vice. You have selected a
high quality product. The instructions
for use are a part of this product.
They contain important information
about safety, using the product and
disposal. Before using the product,
please familiarise yourself with all
the operating and safety instructions.
Only use the product as described
and for its indicated purpose. When
passing this product on to others,
please be sure to include all its
documentation.
Intended use
The solar fairy lights are an ambi-
ent light or a decorative light for
outdoor use. The integrated solar
cell and the rechargeable battery
allow usage independent from the
electricity grid. Any modification to
the product are considered imp roper
use and may result in considerable
hazards. The manufacturer will not
accept liability for loss or damage
arising from improper use. This device
is not intended for commercial use.

This device may be used by
children aged 8 years and up,
as well as by persons with re-
duced physical, sensory or
mental capacities, or lacking
experience and/or knowledge,
so long as they are supervised
or instructed in the safe use of
the device and understand the
associated risks. Do not allow
children to play with the appli-
ance. Cleaning and user mainte-
nance should not be performed
by children without supervision.
Do not use the product if you
detect any type of damage.
Switch the product off whilst
storing in a dark environment to
prevent draining the battery.
This product is only suitable for
the specified use.
Product-specific
safety instructions
Make sure the solar cell is free
of dirt and free of snow and ice
in winter. Otherwise the per-
formance of the solar panel
will be diminished.
Cold temperatures negatively
impact the battery operating
time. If the solar fairy lights will
not be used for extended peri-
ods, e.g. in winter, they should
be cleaned and stored in a dry,
warm location.

batteries
RISK OF ACCI-
DENT AND DAN-
GER TO LIFE FOR INFANTS
AND CHILDREN! Recharge-
able batteries are not intended
to be in the hands of children.
Do not leave the batteries ly-
ing around. There is a danger
that these will be swallowed
by children or pets. If they are
accidentally swallowed seek
immediate medical attention.
CAUTION! EX-
PLOSION HAZ-
ARD! Use only
rechargeable batteries of the
recommended type. Other re-
chargeable or single-use bat-
teries could explode during
charging.
FIRE HAZARD!
Never short-circuit
rechargeable bat-
teries. Otherwise the recharge-
able batteries may overheat,
become a fire hazard or ex-
plode.
CAUTION! EX-
PLOSION HAZ-
ARD! Never throw
rechargeable batteries into
fire or water.
Expired or drained rechargea-
ble batteries may leak chemi-
cals which will damage the
product. Therefore remove the
rechargeable battery if the fairy
lights will not be used for ex-
tended periods.
WEAR PROTEC-
TIVE GLOVES!
Leaked or damaged
rechargeable batteries could
cause chemical burns on con-
tact with the skin; you should
therefore wear suitable protec-
tive gloves at all times if such
an event occurs.
Only use rechargeable batter-
ies of the correct size and and
the recommended type (see
section ”Technical Data”).

E nsure correct polarity, indicated
in the battery compartment.
Functionality
The solar cell built into the product
converts sunlight into electricity and
stores it in a Ni-MH rechargeable
battery. The light switches on at dus k.
The built-in LED is an energy-saving
illuminant with a very long life. The
light duration depends on the amou nt
of sunlight, the angle at which light
hits the solar panel, and the temper-
ature (the battery capacity varies
by temperature). A vertical angle
of light at temperatures above the
freezing point is ideal. The recharge-
able battery will only achieve its
maximum capacity after several
charging and discharging cycles.
Initial use
Before first use, remove the
protective film from the solar
panel.
Assembling the
fairy lights
Push the ground spike 3into
the upright tube 4. Then at-
tach the cover 5to the upright
tube 4(see Fig. A).
Note: Slide the solar cell
housing 1over the cover 5
if this has not been pre-installed
(see Fig. A).

Installing the
fairy lights
Push the ground spike 3far
enough into the ground (lawn,
flower bed) so it is firmly posi-
tioned upright in the ground.
Make sure it is firmly positioned.
Do not use any force when

assembling or setting up the
product, e.g. hammer blows.
This will damage the product.
For optimal results, hang the
solar fairy lights in a location
where the solar cell is exposed
to sunlight for the longest pos-
sible amount of time.
Make sure the solar cell is not
impacted by other light sources,
e.g. yard- or street lighting, or
the light will not switch on at
twilight. In low light the light
will automatically switch on,
and automatically switch off
in normal ambient light.
Switching the fairy
lights on/ off
Push the AUTO/OFF button
2
to switch the fairy lights on. The
fairy lights 11 will automati-
cally switch on or off at twilight.
Push the AUTO/OFF button 2
again to switch the fairy lights
11 off.
Replacing the
rechargeable
battery
Note: For optimal performance,
the rechargeable battery should be
replaced every 12 months.
Remove the solar cell housing
1from the cover 5.
Press the AUTO/OFF button
2
to switch the fairy lights off.
Remove the fixing screws 7
using a small cross-tip screw-
driver. Then open the battery
cover on the solar cell housing
1using a flat-head screw-
driver.
Replace the old battery with a
new one; be sure not to dam-
age the cables. Be sure to in-
sert the batteries in the correct
direction. This is indicated in the
battery compartment. Use only
rechargeable batteries of the
recommended type (see
“Technical Data“).
Close the battery cover and
tighten the retaining screws 7
using a small cross-tip screw-
driver.
Push the AUTO/OFF button 2
to switch the fairy lights on.

Charging
The battery charging period using
the solar cell depends on the inten-
sity of the sunlight and the angle
incidence of the light on the solar
cell. Place the solar cell as perpen-
dicular as possible to the angle of
light incidence. In this way you will
receive the highest light levels.
Maintenance
and Cleaning
The LEDs cannot be replaced. The
solar fairy lights are maintenance
free except for replacing the battery.
Regularly clean the solar fairy
lights with a dry, lint-free cloth.
Use a slightly moist cloth to
remove any stubborn dirt.
Troubleshooting
Note: The device contains sensi-
tive electronic components. Radio
transmitting equipment in the im-
mediate vicinity may therefore cause
interference. If you notice the de-
vice is malfunctioning, remove any
sources of interference from the
area around the device.
Note: Electrostatic discharge can
lead to malfunctions. In the event
of such malfunctions, briefly remove
and reinsert the rechargeable bat-
teries.
Error Cause Solution
The light will not switch
on although the fairy
lights have been expo-
sed to sunlight all day.
Artificial light, e.g.
street light, will interfe-
re with the fairy lights.
Install the fairy lights in
a location where they
will not be affected by
other light sources.

Disposal
The packaging is made
of environmentally friendly
materials, which may
be disposed of through
your local recycling fa-
cilities.
Contact your local community or
municipal administration for more
details on how to dispose of your
worn-out product.
To help protect the envi-
ronment, please dispose
of the product properly,
not without household waste, when
it has reached the end of its useful
life. Please contact your local au-
thority for information on collection
points and their opening hours.
Defective or used rechargeable
batteries must be recycled accord-
ing to Directive 2006 / 66 / EC
and its amendments. Return re-
chargeable batteries and/ or the
device to the recycling facilities
provided.
Improper disposal
of rechargeable
batteries may re-
sult in environmen-
tal damage!
Rechargeable batteries may not
be disposed with household waste.
They may contain toxic heavy met-
als and are subject to hazardous
waste regulations. The chemical
symbols of the heavy metals are:
Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb
= lead. Therefore dispose of used
batteries through your local collec-
tion site.

Note: this product includes a 36
month warranty from the date of
purchase. The product has been
produced to the highest standards
and thoroughly checked before dis-
patch. However, if defects in man-
ufacturing or material arise during
the warranty period, please contact
your retailer immediately.
The warranty does not cover dam-
ages due to improper handling,
failure to comply with the operating
instructions, or manipulation by
unauthorised persons. Most mal-
functions are caused by incorrect
operation. Therefore please first
refer to the operating instructions if
a malfunction occurs.

Funktionsmåde
Den indbyggede solarcelle forvand-
ler lyset til elektrisk energi ved sollys
og lagrer denne i en Ni-MH-akku.
Lyset tændes, når det begynder at
blive mørkt. Den indbyggede lysdi-
ode er en meget langtlevende og
energisparson lyskilde. Belysningens
brændetid afhænger af sollyset, ly-
sets indfaldsvinkel på solarcellen

og temperaturen (på grund af bat-
terikapacitetens temperaturafhæn-
gighed). En lodret lysindfaldsvinkel
ved temperaturer over frysepunktet
er ideel. Akkuen opnår først efter
flere oplade- og afladecykler sin
maksimale kapacitet.
Ibrugtagning
Fjern inden ibrugtagningen be-
skyttelsesfoljen fra solarpanelet.
Montering af
lyskæde
Stik jordspyddet 3i stander-
røret 4. Sæt efterfølgende
afdækningen 5på stander-
røret 4(se afbildning A).
Henvisning: skub solarcelle-
kabinettet 1på afdækningen
5, såfremt dette endnu ikke
skulle være forinstalleret (se
afbildning A).

Opstilling af lyskæde
Stik jorspyddet 3så langt ned
i jorden (græsplæne, blomster-
bed), at dette sidder fast og
oprejst i jorden.
Sørg for en sikker stand. An-
vend ikke vold, f.eks. hammer-
slag, ved monteringen hhv.
opstillingen. Dette beskadiger
produktet. For at opnå et opti-
malt resultat, skal De hænge
solar-sommerlyskæden op på
et sted, hvor solarcellen udsæt-
tes for direkte sollys så længe
som muligt.
Sørg for at solarcellen ikke på-
virkes af en anden lyskilde, som
f.eks. gård- eller gadebelysning,
da lyset ellers ikke tændes i
dæmringen. Ved lav lysstyrke
tændes lyset automatisk, ved
normal omgivelseslysstyrke
slukkes lyset igen.

Udskiftning af batteri
Henvisning: for at opnå en opti-
mal ydelse, så bør akkuen udskiftes
alle 12 måneder.
Fjern solarcellekabinettet 1
fra afdækningen 5.
Sluk for lyskæden, idet De
trykker AUTO- /OFF-tasten 2.
Løsne ved hjælp af en lille
stjerneskruetrækker fastgørelses-
skruerne 7. Løft efterfølgende
solarcellekabinettets 1akku-
rumlåg af ved hjælp af en
stjerneskruetrækker.
Erstat den gamle akku gennem
en ny; sørg for ikke at beska-
dige kablerne. Sørg for korrekt
polaritet ved isætningen. Denne
vises i batterirummet. Anvend
kun akkumulatorer af den an-
befalede type (se „tekniske
data“).
Luk akkulåget, spænd fastgø-
relsesskruerne 7fast ved
hjælp af en lille stjerneskreu-
trækker.
Tryk AUTO-/OFF-tasten 2,
for at tænde for lyskæden.
Skub solarcellekabinettet 1
igen på afdækningen 5(se
afbildning A).
Opladning af batteri
Akkuens opladningstid, i forbindelse
med brug af solcellen, er afhængig
af sollysets lysintensitet og lysets
indfaldsvinkel på solcellen. Stil sol-
cellen så lodret som muligt i forhold
til lysets indfaldsvinkel. På den m åde
opnås den højeste stråleintensitet.
Vedligeholdelse
og rengøring
Lysdioderne kan ikke udskiftes.
Solar-sommerlyskæden er vedlige-
holdelsesfri udover et påkrævet
batteriskift.
