2 Beschreibung
2.1 Verwendungszweck
Der Ottobock MovolinoArm Friction 12K12 ist ausschließlich für die
exoprothetische Versorgung der oberen Extremität bei Kindern in Ver-
bindung mit Ottobock Komponenten zu verwenden.
2.2 Einsatzgebiet
Der Ottobock MovolinoArm Friction 12K12 darf ausschließlich für pas-
sive, kraftzuggesteuerte und myoelektrische Armprothesen bei Kindern
eingesetzt werden.
2.3 Sicherheitshinweise
Bitte geben Sie die nachfolgenden Sicherheitshinweise an Ihre Patienten
bzw. den Erziehungsberechtigten weiter:
VORSICHT
Verletzungsgefahr durch Überbeanspruchung. Die hier beschrie-
benen Ottobock Prothesenpassteile wurden für Alltagsaktivitäten ent-
wickelt und dürfen nicht für außergewöhnliche Tätigkeiten wie z. B. für
Extremsportarten (Freiklettern, Paragleiten etc.) eingesetzt werden.
Sorgfältige Behandlung der Passteile und ihrer Komponenten erhöht
nicht nur deren Lebenserwartung, sondern dient vor allem der Si-
cherheit des Patienten.

Sollten Passteile extremen Belastungen ausgesetzt worden sein (z. B.
durch Sturz), müssen diese umgehend von einem Orthopädietechniker
auf Schäden überprüft werden. Ansprechpartner ist der zuständige
Orthopädietechniker, der die Prothese ggf. an den Ottobock-Service
weiterleitet.
HINWEIS
Korrosionsgefahr. Prothesenpassteile dürfen nicht Umgebungen
ausgesetzt werden, die Korrosionen an den Metallteilen auslösen,
wie z. B. Süßwasser, Salzwasser und Säuren.
Bei Einsatz eines Medizinproduktes unter diesen Umgebungsbedin-
gungen erlöschen alle Ersatzansprüche gegen OttoBock HealthCare.
HINWEIS
Beschädigung durch falsche Umgebungsbedingungen. Pro-
thesenpassteile dürfen nicht intensivem Rauch, Staub, Vibrationen,
Stößen oder großer Hitze ausgesetzt werden. Es sollten weder feste
Teilchen noch Flüssigkeiten eindringen können. Nichtbeachtung kann
zu Fehlfunktionen und Beschädigungen der Prothese führen.
HINWEIS
Beschädigung durch falsche Reinigungsmittel. Die Verwendung
aggres siver Reinigungsmittel ist zu vermeiden. Diese können zu Be-
schädigungen von Lagern, Dichtungen und Kunststoffteilen führen.
Das Produkt darf nur mit einem feuchten Tuch und milder Seife ge-
reinigt werden.
2.4 Funktion
Der MovolinoArm Friction ist in einer Größe verfügbar. Das Ellbogen-
paßteil ist für rechts- und linksseitige Prothesen zu verwenden. Er ist
geeignet für Kinder im Alter von 3 – 5 Jahren.
Der MovolinoArm Friction hat jeweils eine Friktionseinstellung der hu-
meralen Rotation sowie der Flexion bzw. Extension des Unterarmes.
Die Extension / Flexion beginnt bei 0 – 5° Vorflexion. Der Unterarm kann

maximal 140° flektiert werden. Die Endanschläge der Flexion / Extension
sind dabei gedämpft. Die Friktion ist an der Justierschraube mit dem
im Lieferumfang enthaltenen Innensechskantschlüssel (Schlüsselweite
3mm) einstellbar. Die Einstellung sollte in maximaler Flexion (Abb. 1) bzw.
maximaler Extension des Unterarms (Abb. 2) erfolgen. Bitte beachten Sie
bei der Einstellung die individuellen Kräfte, Bewegungsmöglichkeiten
und Bedürfnisse des Kindes.
Die humerale Rotation ist auf einen Gesamtwinkel von 160° beschränkt.
Die Friktion lässt sich an der Justierschraube (Abb. 3) mit dem im Lie-
ferumfang enthaltenen Innensechskantschlüssel (Schlüsselweite 3mm)
einstellen. Bitte beachten Sie bei der Einstellung die individuellen Kräfte,
Bewegungsmöglichkeiten und Bedürfnisse des Kindes.

