A. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS - LC®SPRINT
CAUTION
US Federal Law restricts this device to sale by or on the order
of a physician. Use only when prescribed by a physician and
with the prescribed medication.
The LC®Sprint is a handheld nebulizer, designed to aerosolize
medication approved for nebulization and prescribed by a
physician. The LC®Sprint is intended for adult and pediatric
patients consistent with the indications for the aerosol
medication. Improper use can result in serious or fatal illness
or injury. Nebulizer is not sterile.
WARNING
Use only when prescribed by a physician and with the
prescribed medication. In order to achieve the specified
droplet characteristics the compressor or central air supply
must provide 3.5 - 8 lpm at a minimum of 20psi.
WARNING
1. To reduce the risk of increased bacterial growth,
infection, illness, or injury from contamination:
thoroughly clean and dry all parts of the nebulizer and
thoroughly dry any moisture or condensation in the
tubing at the end of every treatment following the
enclosed instructions.
2. Cleaning the nebulizer after each treatment is not
enough---you must regularly disinfect or sterilize the
nebulizer between treatments to prevent serious or
fatal illness caused by contamination of the nebulizer.
3. Never use a nebulizer with a clogged nozzle. If the
nozzle is clogged, the aerosol mist will be reduced,
altered or stopped, which will diminish or eliminate
the effectiveness of the treatment. If clogging occurs,
replace with the same model PARI Reusable Nebulizer.
4. Close supervision is necessary when this product is
used by or near children and physically or mentally
impaired. Never use when sleeping or drowsy.
5. This product contains small parts that may present
a choking hazard to small children. The tubing also
presents a strangulation hazard. ALWAYS USE CLOSE
ADULT SUPERVISION WHEN ADMINISTERING A
TREATMENT TO A CHILD. DO NOT LEAVE CHILD
UNATTENDED DURING TREATMENT.
6. Patients under the age of 4 or any patients who have
special needs should use a facemask instead of the
valved mouthpiece.
7. Before use, check PARI Reusable Nebulizer for proper
assembly. All parts should be seated firmly in place.
Use of an improperly assembled nebulizer could
diminish or prevent adequate delivery of medication
and the effectiveness of the treatment.

adult and pediatric patients consistent with the indications
for the aerosol medication.

INDICATIONS FOR USE: PARI TREK® S PORTABLE AEROSOL SYSTEM
The PARI Trek®S nebulizer compressor is a portable, DC powered air compressor intended to provide a source of
compressed air for use with jet nebulizers. The Trek®S is intended for adult and pediatric patients. The device is nonsterile,
prescription-use only, intended for use in hospital, clinic, or home environments.
WARNING
Use only with nebulizers and tubing authorized by PARI
for this device. Other nebulizers and tubing may result in
improper treatment.
When using electrical and medical products, especially when
children are present, basic safety precautions must
be followed.
DANGER
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury from electrocution:
1. Do not place or store the product where it can fall or be
knocked into bathtub, sink, water, or other liquid. Do not
place or drop into water or other liquid. Do not use while
bathing.
2. Do not reach for a product that has fallen into water or
other liquid. Unplug immediately.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury from electrocution,
fire or burns and to reduce the risk of damage and malfunction
to the product:
1. Before use, check the serial number label on the bottom
of the compressor, battery and on the Multi-Voltage
AC Adapter to ensure that the voltage and current
indicated on the unit correspond with the voltage and
current available.
2. Never operate this product if it has a damaged cord or
plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped
or damaged, or if it has been exposed to any liquids inside
the case. Return the product to PARI for examination
and repair.
3. Keep all electrical cords away from heated surfaces. Do
not overload wall outlets or use extension cords.
4. Do not operate where oxygen is being administered in a
closed environment such as an oxygen tent.
5. Never drop or insert any object into any openings.
6. Be sure the PARI TREK®S compressor and the Multi-
Voltage AC Adapter are unplugged prior to cleaning.
7. Do not open or disassemble the PARI TREK®S
Compressor. Refer all servicing to an authorized PARI
Service Center.
8. Use only adapters that are authorized for the PARI TREK®
S Compressor. Use of unapproved accessories can lead
to improper treatment or damage to the compressor,
adapters, or the battery.
9. Never spray liquids onto the compressor housing or
battery. Fluid could cause damage to the electrical and
compressor parts and could lead to a malfunction. In the
event that fluids enter the unit, return the product to
an authorized PARI Service Center for examination and
repair.
WARNING
10. Always unplug immediately after using.
11. Do not use the PARI TREK® S Compressor or the PARI
Reusable Nebulizer while operating a vehicle.
12. Portable and mobile RF communication devices can
disrupt electrical medical equipment. The electrical field
generated when the compressor is running can interfere
with screens and monitors (flickering). For this reason,
the compressor must be placed far enough away from
screens/monitors to prevent such interference. Technical
electromagnetic compatibility data is available in table
form upon request from PARI Respiratory Equipment
Inc./Patient Connection 1.800.FAST.NEB (327.8632),

BATTERY SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING
1. Use only the PARI TREK®S Rechargeable Battery
described in these Instructions For Use for operating your
PARI TREK®S Compressor.
2. Do not immerse the PARI TREK®S Rechargeable Battery
in water.
3. Do not touch the battery with wet or moist hands.
4. Do not expose battery to direct sunlight, humidity,
extreme temperatures or chemicals.
5. Make sure battery poles do not come into contact with
keys or other metal objects, causing a “short circuit”.
6. Do not attempt to open the plastic case or to replace any
components. Do not disassemble Rechargeable Battery.
The Rechargeable Battery is a sealed unit and can not
be repaired.
7. Do not incinerate (burn).
CAUTION
1. To charge the PARI TREK®S Rechargeable Battery use
only the PARI TREK®S Multi-Voltage AC Adapter or
optional 12 V DC Adapter. Using other adapters may
damage the battery.
2. In case of failure in charging or operating, unplug the
Rechargeable Battery from the Multi-Voltage AC Adapter
and turn the unit off. Should the Rechargeable Battery fail
to charge or operate properly, even if the Instructions For
Use are followed, notify the Authorized Service Center by
calling PARI Patient Connection toll free (USA) at 1.800.
FAST.NEB (327.8632), then press 2.
3. Protect the environment: when replacing the Rechargeable
Battery, recycle old battery or dispose of properly in
accordance with local laws.

