MITEL 600 SIPDECT PHONES FOR
MIVOICE OFFICE 400
A brief overview of the three softkeys
There are three softkeys on the Mitel SIP-DECT phone as
shown in the figure: the Left softkey, the Middle softkey,
and the Right softkey.
Left softkey opens the main Menu that contains phone-
book queries, call lists, ringing profiles and device settings.
Middle softkey opens the Info menu that displays new
missed calls and new voicemail, and
Right softkey opens the Options menu that shows call
related functions such as hold/retrieve a call, transfer a
call, take call from another device and so on.
Handle an incoming call
Do one of the following to respond to an incoming call:
• To accespt the call, press the key or press the Right softkey, and click Accept call.
• To reject the call, press the key or the Reject softkey. Alternately, press the Right softkey and click
Reject call during the ringing phase. The call is rejected and, depending on the system configuration, the caller
either hears the busy tone or the call is forwarded to a preconfigured destination.
• To deactivate the ringer, press the Ringer O softkey during the ringing phase. The ringer is deactivated, but you can
still answer the call.
• To enable the hands-free mode, press the key. In hands-free mode, the loudspeaker is activated in addition to
the handset.
Quick Reference Guide
Place a call
Dialing with the phone number
1. Enter the phone number.
2. Press the key.
Dialing from the system phone book
1. Press the Menu softkey.
2. Scroll to Directories and press Ok.
3. Select Central directory and press Ok. The Quickdial
and the Dial by name options appear.
4. Directory lookup with Quickdial: In the Quickdial field,
enter few digits (1 corresponding digit for each letter of
the name) and press Ok. A list of matching names (or
an empty list if no matching user is found) is displayed.
(For example: If you are looking for the name ‘Paul‘,
type 7-2-8-5 to search for Paul. Press key twice to
enter space.
OR
Directory lookup with Dial by name: In the
Dial by name field, enter the first few letters
of the name and press Ok. Names list (or List
empty, if no matching user is found) is displayed.
5. Scroll through the list, select the user, and press key.
Dialing from the VIP list
1. Press the Menu softkey.
2. Scroll to Directories and press Ok.
3. Select VIP-list and press Ok.
4. Select number from the list and click key.
Transfer a call
1. While on an active call with one of the
contacts, to initiate call transfer, press the
right softkey.
2. Scroll to Transfer and press the Ok softkey.
3. Enter the target’s number and confirm with the Ok
softkey.
Redial a number
1. Press the key to view a list of recently
dialed numbers.
2. Use the up and down navigation keys to
scroll through the entries and select the number.
3. Press the key to dial the selected number.
Hold/Resume a call
1. To place an active call on hold, press the Right
softkey.
2. Scroll to Hold and press the Ok softkey.
3. To resume the call, press the Right
softkey.
4. Scroll to Retrieve and press the Ok
softkey. You can also retrieve the call by
pessing the Left softkey.
End a call
• Press the key.
Lock/Unlock the keypad
1. To lock the keypad, keep the hash key pressed down
for approximately two seconds.
2. To unlock the keypad, press the unlock softkey and
the hash key.
Set up a conference call
1. While on an active call, to create
a conference by involving a third
participant, press the right softkey.
2. Scroll to Brokering and press the Ok softkey.
3. Enter the target participant’s number and confirm
by pressing the Ok softkey.
4. Wait for an answer, and when connected, press the
Right softkey.
5. Scroll to Conference and press the Ok softkey. The
third particpant is also connected to the call.
To leave the conference call, press the key.
View call list
Press the function key for Call list to view
a list of outgoing and incoming calls. You
can view, delete, or dial numbers from the
Call List. You can also access the call list by navigating
through Menu > Caller list or by pressing the Middle
softkey. The Call list displays the following:
• unanswered calls
• answered calls
• a redial list
Access voicemail
Contact your system administrator to
configure the voicemail functionality.
When the voicemail functionality is
enabled, your phone display indicates new events. The
message LED is slowly flashes red and the icon
displays on the status bar indicating that there are new
voicemail messages.
While configuring your device, your system
administrator can specify that you be notified by email
whenever you receive a new voice message (with the
voice message attached). Note that deleting this email
notification, also deletes the voice message from your
phone. Contact your system administrator for more
information.
You can access your new voice message by pressing
the Middle softkey. Alternatively, perform the following
steps to access the voice messages:
1. Press the Menu softkey.
2. Scroll to Voice box and press the Ok softkey.
Mute/Unmute the microphone
1. Press the key while on an active call to
mute the microphone for your handset,
headset, and the speaker.
2. Press the key again to unmute the microphone.
Managing personal contacts and VIP
Personal contacts appear in phonebook queries and are shared by all phones of the user. Personal contacts are
stored in the MiVoice Oce 400 and can be managed using the web-based self-service portal.
In addition, each Mitel 600 SIP-DECT phones supports a VIP list stored in the phone itself. It can be used to store
favorite call numbers or functions with *-features codes. The VIP list is available only in the Mitel DECT phone.

Lock/Unlock the phone
To lock the phone
1. Press the Menu softkey.
2. Scroll to Settings and press Ok.
3. Scroll to Security and press Ok.
4. Enter the PIN and press the Ok softkey.
5. Select the Phone lock check-box by pressing Ok.
Phone is locked and is displayed.
To unlock the phone
1. Press the softkey,
2. Enter the PIN and press the Ok softkey.
Customize your phone with Self
Service Portal
Log-in to the Self Service Portal (SSP) to customize
your SIP-DECT cordless phone and manage your
personal contacts. The Self Service Portal is a web-
based application provided by the MiVoice Oce 400
communication system that helps you configure and
adapt the personal settings of your Mitel SIP-DECT
cordless phones. It allows you to configure keys, to
manage voicemail greetings, call forwarding desti-
nations as well as call routing options. Contact your
system administrator to obtain access to the Self
Service Portal.

information about a specific topic.
