remove existing battery.
3. Install the new battery.
4. Reinstall the battery door.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other legal rights which vary from state to state.
MedaCure warrants the mattress and cover when purchased new and unused to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase from
MedaCure or a dealer, with a copy of the seller’s invoice required for coverage under this warranty. MedaCure warrants the control unit when purchased new and unused to be free from
defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase from MedaCure or a dealer, with a copy of the seller’s invoice required for coverage under this
warranty. If within such warranty period any such product shall be proven to be defective, such product shall be repaired or replaced, at MedaCure’s option. This warranty does not include any
labor or shipping charges incurred in replacement part installation or repair of any such product. MedaCure’s sole obligation and your exclusive remedy under this warranty shall be limited to
such repair and/or replacement.
For warranty service, please contact the dealer from whom you purchased your MedaCure product or MedaCure customer service only if purchased from MedaCure direct. Provide model
number, and the date of purchase, indicate nature of the defect and, if the product is serialized, indicate the serial number.
DO NOT return products to MedaCure without prior consent. Please obtain a return authorization number from MedaCure. C.O.D. shipments will be refused; return shipping charges must be
prepaid. The defective unit or parts must be returned for warranty inspection using the serial number, when applicable, as identification within thirty days of return authorization date.
LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS: THE WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO PROBLEMS ARISING FROM NORMAL WEAR OR FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL THAT COMES WITH
THE PRODUCT. IN ADDITION, THE FOREGOING WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO SERIAL NUMBERED PRODUCTS IF THE SERIAL NUMBER HAS BEEN REMOVED OR DEFACED; PRODUCTS
SUBJECTED TO NEGLIGENCE, ACCIDENT, IMPROPER OPERATION, MAINTENANCE OR STORAGE; OR PRODUCTS MODIFIED WITHOUT MEDACURE’S EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT INCLUDING, BUT

EVALUATION SHALL BE SOLELY DETERMINED BY MEDACURE.
THE FOREGOING EXPRESS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES WHATSOEVER, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND THE SOLE REMEDY FOR VIOLATIONS OF ANY WARRANTY WHATSOEVER, SHALL BE LIMITED TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF
