1 Preface
Read all product documentaon and product idencaon plate carefully before
installaon, use, and service of this product. Replace documentaon immediately if lost.
Nederman reserves the right, without previous noce, to modify and improve its products
including documentaon.
This product is designed to meet the requirements of relevant EC direcves. To maintain
this status, all installaon, maintenance and repair is to be done by qualied personnel
using only Nederman original spare parts and accessories. Contact the nearest authorized
distributor or Nederman for advice on technical service and obtaining spare parts. If there
are any damaged or missing parts when the product is delivered, nofy the carrier and the
local Nederman representave immediately.
2 Noces

hazard may be avoided.

3 Safety
This document contains important informaon that is presented as either a warning,
cauon or note. See the following examples:

• Always read secon 3. Safety before installaon, use, service, or troubleshoong of this
product.
• Follow all local rules and regulaons for installaon, service and troubleshoong of this
product.
• The product must not be used for extracng such dust/gas-mixtures which could aect
the product materials. See gure 3.
• The Extractor Arm must not be used for extracng gas-mixtures in explosion category
II C *.
• Do not use the Extractor Arm for EX/ESD applicaons.
• The Extractor Arm must not be used for extracng poisonous substances.
• Check that no objects which can cause sparking or re can be drawn in to the arm.
• Avoid mixing dust from dierent processes, for example service works and plasc
grinding mixed with metal grinding.

4 Descripon
4.1 Intended use

FX2 Chem: Chemical applicaons
4.1.1 Original arm
FX2 Original is intended for applicaons where small, exible and easy-to-use arms are
required, and for general applicaons where there is lile risk of electrical discharges or
aack by aggressive chemicals.
4.1.2 Chemical arm
FX2 Chem is intended for applicaons where small, exible and easy-to-use arms are
required. It has proles made of anodized aluminium with a white electrophorec
deposion coang for fume extracon in aggressive environments where there must be
resistance from corrosion.

5.1 Delivery check
If there are any damaged or missing parts when the product is delivered, nofy the carrier
and the local Nederman representave immediately.
5.2 Mounng instrucon
See gures 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The extractor arm can be mounted on wall, bench, oor or
ceiling. A mounng instrucon comes together with the accessories wall/ceiling bracket,
hood and bench bracket.
See gure 9. The arm must always be mounted so that the adjusng knobs on the links are
on the right hand side.
If an UP-arrow is posioned near the duct connector, the arm must only be installed so that
this arrow points upwards.
See gure 10. Make sure the arm and the duct are properly connected.
See gure 13. Do not use a screw with that part of the arm.
5.3 Adjusng the links
The links are factory set for normal working posion. Always check and adjust the links so
they will suit the users preference.

6.1 Arm posion
See gure 14. Always place the arm as close as possible to the source. When possible, place
the arm sideways to the source for best capture, to avoid interfering with the work process,
and to minimize the eect from cross dra. See gure 14(A).
Always check that the airow is sucient in the hood before work begins. Insucient
airow can be due to:
• The fan impeller rotates in the wrong direcon.
• Hood, arm or ducts are blocked.
7 Maintenance

7.1 Roune inspecon and service
Follow the list in. Appendix B: Maintenance checklist to rounely inspect, and repair or
replace worn and damaged parts on the inside and outside of the product.
7.2 Spare parts
Contact your nearest authorized distributor or Nederman for advice on technical service or
if you require help with spare parts. See also www.nederman.com.
Ordering spare parts
When ordering spare parts always state the following:
• Part number and control number (see the product idencaon plate).
• Detail number and name of the spare part (see www.nederman.com).
• Quanty of the parts required.
7.3 Recycling
The product has been designed for component materials to be recycled. Its dierent
material types must be handled according to relevant local regulaons. Contact the
distributor or Nederman if uncertaines arise when scrapping the product at the end of its
service life.
