3 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
3.1 Verwendungszweck
Das Produkt ist ausschließlich zur orthetischen Versorgung der unteren Ex
tremität einzusetzen.
Das Orthesengelenk nur paarweise einsetzen.
3.2 Indikationen
Bei Teillähmung oder kompletter Lähmung der Beinmuskulatur.
Die Indikation wird vom Arzt gestellt.
3.3 Nutzungseinschränkungen
Das Produkt ist nicht für die Verwendung bei starken Belastungen, z.B.
Sport, Gartenarbeit oder Heben und Tragen schwerer Gegenstände, die ei
ne größere körperliche Anstrengung zur Folge haben, geeignet.

3.4 Lebensdauer
Das Produkt ist bei bestimmungsgemäßer Verwendung und fachgerechter
Montage für eine Lebensdauer von 3Jahren ausgelegt.
3.5 Qualifikation
Die Versorgung eines Patienten mit dem Produkt darf nur von ausgebilde
tem Fachpersonal vorgenommen werden. Es wird vorausgesetzt, dass das
Fachpersonal im Umgang mit den unterschiedlichen Techniken, Materialien,
Werkzeugen und Maschinen vertraut ist.
4 Sicherheit

5 Gebrauchsfähigkeit herstellen
Orthesenbau
►Für den Ober- und Unterschenkelbereich geeignete Materialien auswäh
len, um die Torsionsspannung auf die Orthese zu reduzieren.
►Zur Rückverfolgung, wie im Produkthaftungsgesetz gefordert, die Teile
und Chargennummer in der Patientenakte registrieren.
►Zur korrekten Ausrichtung der Orthesengelenke die Justieradapter
743Y57=1-6 verwenden.
►Die Orthesengelenke sind standardmäßig mit einem Winkel von 7°
Knieflexion hergestellt. Bei Anpassungen an Orthesengelenken aus Alu
minium einen Winkel von 10° und bei Stahl 15° Knieflexion nicht über
schreiten.
►Bei der Verwendung von Thermoplast mit zusätzlichen Armierungen im
Bereich des Oberschenkels und der Wade arbeiten.
Produkt vor Umwelteinflüssen schützen
►Die Aluminiumschienen mit einer Schutzschicht versehen oder leicht po
lieren.
►Der verwendete Stahl kann rosten. Für zusätzlichen Schutz und vor
Übergabe an den Patienten, das Produkt mit einer Abdeckung oder ei
nem Farbanstrich versehen.
Schienen schränken
►Die Schienen mit den Schränkeisen anrichten, dabei die Gelenkköpfe
keiner Biegebelastung aussetzen.
►Der Biegeradius muss mindestens 20mm betragen. Der zulässige Bie
gebereich ist mit einer gepunkteten Laserlinie auf den Schienen gekenn
zeichnet, innerhalb dieses Bereichs nicht schränken.
►INFORMATION: Das Schränken der Schienen auf ein Minimum be
schränken, da übermäßiges Biegen der Schienen zum Verlust der
Festigkeit und zu vorzeitigen Bruch der Schienen führen kann.
Schienen wärmebehandeln
Alle Schienen sind wärmebehandelt.
►Die Schienen erwärmen, dabei die Temperaturgrenzwerte für Aluminium
von 150°C (302°F) und für Stahl von 300°C (572°F) einhalten.
►GEFAHR! Beim kräftigen Schleifen und Polieren der Schienen kön
nen Temperaturen über 100°C erreicht werden. Die Schienen lang
sam an der Luft abkühlen lassen und nicht zum sofortigen Aus
kühlen in kaltes Wasser tauchen.

