This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal
injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow this symbol to

Aggressive dogs can cause severe injury and even death to

certified trainer.

Please read and follow the instructions in this manual. Proper fit of the
collar is important. A collar worn for too long, or made too tight on the
pet’s neck may cause skin damage. This is called bed sores; it is also
called decubitus ulcers or pressure necrosis.
• Avoid leaving the collar on the dog for more than 12 hours per day.
• When possible reposition the collar on the pet’s neck every
1 to 2 hours.
• Check the fit to prevent excessive pressure; follow the instructions in
this manual.
• Never connect a lead to the electronic collar; it will cause excessive
pressure on the contacts.
• When using a separate collar for a lead, don’t put pressure on the
electronic collar.
• Wash the dog’s neck area and the contacts of the collar weekly with a
damp cloth.
• Examine the contact area daily for signs of a rash or a sore.
• If a rash or sore is found, discontinue use of the collar until the skin
has healed.
• If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.

These steps will help keep your pet safe and comfortable. Millions of pets
are comfortable while they wear stainless steel contacts. Some pets are
sensitive to contact pressure. You may find after some time that your pet is
very tolerant of the collar. If so, you may relax some of these precautions.
It is important to continue daily checks of the contact area. If redness or
sores are found, discontinue use until the skin has fully healed.
• You may need to trim the hair in the area of the Contact Points. Never
shave the dog’s neck; this may lead to a rash or infection.
• You should not make the collar any tighter than is required for good
contact. A collar that is too tight will increase the risk of pressure
necrosis in the contact area.
• The PetSafe®Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar must be used only on healthy
dogs. We recommend that you take your dog to a veterinarian before
using the collar if he is not in good health.

How the System Works
The PetSafe®Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar has two primary features designed to shorten the
training phase and promote good behaviour.
First, the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar has a unique patented sensor that provides the most reliable
bark detection available. The Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar uses both vibration and sound sensors
(dual-detection) to discriminate each bark from other external noises. A Static Correction is
administered through the Contact Points only if both the vibration from the vocal chords and
the sound from the bark match the same criteria.
Second, the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar has a patent pending Temperament Learning System
design that is effective across many dog breeds and their individual barking behaviours. The
Temperament Learning System contains software that tracks the number of corrections needed
to substantially reduce (and in most cases eliminate) the number of nuisance barks.
The system has 10 levels of Static Correction. It begins with low-level corrections, however,
if excessive barking continues the correction intensity will increase with each successive bark
until the barking stops. Once the dog has learned to reduce the barking, the initial warning
corrections are reduced. As a built-in safety feature, if your dog barks 15 times or more
within a 1 minute 20 second period, the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar will automatically shut off
for 3 minutes.
Important: Before playing with your dog, remove the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar. The
activity may cause your dog to bark, which could lead to him associating the play with
the Static Correction.

Fit the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar
Important: The proper t and placement of your Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar is important for
effective operation. The Contact Points must have direct contact with your dog’s skin on the
underside of his neck.
Please refer to page 2 for important safety information.
To assure a proper t, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure that the battery is in the “OFF” position.
2. Have your dog standing comfortably (A).
3. Centre the Contact Points underneath your dog’s neck,
touching the skin (B).
You may need to trim the hair in the area of the Contact Points. Never
shave the dog’s neck; this may lead to a rash or infection.
4. The Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar should t snugly, yet loose enough
to allow one nger to t between a Contact Point and your dog’s
neck (C). Allow your dog to wear the collar for several minutes,
then recheck the t. Check the t again as your dog becomes
more comfortable with the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar.
You should not make the collar any more tight than is required for good
contact. A collar that is too tight will increase the risk of pressure necrosis
in the contact area.
5. Trim the collar as follows (D):
a. Mark the desired length of the Deluxe Anti-
Bark Collar with a pen. Allow for growth if
your dog is young or grows a thick
winter coat.
b. Remove the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar from
your dog and cut off the excess.
c. Before placing the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar
back onto your dog, seal the edge of the cut
collar by applying a ame along the frayed edge.

Care and Cleaning
• Your dog’s neck and the Contact Points must be washed weekly with a damp cloth.
• Be sure that your pet’s neck is thoroughly dry before placing the Bark Collar back on his neck.
Risk of skin damage.
•For comfort, safety and effectiveness of this product, please ensure that
you check the fit of your pet’s collar frequently. If any skin irritation
is observed, discontinue the use of the collar for a few days. If the
condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.
•Do not attach a lead to the collar. This can result in pulling the Contact
Points too tightly against your pet’s neck. Attach a lead to a separate,
non-metallic collar or harness, making sure the extra collar does not put
pressure on the Contact Points.
ON/OFF Battery Module
The PetSafe®Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar is packaged with the battery module installed in the
“OFF” position. To activate the collar, use a coin to turn the Battery Module counter clockwise
until the arrow lines up with the “ON” position. If the PetSafe®Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar is not
going to be used on the dog immediately leave it in the “OFF” position.
To Insert and Remove the Battery
Note: Do not install the battery while the Deluxe Anti-
Bark Collar is on your dog.
1. Align the triangles on the battery and the Deluxe
Anti-Bark Collar (A).
2. Use a coin to turn the battery clockwise until the
triangle lines up with the “ON” position if you are
putting it on the dog or the “OFF” position if it is
not being put on the dog right away (B).
3. To remove the battery, turn the battery counter-
clockwise using a coin (C, D).
DO NOT attempt to cut into or pry open the battery. Be sure to discard the
used battery properly.

This Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar utilizes a replaceable PetSafe®battery (RFA-188). This unique battery
is designed to make battery replacement easier and increase water protection.
A replacement PetSafe®battery (RFA-188) can be found at many retailers. Contact the Customer
Care Centre or visit our web site at www.petsafe.net to locate a retailer near you.
Battery Life
Average battery life is 3 to 6 months, depending on how often your dog barks. However,
due to greater use during your dog’s training, your rst battery may not last as long as
replacement batteries. To conserve battery life, turn to the “OFF” position when the Deluxe
Anti-Bark Collar is not in use.
Three Colour LED
The three colour LED indicator shows good or low battery or reset function. Good battery
equals 1 ash every 5 seconds with Green LED. Low battery equals 3 ashes every 5
seconds with the Red LED. If there are no LED lights it is time to change the battery. The LED
will ash Orange 5 times to indicate that the correction level has been reset.
Modes of Operation
Temperament Learning Normal Operation
As soon as the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar has been turned on, the LED pattern will ash
as follows:
1. The LED will turn solid Green for 1 second.
2. The LED will turn solid Orange for 2 seconds.
3. The LED will ash Green 5 times to indicate that the unit is starting normal operation and is
ready to be placed on the pet.
Note: Please see “How the System Works” for an explanation of the Temperament
Learning System.
To Reset the Correction Level:
After turning the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar off, the Temperament Learning System retains the last
correction level that the pet responded to (Level 1-10), and uses that correction level the next
time the collar is turned on.
If you would like to reset the correction level to 1, complete the following sequence:
1. Turn the unit on.
2. The LED will turn solid Green for 1 second.
3. The LED will turn solid Orange for 2 seconds.
4. As soon as the LED is Orange turn the unit off, (this can be done by using a coin to turn the
battery module to the “OFF” position.)
5. Wait 2 seconds with the unit turned off.
6. Turn the unit on (this can be done by using a coin to turn the battery module to the
“ON” position.)
7. The LED will ash Orange 5 times to indicate that the correction level has been reset to
Level 1 and the unit is starting normal operation. The unit is now ready to be placed on
the pet.

What to Expect During Use of the
Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar
Important: Do not leave your dog alone the rst few times he receives a Static Correction.
Place the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar properly on your dog and wait nearby until he barks.
Most dogs will understand very quickly that the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar is disrupting their urge
to bark and will relax and stop barking. Because the Static Correction from the Deluxe Anti-
Bark Collar may be surprising or startling at rst, some dogs may bark more at the
initial correction.
On rare occasions, a dog may get into a bark-correction-bark-correction cycle. If this happens,
reassure your dog with calm, soothing tones. As your dog relaxes, he will understand that if
he becomes quiet, he will not receive any more Static Corrections. The small minority of dogs
that have this reaction will only have it the rst time they wear the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar.
You should notice a reduction in your dog’s barking within the rst couple of days that he
wears the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar. At this point, it is important to remember the learning
process is still not complete. Dogs will “test” this new learning experience and will increase
their attempts to bark. This usually occurs during the second week a dog wears the Deluxe
Anti-Bark Collar. If this does occur, remain consistent and do not alter your use of the Deluxe
Anti-Bark Collar. You must place the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar on your dog in every situation
when you expect him to be quiet. If your dog is not wearing the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar, he
may resume barking and his learning would suffer a setback.

• No.
Is the Deluxe Anti-
Bark Collar safe and
humane?
• Yes. The Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar is designed to get your
dog’s attention, not to punish him. However, the initial Static
Correction may startle your dog.
Will the Deluxe Anti-
Bark Collar work for
my dog?
• The Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar is safe and effective for all
breeds and sizes of dogs. However, the Big Dog Collar is
recommended for dogs 18+ kg and the Little Dog Collar is
recommended for dogs up to 25 kg.
• The system should only be used with pets who are over
6 months of age. If your pet is injured or its mobility is
otherwise impaired, contact your veterinarian or professional
trainer before use.
Can I attach a lead to
the Deluxe Anti-Bark
Collar?
• No. This can result in pulling the Contact Points too tightly
against your dog’s neck. Attach a lead to a separate, non-
metallic collar or a harness, making sure the extra collar
does not put pressure on the Contact Points.
Troubleshooting
My dog keeps
barking (does not

• Tighten the Deluxe Anti-Bark Collar and/or trim your dog’s
hair where the Contact Points touch his neck to ensure good
skin contact.
• Replace the battery.