COMPRESSOR SETUP
Make sure that power switch is turned to , the off
position.
With AC Adapter
1. Plug the AC adapter into a polarized wall outlet
(Fig.A).
2. Plug the other end of the power cord into the power
receptacle on the side of the compressor or optional
rechargeable battery (Fig.C).
With 12V DC Adapter
NOTE: DO NOT USE WHILE OPERATING A VEHICLE
1. Plug the 12V DC adapter into the vehicle outlet
(Fig.B).
2. Plug the other end of the adapter into the power
receptacle on the side of the compressor or optional
rechargeable battery (Fig.C).
With Optional Rechargeable Battery
The PARI Trek®S Li-Ion rechargeable battery is available
as an option to help maximize your freedom with portable
treatments. Speak with your physician and homecare
company about your daily schedule’s needs and if a
rechargeable battery is a good fit for you.
1. Completely charge the battery for the first time before use.
Refer to the “Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery” section on
page 5.
2. The rechargeable battery cannot be connected
directly to the PARI Trek®S if either the AC adapter
or 12V DC adapter are plugged into the power
receptacle (Fig.D).
3. Attach the rechargeable battery to the PARI Trek®
S by placing the battery onto the rear section of the
compressor and sliding it into place. Ensure battery
is securely locked onto the compressor prior to
operation (Fig.D).
4. Use the indicator lights to determine status of the
battery. Refer to “Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery” section
on page 5.
When the battery is completely discharged all indicator
lights will extinguish and the compressor will shut off.
NOTE: If battery fails to operate, connect the AC adapter into
the wall outlet. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into the
charge receptacle on the side of the rechargeable battery.The
charge indicator should turn “ON” indicating that the battery
has re-set and is now charging. If the charge indicator does
not appear, or if all four indicators are blinking, the battery
has failed and should not be used. Please contact PARI Patient
Connection at 1.800.FAST.NEB (327.8632)
5. To remove the battery, push and hold the release
button located on the underside of the battery. Slide
the battery away from the compressor (Fig.E).

LI-ION RECHARGEABLE BATTERY CHARGING
Charging
Refer to the below diagram.
1. Completely charge the battery before using for the
first time for more than two hours or until all three
battery level indicators are lit, and the charge indicator
turns off.
2. To charge the battery, connect the AC adapter
into a polarized wall outlet (Fig A). Plug the other
end of the AC adapter into the rechargeable battery
charge receptacle (Fig C). The charge indicator will
turn “ON”.
3. When the rechargeable battery is fully charged, the
charge indicator will turn “OFF”. Unplug the multi-
voltage AC adapter from the rechargeable battery
charge receptacle. The amount of time it takes to
recharge the battery will depend on the age and charge
level of the battery.

NOTE: Do not leave the multi-voltage AC Adapter plugged into
the rechargeable battery for more than 7 days. Leaving the
batter connected to the power adapter for long periods of time
may decrease the life of the battery.
4. When not regularly using the battery, the battery
should be fully charged every six months to optimize
and preserve the life of the rechargeable battery.
NOTE: If the battery goes for a long period of time without
charging, battery life will be decreased.
Storing
The battery should be stored fully charged in a cool dry
place.

You are 10 Steps away from starting your treatment with
Trek®S. Please follow step by step.
1. Clean/Disinfect Nebulizer Cup: Refer to Sections F & G
to properly clean and/or disinfect your nebulizer prior
to first use. Re-assemble nebulizer.
2. Set-up Compressor: Place the compressor on a
flat, stable surface free of dust. Avoid cushioned,
upholstered or carpeted surfaces. Make sure power
switch is turned to , the “OFF” position. Activate
and attach the Timestrip®label to the front of the
Trek®S Compressor as explained in Section E.
3. ConnectTubing To Compressor: Insert one end of
Wing Tip™ tubing to the air outlet on the compressor.
It should fit snugly (Fig. F).
4. Load Medication: Open the inspiratory valve cap of
nebulizer by lifting the cap (Fig. G). Pour medication
into nebulizer cup. Never fill past the max. fill line of
8 ml.
5. Attach Mouthpiece or Mask: If using the mouthpiece,
attach the mouthpiece to the nebulizer outlet with the
expiratory valve facing up. Then close the inspiratory
valve cap by pressing firmly on the nebulizer top. If
using a mask, refer to the mask instructions for use.
6. Attach TubingTo Nebulizer Cup: Firmly press the other
end of the Wing Tip™ tubing to bottom of PARI
reusable nebulizer (Fig. H).
7. Starting Treatment: Sit in a relaxed, upright position and
turn the compressor “ON” .
8. Nebulizer Position: Place the mouthpiece on top of
tongue and close lips around it. Take slow, deep
breaths. As you inhale, the inhalation valve opens.
9. Breathing: For mouthpiece, inhale and exhale slowly
through your mouth. As you exhale, the valve on
the mouthpiece opens to allow the exhaled mist to
escape. For mask, place mask over nose and mouth
and inhale and exhale slowly.
10. CompleteTreatment: Continue until the medication is
gone or you hear a slight “sputtering” sound. Turn
compressor “OFF” .
NOTE: The PARI TREK®S Compressor is protected by a
thermal switch. If the PARI TREK®S Compressor has reached
its temperature limit it will automatically turn off to prevent
damage to the PARI TREK®S Compressor. In the unlikely
event this occurs, the PARI TREK®S Compressor may need
approximately 30 minutes to cool down prior to resuming the
treatment . Switch off the PARITREK®S Compressor and let it
cool down before restarting . If the PARI TREK®S Compressor
does not start after it is switched on after cooling for 30
minutes, please allow another few minutes for the compressor
to cool and try again. If you need to use the PARI Trek®S for
longer than 30 minutes, please contact PARI at 1.800.FAST.