4 Handhabung
4.1 Montagevorbereitung
Für die Prothese mit dem 12K12 wird das Zweischaftverfahren mit
Aussen- und Innenschaft empfohlen. Beim Zweischaftverfahren wird
der Eingussring im Aussenschaft einlaminiert. Dies lässt eine einfache
Montage / Demontage des Ellbogenpassteils zu.
4.2 Montage
Bei einer unilateralen Versorgung sind für die Längenbestimmung der
Passteile das Daumenende und der Drehpunkt des Ellbogengelenkes
ausschlaggebend. Bei bilateraler Versorgung steht die Funktion der
Prothese im Vordergrund. Bei der Längenanpassung ist darauf zu ach-
ten, dass der Patient ein hohes Maß an Bewegungsfreiheit durch die
Prothese erhält.

Längenänderungen sind durch Kürzungen am Unterarm (siehe Tab.
Kap. 3) des Ellbogenpassteils und durch Veränderungen des Oberarm-
schaftes möglich.
Vor dem Einlaminieren muss der Eingussring vom Passteil getrennt wer-
den. Dazu wird die Schraube vom Ellbogenpassteil gelöst (Abb. 4 Pfeil)
und der Eingussring mit der Abdeckung und der Schraube abgezogen.
Die Abdeckung und die Schraube werden für das Einlaminieren nicht
benötigt und sind aus dem Eingussring zu entfernen.
Danach wird der Eingussring mit den beiden beiliegenden Laminierdum-
mys montiert (Abb.5). Zuerst den schwarzen Laminierdummy montieren.
Dies ermöglicht eine Kontrolle der Ausrichtung. Die Abbildung 6 zeigt
bewusst die falsche Einbauweise. Sollte der markierte Laminierdummy
nicht gleichmäßig über den Eingussring ragen, kann dieser durch Drehung
des Dummys (siehe Pfeile Abb. 6) ausgerichtet werden. Ein hörbares
Einrasten des Laminierdummys gibt eine akustische Rückmeldung über
die richtige Stellung. Anhand der Kennzeichnung ist eine Ausrichtung
des Eingussringes bei der Herstellung des Aussenschaftes möglich. Die
Dummykennzeichnung A steht für Anterior und die Kennzeichnung P für
Posterior. Die Ausrichtung des Eingussringes ist für die physiologisch
optimale Einstellung der humeralen Rotation des Ellbogenpassteiles
ausschlaggebend. Anschließend den weißen Laminierdummy montie-
ren. Dazu muss dieser fest in den Eingussring gedrückt werden, bis
eine Vertiefung entsteht. Diese Vertiefung erzeugt die kraftschlüssige
Abdichtung des Eingussrings.
Bei der Ausrichtung des MovolinoArm Friction für die humerale Rotation
ist auf einen größtmöglichen Nutzen der Prothese für den Anwender zu
achten. Ein größerer Anteil der Innenrotation für körpernahe Tätigkeiten
gegenüber der Außenrotation ist sinnvoll.
Bei der Herstellung des Oberarmschaftes muss auf eine möglichst zir-
kuläre schlanke Fertigung geachtet werden, um den maximal möglichen
Flexionswinkel zu erreichen.
Der beiliegende O-Ring wird nach dem Laminieren über das noch weiche
Laminat unterhalb des Dummys angebracht. Dieser erzeugt einen guten
Übergang des Laminierharzes zum Eingussring (Abb. 8).
Nach dem Aushärten des Laminats sind die Laminierdummys vom
Eingussring zu demontieren. Der MovolinoArm Friction 12K12 kann
montiert werden.

