About this Guide
This guide is part of a suite of on-line and printed documentation
provided to help you become familiar with the CX3641MFP and make
the best use of its many powerful features.
Purpose of this Guide
The purpose of this guide is to provide you with detailed information
about the Scan, Copy, E-mail and Fax functions. In addition, it
provides information on how to use the extensive and powerful
controls on the CX3641MFP to create the best digital file for your
needs.

About the CX3641MFP
Features
The unit includes the following features:
•Color printing and copying at 36 ppm; Mono printing and copying
at 40 ppm
•Optional full-featured 33.6 G3 analog fax
•Embedded EFI Fiery System 8e and SendMe (for simplified
document distribution and management, and a streamlined
workflow)
•Standard Scansoft PaperPort and OmniPage applications
•Improved LDAP support to easily select e-mail addresses from a
corporate e-mail directory
•Single-pass duplex automatic document feeder (ADF) for duplex
copying/scanning at up to 50 ppm
•Great flexibility, in conjunction with SendMe, for routing and
managing hard copy documents and walk-up scanning
•A 40 Gb Hard Drive for handling flexibility and storage of large
print jobs
Using the unit to its Best Advantage
Before using the unit to scan or copy, answer these questions: What
are you and/or the recipient going to do with your pages/images? Are
you going to print them? Post them to the web? Archive them? Edit
them in the future? Some functions create a digital file of the scanned
document that can be stored. Other functions take your document
and fax or copy it without saving a digital copy. See Figure 1-1,
“Functional Overview,” on page 15 for a graphic overview of the unit
and its functions.
