I.Features and Uses
Though optical enlargement, this comparison microscope ,can help the user to
observe clearly, by looking into the same eyepiece set, the images in both the right
and the left imaging view fields, and compare two or more objects effectively in
cutting, joining or overlapping view fields. Due to its powerful magnification, this
instrument enables the user to perceive the differences between very small similar
objects.
Model A18.1828 Comparison Microscope is a new generation product of our
long-time experience and technical innovation. With our success in solving the
technical problem of the adjustability of its separation line width, its quality has,
therefore, reached the international advanced standard.
This model is an ideal instrument for police stations, procuratorial organs and
courthouses to identify finger prints, shot marks, tool traces, seals and writings, and
for colleges and universities to use for educational purposes as well. It is also suitable
for banks, archeological studies, electronics researches, biological science and
agriculture, etc.

III. Assembly and Preliminary Observation
1. Loose the clamping screw, take off the dust cover, fix up the binocular
head(16),and then clamp it with this screw;
2. Remove two dust covers from the binocular tubes, insert the required eyepieces
into the tubes;
3. Plug one end of the power line into the socket on the base, the other to the socket
with 110V-220V ground protection;
4. After the above steps are completed, you can carry on preliminary observation.
Place two pieces of paper on the table plates(19), press the total switch to turn on
this instrument, and drive the knob (3 ), observe this paper’s images through two
eyepieces, and then drive left or right lifting knob(5) until observe the sharpest
images.
In order to acquire more better effect, you must know further this instrument’s
functions.
Ⅳ.Functions and Operations
1.Turn on total switch (1), according to your demand , press the light source
changeover switch on control panel (23) to select air-blast light source(18) or LED

cold light source(7).
2.View-speed adjustment : Fix up eyepiece, drive binocular head(16) to adjust
interpupillary distance, shown as Fig.2

3.Horizontal working table: Place some specimen on two table plates, separately
drive left and right lifting knob(5) to keep the image clear. For moving left and right
the stage, rotate the knob(21); for moving forward and backward the stage , rotate the
knob(22).
4.Adjustment of separation line: The separation line should be a fine and black
straight one. Turn the separation line adjusting knob(10) to move the separation line,
you may get the left and right single viewfield observation, cutting-image and
superimposed-image comparison. When black and white line are wider , rotate the
black screw at the right of the knob(10), when width are not identical , rotate the
black one at the left of the knob(10).

5.Magnification Adjustment: For in use, both left and right objective should be at the
same magnification . To rotate the six-holes nosepiece (8) to select the required

magnification. In order to observe a large viewfield, set 0.4X low-magnification
objective to the whorl (at the downside of objective) and then renew focusing .

To order to keep both left and right objective at the same magnification, the
operator must make focusing by the following methods : separately place the
magnification reticles(30) on two table plates, and view them through eyepieces until
two reticles’ scale can completely coincide . If the left and right scales are not
matched , turn the magnification correcting knob until the reticles’ images are
sharp , and then move the reticles to keep two reticles’ scales completely coincide.
Repeat several operations , you may make sure that both left and right objective are at
the same magnification . When change the objective’s magnification, make some
adjustment according to the above methods.

7.Video recording: For video recording , fit up video recording tube(11), on which the
CCD (12) is fixed, and then use special video wire, connect to monitor(or computer),
push in the lever, the operator may observe an image on screen.
8. Photographing: After finishing visual observation, draw out the lever for
photographing. Fit the back of camera into the adapter(13), and then insert to the
instrument. Observe the object through viewframe , adjust both left and right stages
to obtain a satisfying image, and then take a photo.
9.Polarization Light : Insert polarizer to the chamber of strong light mount , set
analyzer to objective tube, shown as Fig.6

10.Coaxial Light : Set coaxial light device to objective tube , adjust strong light
mount to the horizontal location , and vertically illuminate the deep hole, if observe
the inside of hole , incline the table plate.

11.Power source: All electric parts are built into the base of instrument. If there is
some wrong with the instrument , firstly check the fuse at the back of base. Any
further examination or repair which might become necessary should be entrusted to
our factory or other special department.
Ⅴ. Maintenances
 The instrument must be kept in shade ,cool and dry place ,free of dust ,acid ,alkali
and vapor. As soon as work is finished , the dustcover should be put on it.
 The instrument must be kept clean. The dust of optical surface can be blown by a
balloon or should be cleaned off with a soft hair brush, the dirty can be wiped off
gently with lens tissue moistened with xylene.
 The instrument should not be disassembled by the user .Any examination or
repair which might become necessary should be entrusted to our factory or other
special department.