HINWEIS
Keine Demontage von Unterarm und Ellbogenkugel:
Der Unterarm und die Ellbogenkugel sind mit einem Kabel untrennbar
verbunden. Eine Demontage des Unterarms ist nicht möglich!
4.3 Einstellungen und Endmontage
4.3.1 Myoelektrische Prothesen
Zum Einbau der myoelektrischen Komponenten in den Unterarm muss
die Montageklappe vom Unterarm entfernt werden. Dazu wird die
Schraube mit einem Torx-Schraubendreher 710Y12=T10gelöst. Nach
dem vorsichtigen Anheben der Montageplatte, kann diese in Richtung
der Ellbogenkugel abgenommen werden (Abb. 9).
Es wird folgender Ablauf zum Einbau der myoelektrischen Komponenten
vorgeschlagen:
Einbau MyoEnergy Intergral 757B35=1
Zum Einbau der Ladebuchse des MyoEnergy Integral 757B35=1 ist
innen im Unterarmpassteil die Kontur der Ladebuchse vertieft. Diese
Kontur ist frei zu schleifen. Dazu können die als Führung vorgesehenen
Vertiefungen für das Ausbohren mit einem Spiralbohrer 8mm (5 / 16")
genutzt werden. Die Ladebuchse kann nun innerhalb der Armbeuge nach
Anweisung befestigt werden. Das Flachbandkabel vom Akkumulator zur
Ladebuchse nicht knicken (Abb. 11)!
Zum Einkleben des Eingussrings 11D12=34 ist der Unterarmschaft innen
mit Aceton 634A3 zu reinigen. Vor dem Einkleben Aceton ablüften las-
sen. Als Klebstoff ist Siegelharz-Kompaktkleber 636K18 zu verwenden.
Nach Aushärten der Verklebung des Eingussrings 11D12=* die Kontakt -
platte des 7in1 Controllers 9E420 montieren. Kontaktplatte fest in den
Eingussring eindrücken.
Einbau der Elektrokabel in den Unterarm
Die Kabel der Elektroden werden im proximalen Bereich des Ellbogen-
gelenks angeschlossen (Abb. 12). Die Elektrodensignale werden zum
Unterarmschaft übertragen. Platine aus dem Unterarm heben (Abb.10).
Das Elektrodenkabel 13E129=G100/G300 in die Platine einstecken. Da-

bei die Kennzeichnung der Kontakte beachten. Platine vorsichtig wieder
zurück in die Ausgangsposition in den Unterarm einsetzen.
Dieses Elektrodenkabel leitet die Elektrodensignale an den 7-in-1 Con-
troller 9E420=* weiter.
Alle Kabel nach Vorgabe des 7in1 Controllers 9E420 anschließen.
Montagedeckel vorsichtig einsetzen und montieren. Auf die Kabelführung
achten. Kein Kabel darf geknickt bzw. gequetscht werden.
Zur Montage des Ellbogenpassteils die Elektrodenkabel durch den Aus-
senschaft des Oberarms und die Steckerfreimachung der Abdeckung
ziehen. Danach werden die Abdeckung und die Senkschraube (Abb. 4)
montiert. Dabei werden beide Teile durch den Innenbereich des Aussen-
schaftes geführt und mit dem Unterteil des Ellbogenpassteiles verbunden.
Die Senkschraube ist mit einem Drehmoment von 5 Nm anzuschrauben.
HINWEIS
Beschädigung durch falsche Handhabung:
Während des Ladevorgangs und bei der Verwendung des MyolinoLink
60X6 darf der MovolinoArm Friction 12K12 nicht flektiert werden.
4.3.2 Passive Prothesen
Bei Anfertigung einer passiven Prothese wird der Holzadapter 10A40
verwendet. Dieser muss auf einen Durchmesser von 34mm reduziert
werden. Der Unterarmschaft ist innen mit Aceton 634A3 zu reinigen.
Vor dem Einkleben Aceton ablüften lassen. Der Holzadapter wird mit
Siegelharz-Kompaktkleber 636K18 in den Unterarm eingeklebt.
Grundsätzlich sollte der Aufbau der Hand in Neutral-Null-Stellung er -
folgen. Jedoch sind in jedem Fall die individuellen Gegebenheiten und
Bedürfnisse des Patienten zu berücksichtigen.
4.3.3 Eigenkraftgesteuerte Prothesen
Bei einer eigenkraftgesteuerten Prothese wird das Handgelenk 10V18=34
oder 10V36=34 verwendet. Nach Trennung vom Handgelenk wird der
Eingussring in den auf der Innenseite mit Aceton 643A3gereinigten
Unterarm mit Siegelharz-Kompaktkleber 636K18 eingeklebt.
Bei einer mechanischen Prothese (Kap. 4.3.2 bis 4.3.3) werden die

Abdeckung und die Senkschraube montiert. Dabei werden beide Teile
durch den Innenbereich des Aussenschafts geführt und mit dem Unter-
teil des Ellbogenpassteiles verbunden. Die Senkschraube ist mit einem
Drehmoment von 5 Nm anzuschrauben.
5 Entsorgung
Das Produkt darf nicht überall mit unsortiertem Hausmüll entsorgt werden.
Eine unsachgemäße Entsorgung kann sich schädlich auf die Umwelt und
die Gesundheit auswirken. Beachten Sie die Angaben der zuständigen
Behörde Ihres Landes zu Rückgabe, Sammel- und Entsorgungsverfahren.
6 Rechtliche Hinweise

des Verwenderlandes und können dementsprechend variieren.