F. CLEANINGYOUR PARI
REUSABLE NEBULIZER
1. Disconnect the tubing from the air intake on the
bottom of the nebulizer cup.
2. If there is any moisture (condensation) in the tubing,
let the compressor run with only the tubing attached
for 2-3 minutes. The warm air from the compressor
will dry out the tubing. Alternatively, you can dry
the tubing by removing it from the compressor and
hanging it up with the “ends down” to allow any
moisture (condensation) to drain out and evaporate.
Use a clean damp cloth to wipe the exterior of
the tubing.
3. Disassemble reusable nebulizer parts as illustrated
on page 3.
4. Wash all parts with warm water and liquid dish soap.
DO NOT WASH THE TUBING.
5. Rinse the reusable nebulizer parts thoroughly with
warm water and shake out water.
6. Air dry or hand dry nebulizer parts on a clean, lint-free
cloth. Reassemble nebulizer when parts are dry
and store.
7. You can also wash all parts of the reusable nebulizer
on the top shelf of a dishwasher. DO NOT WASH
TUBING. Place the reusable nebulizer parts in a
dishwasher basket, then place the basket on the top
rack of the dishwasher. Remove and dry the parts
when the dishwasher cycle is complete.
WARNING
TO REDUCE RISK OF INFECTION:
1. Nebulizer for single patient use (one person) only. Do
not share your nebulizer with other patients.
2. You must regularly disinfect or sterilize the nebulizer
between treatments. Failure to do so could lead to
serious or fatal illness.

A NOTE ON TREATMENT TIME
Please note that many factors affect treatment time,
such as a patient’s age, condition, breathing pattern,
and medication. The PARI Trek® S was designed for
intermittent use to deliver respiratory medications,
not continuous use for humidification or prolonged
treatments (for example, over 30 minutes at one time).
It is possible that with prolonged treatments the tubing
may get warm and disconnect from the PARI Trek® S air
outlet. If your physician prescribed consecutive (back to
back) treatments, resulting in the use of your PARI Trek®
S for longer than 30 minutes, please contact PARI Patient
Connection at 1.800.FAST.NEB (327.8632).
E. TIMESTRIP®
It is very important to replace your PARI reusable nebulizer
every 6 months for the most effective treatments.
Timestrip®is a visual indicator that makes it easy for you to
remember when to replace your nebulizer.
ActivatingTimestrip®:Firmly squeeze the PARI bubble
between your finger and thumb. You may need to squeeze
it more than once to ensure all the liquid has been emptied
from the bubble.
Verify Activation: A red line will appear in the small circle of
the Timestrip®within 1 to 2 minutes, indicating activation.
If you do not see the red line after 3 minutes, press the
bubble again.
Attach to compressor: Remove the adhesive tab on the back
of the Timestrip®and attach the Timestrip®to the front
of your compressor. IMPORTANT – DO NOT ATTACH
Timestrip®to your NEBULIZER CUP.
Replace Nebulizer: When you see the word NOW appear
in the window (Fig. I), you know it’s time for a new PARI
reusable nebulizer! Contact your home healthcare provider
or pharmacy to order your new PARI reusable nebulizer.
WARNING
The Timestrip®may present a choking hazard to small
children – adult supervision is required.

Timestrip®does not monitor the condition of the PARI reusable nebulizer.Timestrip®only records the passage of time after it is activated. If activated at the time of first using the PARI
reusable nebulizer then it will serve as a reminder that the PARI reusable nebulizer can be replaced.
The liquid inside theTimestrip®is not toxic. If tampered with, theTimestrip®may leak and will not function properly. If the liquid comes into contact with the skin wash with soap and
water. If the liquid comes into contact with eyes rinse immediately with water for 15 minutes. If irritation develops, seek medical attention.

G. DISINFECTINGYOUR PARI
REUSABLE NEBULIZER
1. Clean the nebulizer as described in Section F . For low-
level disinfection every other treatment day, soak all
parts of the PARI Reusable Nebulizer (except tubing)
in a solution of 1 part distilled white vinegar and 3
parts hot tap water for 1 hour. You can substitute
respiratory equipment disinfectant (like Control III®)
for distilled white vinegar (follow manufacturer’s
instructions for mixing).
2. Rinse all parts of the PARI Reusable Nebulizer
thoroughly with warm tap water and dry with a clean,
lint-free cloth. Discard the vinegar solution when
disinfection is complete.
3. The PARI Reusable Nebulizer parts (except tubing)
may also be disinfected by boiling them in a clean pot
of water for a full 10 minutes.
4. Hospitals and clinics can sterilize the PARI Reusable
Nebulizer parts (except tubing) by autoclaving (a
maximum of 277° F or 136° C), follow autoclave
manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Dry parts on a clean, lint-free cloth.