Schienen bohren
Das Bohren von Löchern in die Schienen ist zulässig.
►Die Löcher für das Befestigungsmaterial in die Schienen bohren, dabei
muss der Abstand zwischen dem Bohrloch und der Außenkante der
Schiene mindestens dem Durchmesser des Bohrlochs entsprechen.
►INFORMATION: Die Bohrlöcher dürfen auf keinen Fall repariert
oder gefüllt werden.
Befestigungsmaterial montieren
►Das Befestigungsmaterial montieren.
INFORMATION: Dabei sicherstellen, dass das Befestigungsmateri
al den Verriegelungsmechanismus nicht behindert.
Orthesengelenk endmontieren
►Zum Einfetten des Metalls Spezialschmiermittel 633F7 verwenden.
►Die Schraubverbindung mit Loctite241 sichern .
INFORMATION
Übergabe der fertigen Orthese an den Patienten
Vor Abgabe der Orthese an den Patienten sind die Passform, der Sitz und
alle Funktionen zu überprüfen.
Auf die parallele Ausrichtung der Orthesengelenke zueinander ach
ten.
Den Patienten in den Umgang mit dem Produkt einweisen.
6 Patientenhinweise
Informieren Sie den Patienten:
Orthese auf Beschädigungen kontrollieren
►Täglich die Orthese auf Beschädigungen kontrollieren. Bei festgestellten
Veränderungen umgehend das Fachpersonal kontaktieren.
7 Reinigung
System-Gelenke müssen nach dem Kontakt mit salz-, chlor- oder seifenhalti
gen Wasser oder bei Verschmutzungen umgehend gereinigt werden.
1) System-Gelenke mit reinem Süßwasser abspülen.
2) System-Gelenke mit einem Tuch abtrocknen oder an der Luft trocknen
lassen. Direkte Hitzeeinwirkung vermeiden (z.B. Ofen- oder Heizkörper
hitze).

8 Wartung
INFORMATION
Möglicherweise ist das Produkt patientenspezifisch einer erhöhten
Belastung ausgesetzt.
►Verkürzen Sie die Wartungsintervalle gemäß den zu erwartenden Be
lastungen.
Alle 6Monate schreibt der Hersteller für das Produkt mindestens eine
Funktions- und Verschleißkontrolle vor.
Nur Spezialschmiermittel 633F7 verwenden.
Für die Wartung des Produkts kann ein zugehöriges Serviceset bestellt wer
den.
Die Ersatzteile sind im Kapitel Produktbeschreibung unter „Bauteile/Kon
struktion“ aufgeführt.
Vor Abgabe der Orthese an den Patienten alle Schraubverbindungen mit
Loctite241 sichern.
Im Zweifelsfall wenden Sie sich bitte an den Hersteller.
9 Entsorgung
Das Produkt gemäß den geltenden nationalen Vorschriften entsorgen.
10 Rechtliche Hinweise
Alle rechtlichen Bedingungen unterliegen dem jeweiligen Landesrecht des
Verwenderlandes und können dementsprechend variieren.
10.1 Haftung
Der Hersteller haftet, wenn das Produkt gemäß den Beschreibungen und
Anweisungen in diesem Dokument verwendet wird. Für Schäden, die durch
Nichtbeachtung dieses Dokuments, insbesondere durch unsachgemäße
Verwendung oder unerlaubte Veränderung des Produkts verursacht werden,

3 Intended use
3.1 Indications for use
The product is intended exclusively for orthotic fittings of the lower limbs.
Use the orthotic joint in pairs only.
3.2 Indications
Partial or total paralysis of the leg muscles.
Indications must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Restrictions for use
The product is not suited for use with heavy stress, suchas sports, garden
ing or lifting/carrying heavy items, which result in greater physical exertion.
3.4 Lifetime
The product is designed for a lifetime of 3years when used as intended and
assembled professionally.

3.5 Qualification
Patients may be fitted with the product only by trained qualified personnel.
The qualified personnel must be familiar with the handling of the various
techniques, materials, machines and tools.