2 Description
2.1 Indications for use
The Ottobock MovolinoArm Friction 12K12 may only be used for the
exoprosthetic fitting of the upper extremities in children in combination
with Ottobock components.
2.2 Field of application
The Ottobock MovolinoArm Friction 12K12 may only be used for passive,
cable-controlled and myoelectrically controlled arm prostheses for children.
2.3 Safety instructions
Please make your patients and their parents / guardiansaware of the
following safety instructions:
CAUTION
Risk of injury as a result of excessive strain. The Ottobock pros-
thetic components described here have been developed for activities
of daily living and must not be used for unusual activities such as
extreme sports (free climbing, paragliding etc.).
Careful handling of the prosthesis and its components not only in-
creases their service life but, above all, ensures the patient's safety.
Should prosthetic components be subjected to unusual stresses (such
as a fall), immediately contact your prosthetist and have the components
inspected for any damage. If necessary, the responsible prosthetist
will pass the prosthesis on to the Ottobock Service.

Risk of corrosion. Prosthetic components must not be exposed to
corrosive elements such as fresh water, salt water and acids.
Using this medical device in such environmental conditions will render
all claims against OttoBock HealthCare null and void.

Prosthetic components must not be subjected to intense smoke, dust,
vibrations, shocks or high temperatures. Do not allow debris or liquids
to get into the prosthesis and its components. Failure to follow these

aggressive cleaning agents must be avoided. They may cause damage
to bearings, seals and plastic parts. The product may only be cleaned
with a damp cloth and mild soap.
2.4 Function
The MovolinoArm Friction is available in one size. The elbow compo-
nent can be used for both right and left-side fittings. It is suitable for
children ages 3-5.
The MovolinoArm Friction has one friction settingfor humeral rotation
and one for flexion / extension of the forearm.
Extension / flexion starts at 0 – 5° pre-flexion. The forearm can be flexed by
a maximum of 140°. The terminal flexion / extension stops are dampened.
The friction can be adjusted via the adjustment screw using the Allen
key (wrench size 3mm) included in the scope of delivery. Adjustment
should be performed at maximum flexion (fig. 1) or maximum extension
(fig. 2) of the forearm. During adjustment, please consider the individual
strengths, moving abilities and needs of the child.
Humeral rotation is limited to a total angle of 160°. The friction can be
adjusted via the adjustment screw (fig. 3) using the Allen key (wrench

4 Handling
4.1 Installation preparation
The two-socket procedure with outer and inner sockets is recommended
for fittings using the12K12. During the two-socket procedure, the lami-
nation ring is laminated into the outer socket. This allows for easy as-
sembly / disassembly of the elbow component.
4.2 Assembly
For a unilateral fitting, the end of the thumb and the pivot point of the
elbow joint are relevant to determine the length of the components. In
case of bilateral fittings, priority is given to the prosthesis‘ functionality.
When adapting the length, make sure that the prosthesis will offer the
patient a high degree of freedom of movement.
Changes in length can be realized by shortening the elbow joint on the
forearm side (see table chapter 3) and by changing the upper arm socket.
The lamination ring must be separated from the component before lami-
nation. The screw is removed from the elbow joint (fig. 4 arrow) and the
lamination ring with the cover and screw is pulled off. The cover and
screw are not required for lamination and must be removed from the
lamination ring.
Then assemble the lamination ring using the two lamination dummies