H. MAINTENANCE OFYOUR
TREK® SNEBULIZER SYSTEM
FILTER
Your Trek® S air filter is bright white when new. With
use, the filter will slowly turn grey, indicating the need for
replacement. The filter must be replaced immediately if it
gets wet or becomes clogged. A good rule to follow is to
replace your filter every 6 months – at the same time as
your PARI reusable nebulizer .
Removing: First make sure the Trek® S power switch is
turned off. Using a coin, remove the air filter cover by
turning it counter-clockwise. Pull the cap and filter out,
then remove the filter from the cap (Fig. J-K). Take a new
filter and press into cap with the open end visible (Fig K-L).
Place the cap and filter back into the front of your Trek® S.
Use the coin to tighten by turning the cover clockwise.
NOTE: Do not attempt to wash and reuse Air Filters. Do not
use substitute lter material; compressor damage may result.
COMPRESSOR & RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the
compressor housing. Be careful not to get liquids onto the
Power Receptacle or the battery contact since damage
could occur.
MAINTENANCE & REPAIR
Never operate your PARI Trek®S if it is improperly or
incompletely assembled or damaged. Use only original
PARI parts and attachments authorized by PARI for the
PARI Trek®S Compact Compressor System. Use of other
parts and attachments may damage the unit or cause
improper treatment. Do not open or disassemble the
compressor unit at any time.
NOTE: There are no serviceable parts inside the PARI Trek® S
Compact Compressor System. Service by anyone voids warranty.

Please be sure to clean and disinfect your PARI reusable nebulizer and place it in a plastic bag before returning.
PARI TREK® S COMPACT COMPRESSOR SYSTEM LIMITEDWARRANTY
PARI offers a standard three (3) year warranty on the PARI TREK®S Compressor and six (6) months on accessories. The
warranty period will be printed on the serial number label located on the bottom of the compressor. PARI warrants that
the PARI TREK®S Compressor and its parts will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of thirty-
six (36) months from the date of first retail purchase of the compressor and six (6) months on the PARI Reusable Nebulizer
and Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery. This warranty does not cover failures of the tubing or accessories. This warranty does not
extend to failures resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, alteration, use of unauthorized service; parts or cleaning solutions,
or failure to comply with Instructions For Use. If the warranted equipment should fail during the warranty period, PARI will
replace the equipment or parts at issue, provided the claim is bona fide. It shall be the responsibility of the purchaser to
pack and return the equipment in a manner to avoid shipping damage. The shipment must be prepaid to PARI Respiratory

A. MESURES DE SÉCURITÉ –
PARI LCMD SPRINT
MISE EN GARDE
Selon la loi fédérale américaine, cet appareil ne peut être vendu
que par un médecin ou sur son ordonnance. Ne l’utiliser que
lorsqu’il est prescrit par un médecin et qu’avec les médicaments
prescrits.
Le modèle LCMD Sprint est un nébuliseur à main, conçu afin
d’aérosoliser les médicaments approuvés pour l’aérosolisation et
prescrits par un médecin. Le modèle LCMD Sprint se destine aux
patients adultes et pédiatriques dont le traitement indiqué est un
médicament en aérosol. L’utilisation inadéquate peut causer des
blessures ou maladies graves ou mortelles. Le nébuliseur n’est
pas stérile.
AVERTISSEMENT
Ne l’utiliser que lorsqu’il est prescrit par un médecin et qu’avec
les médicaments prescrits. Afin d’obtenir les caractéristiques de
goutelettes spécifiées, le compresseur ou l’alimentation en air
centrale doit fournir 3,5 à 8 lpm à une pression minimale de 20 psi.
AVERTISSEMENT
1. Pour réduire le risque de prolifération bactérienne,
d’infection, de lésion ou d’affection par contamination :
nettoyer et sécher soigneusement les différentes parties du
nébuliseur et prendre soin d’essuyer toute trace d’humidité
ou de condensation dans le tube après chaque traitement,
conformément aux instructions ci-dessous.
2. Il ne suffit pas de nettoyer le nébuliseur après chaque
utilisation; il faut désinfecter ou stériliser régulièrement le
nébuliseur entre les traitements pour prévenir les affections
graves ou mortelles qui peuvent être causées par la
contamination du nébuliseur.
3. Ne jamais utiliser le nébuliseur si la buse est bouchée. En effet,
la nébulisation par aérosol sera réduite, altérée ou obstruée ce
qui réduira l’efficacité du traitement ou le rendra totalement
inefficace. Dans ce cas, remplacer l’appareil par le même modèle
de nébuliseur réutilisable PARI.
4. Une surveillance particulière est nécessaire lorsque ce produit est
utilisé par ou à proximité d’enfants ou de personnes présentant
une déficience physique ou intellectuelle. Le patient ne doit pas
être endormi ou assoupi.
5. Ce produit contient des pièces de petite taille qui peuvent
présenter un risque de suffocation pour les jeunes enfants.
Le tube présente également un risque d’étranglement. LE
TRAITEMENT D’UN ENFANT DOIT TOU JOURS AVOIR
LIEU SOUS LA SURVEILLANCE D’UN ADULTE. NE PAS
LAISSER UN ENFANT SANS SURVEILLANCE PENDANT
L’ADMINISTRATION DU TRAITEMENT.
6. Les patients âgés de moins de 4 ans ou ayant des besoins
spéciaux doivent utiliser un masque au lieu de l’embouchure.
7. Avant son utilisation, vérifier que le nébuliseur réutilisable PARI est
correctement assemblé. Les différentes pièces doivent être bien
mises en place. Un mauvais assemblage du nébuliseur peut gêner
ou empêcher complètement la nébulisation du médicament et
réduire l’efficacité du traitement.
INDICATIONS D’EMPLOI: LCMD SPRINT
Le modèle LCMD Sprint est un nébuliseur à main, conçu
afin d’aérosoliser les médicaments approuvés pour
l’aérosolisation et prescrits par un médecin. Le modèle
LCMD Sprint se destine aux patie nts adultes et pédiatriques
dont le traitement indiqué est un médicament en aérosol.

