2 Preface
This manual is a guide for the correct installation, use and maintenance of this
product. Study it carefully before starting to use the product or before carrying
out any maintenance. Keep the manual where it is always close at hand.
Replace it immediately if lost.
This product has been designed to meet the requirements of the relevant EC
directives. To maintain this status, all installation, repair and maintenance
work must be carried out by qualied personnel using only Nederman original
spare parts. Contact your nearest authorized distributor or Nederman for
advice on technical service or if you require help with spare parts.
Many hours have been spent on the design and production of this product in
order to make it as efcient and safe as possible. Accidents that occur despite
this are usually caused by individuals. A safety-conscious person and a well-
maintained product make a safe and effective combination.
We continuously improve our products and their efciency through the
introduction of design modications. We reserve the right to do this without
introducing these improvements on previously supplied products. We also
reserve the right, without previous notice, to modify data and equipment, as
well as operating and maintenance instructions.

See Figure 1 and the following list for an overview of the unit’s physical
appearance and measurements:

5 Hood mounting instruction
The Fume Extractor arm is already tted. The hood must be tted according to
the Figure 3, items A–D.
A. Insert the hood into the swiveling arm, and fasten together.
B. Adjust the swiveling arm to the correct tension.
C. Ensure that the swiveling arm has the correct tension and can be easiliy
positioned.
D. Fasten the blue hose into the hood and secure it using the tightening ring.
6 Directions for use
The unit is only intended for indoor use and is designed for extraction and
ltration of dust or welding fumes. It must not be used for extraction of uids.
Figure 4 and the following list illustrates how to use the unit:
1. Lever for adjusting the damper.
2. Switches for fan and spotlight.
The hood of the extraction arm is to be positioned as close to the pollution
source as possible. The unit is to be moved from behind according to Figure 4,
item A and with the wheels unlocked. The extraction arm is to be positioned
with the wheels locked according to item B.

explosion.
• The unit must not be used in an environment with danger of explosion or for
dust or gases in explosive concentrations.
• If the unit has been used for dust applications it must not be used for
welding fumes or grinding dust.
• The unit must not be used for extracting toxic substances.
• The unit must not be used without lter cartridge and casing.
7 Changing the lter cartridge
The lter cartridge is disposable and is to be thrown-away after use. The life of
the lter cartridge varies greatly depending on how the unit is used, how much
and what type of pollutants are collected.
Regularly monitor the unit’s extraction capacity at the hood and change the
lter cartridge when the extraction capacity is too poor. Always check that
the hoses for the extraction arm and the fan inlet are not damaged before it is
decided to change the lter cartridge.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
Use necessary personal safety equipment when replacing the lter cartridges.
Change the lter cartridge as follows (see also Figure 5):
1. Disconnect the mains connection cable.
2. Unlock the eccentric locks and remove the lter casing.
3. Use the plastic bag which comes with the new lter cartridge and pull it
over the used cartridge. Fold the plastic bag under the cartridge.

4. Handle the used lter cartridge according to the relevant regulations for
the collected substances.
5. Wipe off the lter cartridge contact surfaces in the unit.
6. Check that the new lter cartridge is not damaged. Then t it on the unit.
7. Ret the lter casing. Make sure the eccentric locks tighten the lter
casing properly.
• A: Increasing the locking power.
• B: Decreasing the locking power.
8 Changing the HEPA lter (accessory)
If the unit has been supplied with a HEPA lter, the lter is to be changed
when the main lter cartridge is changed.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
Use necessary personal safety equipment when changing the HEPA lter.
Change the HEPA lter cartridge as follows (see also Figure 6):
1. Disconnect the mains connection cable.
2. Unscrew the top cover.
3. Remove the used HEPA lter and put it in the plastic bag which comes
with the new HEPA lter. Close the plastic bag.
4. Handle the used HEPA lter according to the relevant regulations for the
substances that have been collected.
5. Check that the new HEPA lter not is damaged. Note that the lter surface
must not be touched. Handle the HEPA lter very carefully and t it
in the unit. Ensure it is tted in the correct position and that the seal is
downwards. Check that the seal not is damaged. Note the UP-arrows.
6. Ret the top cover. Fasten it securaly.
9 Maintenance
Installation, repair and maintenance work must be carried out by qualied
personnel using only original spare parts. Contact your nearest authorised
distributor or AB Ph. Nederman & Co. for advice on technical service or if you
require spare parts. See also www.nederman.com.
Maintenance is recommended at least once a year.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
• Disconnect the mains connection cable before starting any maintenance work.
• Use necessary personal safety equipment.
Perform maintenance work as follows:
• Change the lter cartridge (and optional HEPA-lter) if necessary.
• Check the airow capacity of the unit.
• Check that the Fume Extractor hose is not damaged. If necessary, change
the hose.

• Check that the hose to the fan inlet is not damaged. If necessary, change
the hose.
• Check that no objects have been caught on the guard net on the fan inlet.
• If necessary, adjust the Fume Extractor links.
• If necessary, tighten the arm prole bolts, see the * symbols in Figure 7.
• Check that the mains connection cable and the fan motor cable are not
worn or damaged.
• Check that the eccentric locks tighten the lter casing properly. Adjust the
eccentric locks if necessary.
9.1 Spare parts

When ordering spare parts always state the following:
• Part number and control number (see the product identication plate).
• Detail number and name of the spare part (see www.nederman.com).
• Quantity of the parts required.
10 Recycling
The product has been designed for component materials to be recycled.
Its different material types must be handled according to relevant local
regulations. Contact the distributor or Nederman if uncertainties arise when
scrapping the product at the end of its service life.