5 Preparing the product for use
Orthosis alignment
►Select suitable materials for the upper and lower leg areas to reduce the
torsional stress on the orthosis.
►Record the parts and lot number in the patient file to enable tracing in
accordance with product liability law.
►Use the 743Y57=1-6 alignment insert for the correct alignment of the
orthotic joints.
►The orthotic joints are produced with a standard 7° knee flexion angle.
When adjusting orthotic joints, do not exceed a knee flexion angle of 10°
for aluminium and 15° for steel.
►When using thermoplastic material, additional reinforcement is required
in the area of the thigh and calf.
Protect the product against environmental influences
►Apply a protective coating to the aluminium bars or polish them slightly.
►The steel that is used can rust. Apply a cover or paint to the product for
extra protection before handing it over to the patient.
Bending bars
►Align the bars with the bending irons without exposing the joint heads to
any bending load.
►The bending radius must be at least 20mm. The allowable bending
range is marked with a dotted laser line on the bars – do not bend
inside that range.
►INFORMATION: Limit the bending of bars to a minimum, as
excessive bending of bars can result in loss of stability and prema
ture breakage of the bars.
Heat treatment of bars
All bars have been heat-treated.
►Heat the bars while observing the temperature limits for aluminium of
150°C (302°F) and for steel of 300°C (572°F).
►DANGER! Grinding and polishing the bars with much force can
create temperatures of above 100°C. Slowly air-cool the rails and
do not immerse them in cold water for immediate cooling.

Drilling bars
Holes may be drilled in the bars.
►Drill the holes for the mounting material in the bars. The distance
between the hole and the outer edge of the bar must be at least equal to
the diameter of the hole.
►INFORMATION: The holes must not be repaired or filled under any
circumstances.
Installing mounting materials
►Install the mounting materials.
INFORMATION: Make sure that the mounting materials do not
obstruct the locking mechanism.
Final assembly of orthosis joint
►Use the 633F7 special lubricant to grease the metal.
►Secure the screw connection with Loctite241.
INFORMATION
Delivery of finished orthosis to the patient
Prior to delivery of the orthosis to the patient, the fit, support and all func
tions must be tested.
Pay attention to the parallel alignment of the orthotic joints.
Instruct the patient in handling the product.
6 Patient information
Inform the patient:
Inspect the orthosis for damage
►Inspect the orthosis for damage daily. Contact the qualified personnel
promptly if changes are noted.
7 Cleaning
System joints must be cleaned promptly after contact with water containing
salt, chlorine or soap, or when they get dirty.
1) Rinse system joints with clean fresh water.
2) Dry system joints with a cloth or allow to air dry. Avoid exposure to direct
heat (e.g. from an oven or radiator).

8 Maintenance
INFORMATION
The product may be exposed to increased loads by the patient.
►Shorten the maintenance intervals according to the expected loads.
The manufacturer requires an inspection of the product every 6months to
verify functionality and check for wear at a minimum.
Only use 633F7 special lubricant.
A service kit can be ordered for product maintenance.
Spare parts are listed in the section "Components/design".
Before handing the orthosis over to the patient, secure all screw connec
tions with Loctite241.
If you have any doubts, please contact the manufacturer.
9 Disposal
Dispose of the product in accordance with national regulations.
10 Legal information
All legal conditions are subject to the respective national laws of the country
of use and may vary accordingly.
10.1 Liability
The manufacturer will only assume liability if the product is used in accord
ance with the descriptions and instructions provided in this document. The
manufacturer will not assume liability for damage caused by disregarding the

3 Utilisation conforme
3.1 Usage prévu
Le produit est exclusivement destiné à l’appareillage orthétique des
membres inférieurs.
N’utilisez l’articulation d’orthèse que par paire.
3.2 Indications
En cas de paralysie partielle ou complète des muscles des jambes.
L’indication est déterminée par le médecin.

Le produit est conçu pour une durée de vie de 3ans si son utilisation est
conforme et le montage correct.
3.5 Qualification
Seul un personnel spécialisé dûment formé est autorisé à appareiller un pa
tient avec le produit. Il est entendu que ces professionnels sont familiarisés
à l’utilisation des diverses méthodes et différents matériaux, outils et ma
chines requis.

►N’effectuez pas de traitement thermique sur le titane.
►Avant de procéder au traitement thermique du produit, retirez-en tous
les composants sensibles à la chaleur (telsque les matières plas