INDICATIONS D’EMPLOI : PARI TREKMD S PORTABLE AEROSOL SYSTEM
Le compresseur du nébuliseur PARI TrekMD S est un compresseur d’air portatif à alimentation continue qui permet de
fournir une source d’air comprimé aux nébuliseurs à jet. Le TrekMD S se destine aux patients adultes et pédiatriques. Cet
appareil n’est pas stérile, doit faire l’objet d’une ordonnance et peut être utilisé à l’hôpital, en clinique ou à la maison.
AVERTISSEMENT
N’utiliser cet appareil qu’avec les nébuliseurs et les tubes autorisés
par PARI. D’autres nébuliseurs et tubes risquent de compromettre
le traitement.
Respecter les mesures de sécurité de base lors de l’utilisation de
produits électriques et médicaux, particulièrement en présence
d’enfants.
DANGER
Pour réduire les risques de blessure grave ou mortelle des suites
d’une électrocution :
1. Éviter de placer ou d’entreposer le produit à un endroit où
il pourrait être accroché ou tomber dans un baignoire, un
évier, de l’eau ou tout autre liquide. Ne pas placer l’appareil
ou l’échapper dans l’eau ou tout autre liquide. Ne pas l’utiliser
pendant un bain.
2. Ne pas tenter de saisir un appareil tombé dans l’eau ou tout
autre liquide. Il faut le débrancher immédiatement.
AVERTISSEMENT
Pour réduire les risques de blessure grave ou mortelle des suites
d’une électrocution, d’un incendie et de brûlures, ainsi que
les risques d’endommagement ou de dysfonctionnement de
l’appareil :
1. Avant l’utilisation, vérifier l’étiquette du numéro de série au
bas du compresseur, de la batterie et de l’adaptateur CA
multi-tension pour s’assurer que la tension et le courant
indiqués sur l’appareil correspondent à la tension et au
courant disponibles.
2. Ne jamais utiliser l’appareil dans les situations suivantes la
prise d’alimentation ou le cordon est endommagé, l’appareil
ne fonctionne pas correctement, l’appareil a été échappé
ou est endommagé, du liquide s’est infiltré dans le boîtier.
Retourner tout appareil défectueux à un centre de service
PARI agréé pour qu’il soit évalué, réparé ou remplacé.
3. Éloigner tous les cordons électriques des surfaces chauffées.
Éviter de surcharger les prises murales ou d’employer des
rallonges électriques.
4. Ne pas utiliser l’appareil dans un environnement fermé où de
l’oxygène est administré, tel qu’une tente à oxygène.
5. Ne jamais échapper ou insérer des objets dans les ouvertures.
6. S ’assurer que le compresseur PARI TREKMD S et l’adaptateur CA
multi-tension sont débranchés avant de procéder au nettoyage.
7. Ne pas ouvrir ni démonter le compresseur PARI TREKMD S.
Confier l’entretien de l’appareil à un centre de service
PARI agréé.
8. Utiliser seulement des adaptateurs autorisés pour l’adaptateur
PARI TREKMD S. L’utilisation d’accessoires non approuvés
risque de compromettre le traitement ou d’endommager le
compresseur, les adaptateurs ou la batterie.
9. Ne jamais vaporiser de liquides sur le boîtier du compresseur
ou la batterie. Les liquides peuvent endommager les pièces
électriques et mécaniques du compresseur et entraîner le
dysfonctionnement de l’appareil. Lorsque du liquide pénètre
dans l’appareil, retourner le produit à un centre de service
PARI agréé pour qu’il soit évalué et réparé.
10. Éloigner tous les cordons électriques des surfaces chauffées.
Éviter de surcharger les prises murales ou d’employer des
rallonges électriques.
11. Ne pas utiliser le compresseur PARI TREKMD S ou le
nébuliseur réutilisable PARI en conduisant un véhicule.
12. Les dispositifs de communication RF portatifs et mobiles
peuvent perturber le matériel médical électrique. Le champ
électrique généré par le fonctionnement du compresseur
peut brouiller les écrans et les moniteurs (papillotement). Par
conséquent, le compresseur doit être installé à un endroit
suffisamment éloigné des écrans/moniteurs pour empêcher
tout brouillage. Les données techniques sur la compatibilité
électromagnétique sont disponibles sous forme de tableau
sur simple demande en téléphonant à la ligne Patients de PARI
Respiratory Equipment Inc. au 1.800.FAST.NEB (327.8632),
puis faites le 2.
MESURES DE SÉCURITÉ DE LA BATTERIE
AVERTISSEMENT
1. N’utiliser que la batterie rechargeable PARI TREKMD S décrite
dans le présent mode d’emploi avec votre compresseur PARI
TREKMD S.
2. Ne pas immerger la batterie rechargeable PARI TREKMD S
dans l’eau.
3. Ne pas toucher la batterie avec des mains mouillées ou humides.
4. Ne pas exposer la batterie à l’ensoleillement direct, à
l’humidité, à des températures extrêmes ou à des produits
chimiques.
5. S’assurer que les pôles de la batterie n’entrent pas en
contact avec des clés ou tout autre objet métallique pouvant
provoquer un court-circuit.
6. Ne pas tenter d’ouvrir le boîtier en plastique ou de remplacer
des pièces. Ne pas démonter la batterie rechargeable. La
batterie rechargeable est un ensemble scellé qui ne peut pas
être réparé.
7. Ne pas incinérer (brûler).
MISE EN GARDE
1. Pour recharger la batterie rechargeable PARI TREKMD S,
n’utiliser que l’adaptateur CA multi-tension PARI TREKMD S
ou l’adaptateur de 12 V CC en option. D’autres adaptateurs
risquent d’endommager la batterie.
2. En cas de défaillance de la recharge ou du fonctionnement,
débrancher la batterie rechargeable de l’adaptateur CA multi-
tension et éteindre l’appareil. Si la batterie rechargeable ne se
recharge pas ou ne fonctionne pas adéquatement, même en
tout respect du mode d’emploi, il faut aviser le centre de service
agréé en téléphonant à la ligne Patients sans frais (aux États-Unis)
de PARI au 1.800.FAST.NEB (327.8632), puis faire le 2.
3. Protéger l’environnement : lors du remplacement de la
batterie rechargeable, recycler la vieille batterie ou la jeter de
façon adéquate conformément aux règlements locaux.