included in the kit (fig. 5). Assemble the black lamination dummy first.
This ensures proper orientation. Figure 6 intentionally illustrates incorrect
installation. If the marked lamination dummy does not protrude evenly
above the lamination ring, then it can be aligned by turning the dummy
(fig. 6 arrows). The lamination dummy locks into place audibly, provid-
ing acoustic feedback of the correct position. The markings allow for
correct alignment of the lamination ring when the outer socket is made.
Dummy marking A indicates the Anterior side, marking P indicates the
Posterior side. Proper alignment of the lamination ring is essential for
the physiologically optimal adjustment of the humeral rotation of the el-
bow joint. Subsequently, assemble the white lamination dummy. To do
this, the dummy is to be pressed into the lamination ring until a recess
develops.This recess constitutes the force-fit seal of the lamination ring.
When orienting the MovolinoArm Friction for humeral rotation, maximum
benefit of the prosthesis for the user ought to be provided. For close-to-
body activities it is advisable to allow more internal rotation in proportion
to external rotation.
Care must be taken to ensure that the upper arm socket is fabricated
to be as circular and slender as possible in order to attain the maximum
possible flexion angle.
The included o-ring is installed over the still-soft laminate below the
dummy after lamination. It provides for a good transition between the
lamination resin and the lamination ring (fig. 8).
After the lamination has hardened, the lamination dummies are removed
from the lamination ring. Then the MovolinoArm Friction 12K12 can be
mounted.
NOTICE
No disassembly of the forearm and elbow ball:
The forearm and the elbow ball are connected by a cable and insepa-
rable. Disassembly of the forearm is not possible!
4.3 Adjustments and nal assembly
4.3.1 Myoelectric prosthetic tting
To install the myoelectrical components in the forearm, the assembly cover
must be removed from the forearm. To do so, loosen the screw using the

Torx screwdriver 710Y12=T10. After carefully lifting the assembly cover,
it can be removed in the direction of the elbow ball (fig. 9 ).
The following procedure is recommended for installation of the myoe-
lectrical components.
Installation of MyoEnergy Intergral 757B35=1
The charging receptacle contour inside the forearm component is recessed
to allow for installation of the MyoEnergy Integral charging receptacle.
This contours must be ground free. The recesses which are intended
as guides for drilling can be utilized with an 8mm (5 / 16") twist drill.
Then the charging receptacle can be mounted inside the crook of the
arm according to instructions. Do not bend the flat ribbon cable which
runs from the battery to the charging receptacle (fig. 11)!
Roughen the inside of the forearm socket with 634A3 acetone in order
to glue the lamination ring 11D12=34. Allow the acetone to evaporate
prior to gluing. Use 636K18 Sealing Resin Compact Glue.
After the lamination ring 11D12=* bonding has hardened, install the
7in1 Controller 9E420 contact plate. Press the contact plate firmly into
the lamination ring.
Installation of the electric cables in the forearm.
The electrode cables are connected in the proximal section of the elbow
joint (fig. 12). The electrode signals are transmitted to the forearm socket.
Lift the circuit board out of the forearm (fig.10). Plug the 13E129=G100/
G300 electrode cable into the circuit board while observing the contact
markings. Carefully reinsert the circuit board in its initial position into
the forearm.
This electrode cable transmits the electrode signals to the 9E420=*
7-in-1 Controller.
Connect all cables to the 7in1 Controller 9E420 as specified.
Insert the assembly cover carefully and install. Make sure the cables are
placed properly. Cables may not be kinked or pinched.
To assemble the elbow component, pull the electrode cables through the
outer socket of the upper arm and the plug hole in the cover. Then the
cover and the countersunk head screw (fig. 4) are mounted. Both parts
are routed through the inner part of the outer socket and connected to
the lower part of the elbow component. The countersunk head screw
must be tightened with a torque of 5 Nm.

and use of the MyolinoLink 60X6.
4.3.2 Passive Prosthetic Fittings
The 10A40 wooden adapter is used in the fabrication of a passive pros-
thesis. The adapter is to be milled down to a diameter of 34mm. Roughen
the inside of the forearm socket with 634A3 acetone. Allow the acetone
to evaporate prior to gluing the wooden adapter into the forearm with
634K18 Sealing Resin Compact Adhesive.
Alignment of the hand should always be performed in the neutral-zero
position. However, the individual conditions and needs of the patients
must be considered in all cases.
4.3.3 Body-Powered Prosthetic Fitting
For a body-powered prosthetic fitting, 10V18=34 or 10V36=34 Wrist
Unit is being used. After separating the wrist unit, the lamination ring is
glued into the roughened inside of the forearm using 636K18 Sealing
Resin Compact Adhesive.
After performing the prosthetic fitting (chapter 4.3.2 to 4.3.3), the cover
and the countersunk head screw (fig. 12) are mounted. Both parts are
routed through the inside of the outer socket and connected to the lower
part of the elbow component. The countersunk head screw is tightened
with a torque of 5 Nm.
5 Disposal
In some jurisdictions it is not permissible to dispose of the product
with unsorted household waste. Improper disposal can be harmful to
