USER INSTRUCTIONS
STANDARD WALL MOUNTED FOLDING
SUPPORT RAIL
General Safety Warning
This Product must be fitted be a suitably qualified
person. Please make sure that you read and
follow these instructions carefully. Failure to do
so can result in injury. Keep these instructions in
a safe place for future reference.

1.0 INTENDED USE
The Standard Folding Support Rail is a high quality wall mounted steel rail which provides a stable support
to assist the user raise and lower themselves for toileting. The rail can be raised back to the wall when not
in use or when transferring from the side.

2.0 SAFETY
• Read these instructions before installation and
use.
• This product must be correctly assembled,
installed, and maintained.
• This product must be installed by a suitably
qualified, competent, person.
• Never drill through pre-stressed concrete to
install a folding support rail.
• Always check for concealed electrical cables
and water pipes when installing; also check your
legal requirements relating to earth bonding of
extraneous metal parts.
• Do not exceed the maximum load - Note this is
based on the product being fitted to a suitable
surface using appropriate fixings.
• Do not install in a shower.
3.0 UNPACKING
Remove the packaging and check all parts carefully.
Contact your supplier immediately if parts are
missing or damaged and do not try and assemble.
4.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 General:
• Only install the product in an area where the
mounting surface and substrate are structurally
sound - Strengthening modifications to the fixing
surface may be required.
• Also check the type of substrate you intend to fix
it to e.g. brick/block timber or concrete. Always
check that the type of fixing you are going to use
is compatible with the substrate.
Note: As the substrate can vary considerably,
we cannot recommend any particular fixings; if
in any doubt; consult a reputable fixings supplier
for advice.
• Ensure that when correctly located, the rail can
be raised and lowered without interference from
other fixtures and furniture and that transfer can
be carried out safely.
4.2 Installation:
1. Position the wall plate against the wall at the
height required, check the arm can be raised or
lowered without interference.
2. Mark the position of the holes.
3. Drill the holes, as appropriate for the fixings/
screws being used. See section 4.1
4. Place Wall plate against wall and secure using
the chosen fixings. When fitted, check the rail
is securely fixed to the wall and that the arm
can be raised and lowered without interference.
Also check that the friction lock is effective and
that the support rail will hold itself at any angle
during movement (i.e. it does not drop down on
its own).

5. Important; after installing the product, perform a
final tighten and inspection of all fasteners
6. Test the installation, ensure the rail is rigid,
stable and fit for purpose.
5.0 CLEANING
Clean regularly, wiping down using a soft cloth
and a mild detergent /disinfectant solution.
Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Do not autoclave.
Always ensure that you wipe dry all equipment
and regularly treat joints with a water dispersing
agent e.g. WD40.
6.0 MAINTENANCE
Periodically check the stability and rigidity of the
product and, where applicable, that screws are
tightened and in good condition.
If you see any damage or suspect a fault, do not
use and contact your supplier.
7.0 PRODUCT DISPOSAL
This product should be thoroughly cleaned prior
to disposal.
This product is manufactured from metal and
plastic and can be disposed of through Local
Authority Household Waste and Recycling
Centres or through Local Trade Waste
Collectors.
8.0 PRODUCT GUARANTEE
NRS Healthcare guarantee this product for a
period of 12 months, from the date of purchase,
against faulty materials and workmanship.
This guarantee does not cover; abuse, misuse,
interference or tampering with any part of the
product.
Any guarantee issued by NRS Healthcare does
not affect your statutory rights.