D. INSTALLATION DUTREKMD S
INSTALLATION DU COMPRESSEUR
Vérifi ez que l’interrupteur est en position O, ou « Arrêt ».
1. Placez le compresseur sur une surface plane et stable.
Évitez de le placer sur des surfaces matelassées,
capitonnées ou recouvertes de tapis. Assurez-vous
que la surface est propre et sans poussière (Fig. A).
2. Vérifiez que l’interrupteur est en position « Arrêt » .
Avec l’adaptateur CA
1. Branchez l’adaptateur CA dans une prise murale
polarisée (Fig. A).
2. Branchez l’autre extrémité du cordon d’alimentation
dans la prise de courant sur le côté du compresseur ou
de la batterie rechargeable en option (Fig. C).
Avec l’adaptateur de 12V CC
REMARQUE : NE PAS UTILISER L’APPAREIL EN CONDUISANT
UN VÉHICULE
1. Branchez l’adaptateur de 12 V CC dans la prise de
courant du véhicule (Fig. B).
2. Branchez l’autre extrémité de l’adaptateur dans la
prise de courant sur le côté du compresseur ou de la
batterie rechargeable en option (Fig. C).
Avec la batterie rechargeable en option
La batterie au lithium rechargeable PARI TrekMD S
est offerte en option pour optimiser votre capacité
d’administrer des traitements en tous lieux.
Renseignezvous auprès de votre médecin et de votre
fournisseur de soins à domicile pour déterminer si une
batterie rechargeable pourrait s’avérer pratique compte
tenu de l’horaire de vos traitements.
1. Rechargez à fond la batterie avant son utilisation
initiale. Reportez-vous à la section « Batterie au lithium
rechargeable » à la page 5.
2. La batterie rechargeable ne peut pas être branchée
directement au PARI TrekMD S lorsque l’adaptateur CA
ou l’adaptateur de 12 V CC est branché dans la prise
de courant (Fig. D).
3. Fixez la batterie rechargeable au PARI TrekMD S en la
plaçant à l’arrière du compresseur et en la glissant
en place. Assurez-vous que la batterie est fixée
solidement au compresseur avant de le mettre en
marche (Fig. D).
4. Utilisez les voyants lumineux pour déterminer l’état
de la batterie. Reportez-vous à la section « Batterie au
lithium rechargeable » à la page 5.
Lorsque la batterie est complètement à plat, tous les
voyants et le compresseur s’éteignent.
REMARQUE : Si la batterie ne fonctionne pas, branchez
l’adaptateur CA dans la prise murale. Branchez l’autre
extrémité de l’adaptateur CA dans la prise de recharge sur le
côté de la batterie rechargeable. Le voyant de recharge devrait
s’allumer pour indiquer que la batterie a été réinitialisée et
qu’elle est en cours de recharge. Si le voyant de recharge ne
s’allume pas ou si les quatre voyants clignotent, la recharge
de la batterie a échoué et celle-ci ne doit pas être utilisée.

5. Pour enlever la batterie, appuyez sur le bouton de
déclenchement sous la batterie et maintenez-le
enfoncé. Faites glisser la batterie en l’éloignant du
compresseur (Fig. E).

4. Lorsque vous n’utilisez pas la batterie régulièrement,

Batterie au lithium rechargeable
Charger
Se référer à l’au dessous du diagramme.
1. Avant d’utiliser la batterie pour la première fois, il
faut la recharger complètement pendant plus de deux
heures ou jusqu’à ce que les trois voyants de niveau de
la batterie soient allumés et que le voyant de recharge
se soit éteint.
2. Pour recharger la batterie, branchez l’adaptateur CA
dans une prise murale polarisée (Fig. A). Branchez
l’autre extrémité de l’adaptateur CA dans la prise de
recharge sur le côté de la batterie rechargeable (Fig.
C). Le voyant de recharge s’allume pour indiquer que
la batterie se recharge.
3. Une fois la batterie rechargeable complètement
rechargée, le voyant de charge s’éteint. Débranchez
l’adaptateur CA multi-tension de la prise de recharge
sur le côté de la batterie rechargeable. Le temps
nécessaire pour recharger la batterie dépend de son

Dix étapes simples vous séparent de votre premier
traitement avec le TrekMD S. Respectez la marche à suivre
ci-dessous.
1. Nettoyez/désinfectez le bocal du nébuliseur : Pour bien
nettoyer et/ou désinfecter votre nébuliseur avant
son utilisation initiale, reportez-vous à section F & G.
Réassemblez le nébuliseur.
2. Assemblez le compresseur : Placez le compresseur sur
une surface plane, stable et sans poussière. Évitez les
surfaces matelassées, capitonnées ou recouvertes de
tapis. Vérifi ez que l’interrupteur est en position ,
ou « Arrêt ». Branchez le cordon d’alimentation
dans la prise murale. Activez et fi xez l’autocollant
TimestripMD à l’avant du compresseur TrekMD S comme
expliqué dans la section E.
3. Connectez le tube au compresseur : Insérez une
extrémité du tube Wing-TipMC à la sortie d’air du
compresseur. Elle doit être fi xée solidement (Fig. F).
4. Versez le médicament : Ouvrez la valve inspiratoire du
nébuliseur en soulevant le bouchon (Fig. G). Versez le
médicament dans le bocal du nébuliseur. Ne dépassez
jamais la ligne de remplissage max. de 8 ml.
5. Fixez l’embouchure ou le masque : Si vous utilisezl’
embouchure, fi xez-la à l’orifi ce de sortie du
nébuliseur avec la valve expiratoire orientée vers
le haut. Ensuite, refermez la valve inspiratoire en
appuyant fermement sur la partie supérieure du
nébuliseur. Si vous utilisez un masque, se rapporter à
vos instructions de masque.
6. Fixez le tube au bocal du nébuliseur : Appuyez
fermement sur l’autre extrémité du tube Wing-TipMC
au bas du nébuliseur réutilisable PARI (Fig. H).

