xOnly connect the unit if the electrical data of the unit and the power supply match.
xDo not use the unit as a toy. Close attention is necessary when the product is used
by or near children.

xA damaged connection cable cannot be replaced. Dispose of the unit.
xDo not carry or pull the unit by its power cable.
xRoute lines so that they are protected from damage and nobody can trip over

Use the device indoors only.
Do not dispose of the device with normal household waste.
Read the operating instructions.

Intended use
Only use the product described in this manual as follows:
xOnly use indoors and for aquaristic purposes in the home (not for commercial use).
xFor heating the water in the aquarium.
xOnly operate with water at a water temperature of +39.2 °F to +95 °F (+4 °C to
+35 °C).
xOperate the product in compliance with the technical data. (→ Technical data)
The following restrictions apply to the unit:
xNever use the unit with fluids other than water.
xNever run the unit without water.
xDo not use in conjunction with chemicals, foodstuff, easily flammable or explosive
substances.

Installation and connection
Install heater in the BioStyle filter system
The heater is suitable for use in the OASE BioStyle filter.
xThe installation of the heater is described in the OASE filter BioStyle operating in-
structions.
You can remove or install the heater to
xRetrofit your filter with a heater,
xThoroughly clean the filter housing,
xReplace a defective heater.

Commissioning/start-up
CAUTION
Risk of burns from hot surface.
fTurn the heater off and let it cool down before removing it from the water.
NOTE
Fire hazard due to highly flammable material on hot surface.
fTurn the heater off and let it cool down before removing it from the water.
fDo not leave the heater unattended after removing it from the water.
xSwitching on: Plug the power plug into the outlet.
– The unit switches on immediately.
– Lay the power supply cord so that a drip loop is formed and the lowest point is
below the socket. This prevents dripping water from entering the socket.
xSwitching off: Pull the power plug from the outlet.

Maintenance and cleaning
NOTE
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions. These agents can dam-
age the housing, impair the function of the device and harm animals, plants and the
environment.
fOnly clean the unit with clear water and a soft brush.
LClean the unit as required, but at least twice a year.