7. Commencez le traitement : Assoyez-vous en
position droite et détendue, puis « allumez le »
le compresseur.
8. Position du nébuliseur : Placez l’embouchure sur la
langue et fermez la bouche. Respirez lentement
et profondément. Lorsque vous inspirez, la valve
d’inhalation s’ouvre.
9. Respiration : Avec l’embouchure, inspirez et expirez
doucement par la bouche. Lorsque vous expirez,
la valve de l’embouchure s’ouvre pour permettre
à la bruine de s’échapper. Avec un masque, placez
celui-ci sur le nez et la bouche, puis inspirez et expirez
doucement.
10. Terminez le traitement : Continuez jusqu’à ce qu’il n’y
ait plus de médicament ou qu’un léger crépitement se
fasse entendre. Éteignez le compresseur .
REMARQUE : Le compresseur PARITREKMD S est protégé par
un thermocontacteur . Lorsque le compresseur PARI TREKMD S
atteint son seuil de température maximale, il s’éteint automati
quement afin d’éviter qu’il ne soit endommagé. Dans le cas
peu probable où cette situation se produirait, le compresseur
PARI TREKMD S pourrait nécessiter jusqu’à 30 minutes pour se
refroidir avant de pouvoir poursuivre le traitement. Éteignez
le compresseur PARI TREKMD S et laissez-le se refroidir avant
de l’allumer de nouveau. Si le compresseur PARITREKMD S
ne s’allume pas après s’être refroidi pendant 30 minutes,
accordez-lui quelques minutes supplémentaires et réessayez.
S’il vous faut utiliser le compresseur PARI TrekMD S pendant plus
de 30 minutes, communiquez avec PARI au 1.800.FAST.NEB
(327.8632).

F. NETTOYAGE DU NÉBULISEUR
RÉUTILISABLE PARI
1. Déconnectez le tube de l’entrée d’air au bas du bocal
du nébuliseur.
2. S‘il y a de l’humidité (condensation) dans le tube,
laissez tourner le compresseur pendant 2 à 3 minutes
en ne laissant que le tube raccordé. L’air chaud du
compresseur sèchera le tube. Ou encore, vous pouvez
faire sécher le tube en le retirant du compresseur et
en le suspendant avec les extrémités vers le bas pour
laisser toute humidité (condensation) s’échapper et
s’évaporer. Utilisez un chiffon humide propre pour
essuyer l’extérieur du tube.
3. Démontez les pièces du nébuliseur réutilisable tel
qu’illustré à la page 3.
4. Nettoyez toutes les pièces avec de l’eau tiède et du
savon liquide à vaisselle. NE PAS LAVER LE TUBE.
5. Rincez soigneusement les pièces du nébuliseur
réutilisable à l’eau tiède et secouez l’excédent d’eau.
6. Séchez les pièces du nébuliseur à l’air ou à la main sur un
chiffon propre non pelucheux. Réassemblez le nébuliseur
lorsque toutes les pièces sont sèches et entreposez-le.
7. Vous pouvez également nettoyer toutes les pièces du
nébuliseur réutilisable sur le plateau supérieur d’un
lave-vaisselle. NE PAS LAVER LE TUBE. Mettez les
pièces du nébuliseur réutilisable dans le panier du lave-
vaisselle, puis placez le panier sur le plateau supérieur du
lave-vaisselle. Retirez les pièces et séchez-les lorsque le
lave-vaisselle termine son cycle de lavage.
AVERTISSEMENT
POUR RÉDUIRE LE RISQUE D’INFECTION :
1. Nébuliseur destiné à un usage pour un patient unique
(une seule personne). Ne pas partager le nébuliseur
avec d’autres patients.
2. Vous devez désinfecter ou stériliser régulièrement le
nébuliseur entre les traitements. Le défaut de ce faire
risquerait d’occasionner une maladie grave, voire
mortelle.
REMARQUE SUR LA DURÉE DU TRAITEMENT
Plusieurs facteurs ont une incidence sur la durée du
traitement, y compris l’âge, l’état de santé, le mode
de respiration et les médicaments du patient. Le PARI
TrekMD S a été conçu pour l’administration intermittente
de médicaments respiratoires et non pour une utilisation
continue pour l’humidification ou des traitements
prolongés (par exemple, plus de 30 minutes à la fois).
Lors de traitements prolongés, il se peut que le tube
devienne chaud et se déconnecte de l’entrée d’air du PARI
TrekMD S. Si votre médecin vous a prescrit des traitements
consécutifs (l’un après l’autre) de sorte que vous devez
utiliser votre PARI TrekMD S pendant plus de 30 minutes,
veuillez communiquer avec la ligne Patients de PARI au
1.800.FAST.NEB (327.8632).
E. TIMESTRIPMD
Pour assurer l’efficacité de vos traitements, il est très
important de remplacer votre nébuliseur réutilisable PARI à
tous les six mois. L’autocollant TimestripMD est un indicateur
visuel qui vous rappelle quand remplacer votre nébuliseur.
Activer l’autocollantTimestripMD :Pressez fermement la bulle
PARI entre votre doigt et votre pouce. Il se peut que vous
ayiez à la presser plusieurs fois pour vous assurer de vider
tout le liquide de la bulle.
Vérifier l’activation : Une ligne rouge apparaîtra dans le petit
cercle de l’autocollant TimestripMD dans les 1 à 2 minutes
suivantes pour indiquer l’activation. Si la ligne rouge
n’apparaît pas après 3 minutes, pressez de nouveau la bulle.
Appliquer au compresseur : Retirez la bande adhésive au
verso de l’autocollant TimestripMD et appliquez-le sur
le devant de votre compresseur. IMPORTANT –
N’APPLIQUEZ PAS L’AUTOCOLLANT TimestripMD
sur LE BOCAL DE VOT RE NÉBULISEUR.
Remplacer le nébuliseur : Lorsque le mot NOW s’affi
che dans la fenêtre (Fig. I), il faut remplacer le nébuliseur
réutilisable PARI. Communiquez avec votre fournisseur de
soins à domicile ou votre pharmacie pour commander un
nouveau nébuliseur réutilisable PARI.
AVERTISSEMENT
L’autocollant Timestrip peut présenter un risque de
suffocation pour les jeunes enfants – la surveillance d’un
adulte est requise.
L’autocollantTimestripMD ne surveille pas l’état du nébuliseur réutilisable PARI. L’autocollant TimestripMD ne fait qu’enregistrer le passage du temps après son activation. Lorsqu’il est activé au
moment de l’utilisation initiale du nébuliseur réutilisable PARI, il vous rappellera que le nébuliseur réutilisable PARI doit être remplacé.
Le liquide contenu dans l’autocollantTimestripMD n’est pas toxique. S’il est altéré, l’autocollant TimestripMD peut fuire et ne pas fonctionner correctement. Si le liquide entre en contact avec la
peau, lavez-la à l’eau et au savon. Si le liquide entre en contact avec les yeux, rincez-les immédiatement à grande eau pendant 15 minutes. Si une irritation se produit, consultez un médecin.

G. DÉSINFECTION DEVOTRE
NÉBULISEUR RÉUTILISABLE PARI
1. Nettoyez le nébuliseur tel qu’indiqué à la Section
F. Pour une légère désinfection aux deux jours de
traitement, trempez toutes les pièces du nébuliseur
réutilisable PARI (sauf le tube) dans une solution d’une
mesure de vinaigre blanc distillé pour trois mesures
d’eau de robinet chaude pendant une heure. Vous
pouvez substituer un désinfectant pour équipement
respiratoire (comme le Control IIIMD) au vinaigre blanc
distillé (en suivant les instructions de mélange du
fabricant).
2. Rincez soigneusement toutes les pièces du nébuliseur
réutilisable PARI à l’eau de robinet tiède et séchez-
les à l’aide d’un chiffon propre non pelucheux. Jetez
la solution de vinaigre lorsque la désinfection est
terminée.
3. Vous pouvez également désinfecter les pièces du
nébuliseur réutilisable PARI (sauf le tube) en les faisant
bouillir dans un chaudron propre pendant dix minutes.
4. Les hôpitaux et les cliniques peuvent stériliser les
pièces du nébuliseur réutilisable PARI (sauf le tube)
en autoclave (un maximum de 136 °C ou 277 °F) en
suivant les instructions du fabricant de l’autoclave.
5. Séchez les pièces avec un chiffon propre non
pelucheux.

H. NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN
FILTRE
Lorsqu’il est neuf, le filtre à air du TrekMD S est d’un
blanc éclatant. Avec l’usage, le filtre deviendra gris auquel
moment, il faudra le remplacer. Le filtre doit être remplacé
immédiatement s’il devient humide ou obstrué. Nous vous
conseillons de remplacer le filtre à tous les six mois, en
même temps que votre nébuliseur réutilisable PARI.
Retrait : Assurez-vous d’abord que le PARI TrekMD S est
éteint. À l’aide d’une pièce de monnaie, retirez le couvercle
du filtre à air en le tournant dans le sens contraire des
aiguilles d’une montre. Enlevez le bouchon et le filtre, puis
retirez le filtre du bouchon (Fig. J-K). Insérez un nouveau
filtre dans le bouchon, extrémité ouverte vers l’extérieur
(Fig K-L). Remettez le bouchon et le filtre en place sur le
devant de votre PARI TrekMD S. Utilisez la pièce de monnaie
pour visser le couvercle dans le sens des aiguilles d’une
montre.
Remarque : Ne pas laver ni réutiliser les filtres à air. Ne
pas utiliser du matériel de filtre d’un autre fournisseur; cela
risquerait d’endommager le compresseur.
COMPRESSEUR ET BATTERIE RECHARGEABLE
Utilisez un chiffon humide propre pour essuyer l’extérieur
du boîtier du compresseur. Veillez à ne pas verser du
liquide sur la prise de courant ou le contact de la batterie
pour éviter tout dommage éventuel.
ENTRETIEN ET RÉPARATION
N’utilisez jamais votre PARI TrekMD S s’il est mal ou
incomplètement assemblé, ou endommagé. N’utilisez que
des pièces et des accessoires PARI d’origine autorisés
par PARI pour le système de compresseur compact
PARI TrekMD S. L’utilisation d’autres pièces et accessoires
risque d’endommager l’appareil ou d’occasionner un
traitement inapproprié. N’ouvrez et ne démontez jamais le
compresseur.
Remarque : Le système de compresseur compact PARI TrekMD
S ne contient aucune pièce réparable par l’utilisateur.Toute
tentative de réparation annulera la garantie.