Use of this Product is subject to your acceptance without modification of the terms,

2. Proper Use
This Product is designed for use with pets where training is desired. The specific
temperament or size/weight of your pet may not be suitable for this Product (please
refer to “How the System Works” in this Operating Guide). Radio Systems®Corporation
recommends that this Product is not used if your pet is aggressive and accepts no liability
for determining suitability in individual cases. If you are unsure whether this Product is
appropriate for your pet, please consult your veterinarian or certified trainer prior to use.
Proper use includes, without limitation, reviewing the entire Operating Guide and any
specific Caution statements.
3. No Unlawful or Prohibited Use
This Product is designed for use with pets only. This pet training device is not intended to
harm, injure or provoke. Using this Product in a way that is not intended could result in
violation of Federal, State or local laws.
4. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Radio Systems®Corporation or any of its associated companies be
liable for (i) any indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damage and/
or (ii) any loss or damages whatsoever arising out of or connected with the misuse of
this Product. The Purchaser assumes all risks and liability from the use of this Product to
the fullest extent permissible by law. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this clause
4 shall limit Radio Systems®Corporation’s liability for human death or personal injury or
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

of the type lithium with 3 Volt capacity with 160 mAH capacity. Replace only with
equivalent battery.

Please respect the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations in your country.
This equipment must be recycled. If you no longer require this equipment, do not place it in
the normal municipal waste system. Please return it to where it was purchased in order that
it can be placed in our recycling system. If this is not possible, please contact the Customer

Ces précautions vous permettront de garantir la sécurité et le confort de
votre animal. Des millions d’animaux n’ont aucun problème à porter les

Fonctionnement du système
Le collier anti-aboiements de luxe PetSafe®comporte deux fonctionnalités principales conçues
pour optimiser le temps consacré au dressage du chien en favorisant les bons comportements.
Tout d’abord, le collier anti-aboiements de luxe dispose d’un capteur breveté unique en son
genre offrant le système de détection des aboiements le plus able du marché. Pour opérer
la distinction entre les aboiements de votre chien et les autres bruits environnants, le collier
anti-aboiements de luxe utilise non seulement un capteur sonore mais aussi un capteur de
vibrations (double détection). Une correction électrostatique n’est émise par les contacteurs
que lorsque les vibrations des cordes vocales concordent avec le son des aboiements.
Par ailleurs, PetSafe®s’apprête à breveter un système d’apprentissage basé sur le tempérament
du chien qui équipe désormais le collier anti-aboiements, et qui est conçu pour être efcace
pour des chiens de races différentes caractérisées par des comportements particuliers en
matière d’aboiements. Ce système d’apprentissage comporte un logiciel qui enregistre
le nombre de corrections nécessaires pour réduire de manière signicative le nombre
d’aboiements intempestifs (jusqu’à les éliminer, dans la plupart des cas).
Le système propose 10 niveaux de correction électrostatique. Il émet tout d’abord des
corrections de faible intensité. Si votre chien continue d’aboyer, l’intensité des corrections
augmente progressivement à chaque nouvel aboiement, et ce, jusqu’à ce qu’il cesse d’aboyer.
Lorsque le chien a appris à limiter ses aboiements, l’intensité des corrections initiales
destinées à l’avertir diminue. Par mesure de sécurité, le collier anti-aboiements de luxe s’éteint
automatiquement pendant 3 minutes si votre chien aboie 15 fois ou plus sur une période
d’une minute et vingt secondes.
Important : Avant de jouer avec votre chien, retirez le collier anti-aboiements de luxe.
Cette activité risque de le faire aboyer, ce qui pourrait le conduire à associer le jeu à la
correction électrostatique.

Dénitions

Ajustement du collier anti-aboiements de luxe
Important : Pour un fonctionnement efcace, il est important d’ajuster et de placer
correctement le collier anti-aboiements de luxe. Les contacteurs doivent être directement en
contact avec la peau de votre chien, au niveau de la partie inférieure du cou.
Reportez-vous en page 14 pour obtenir des informations
importantes sur la sécurité.
Pour assurer un ajustement correct, veuillez suivre les étapes ci-dessous :
1. Vériez que la pile est en position « OFF ».
2. Installez votre chien dans une position confortable (A).
3. Centrez les contacteurs sous le cou de votre chien, en contact
avec la peau (B).
Il peut s’avérer nécessaire de couper les poils de votre chien dans zone
située autour des contacteurs. Ne rasez jamais le cou de votre chien, car
cela risquerait de provoquer des irritations ou une infection.
4. Le collier anti-aboiements de luxe doit être bien ajusté, mais suf-
samment lâche pour vous permettre de glisser un doigt entre le
contacteur et le cou de votre chien (C). Laissez le collier pendant
plusieurs minutes sur votre chien, puis vériez à nouveau l’ajuste-
ment. Vériez-le une nouvelle fois lorsque votre chien sera plus à
l’aise avec le collier anti-aboiements de luxe.
Assurez-vous de ne pas serrer le collier de manière excessive. Un collier
trop serré accroît le risque de nécrose cutanée dans la zone de contact
du collier.
5. Coupez le collier à la taille voulue (D) :
a. Faites une marque avec un stylo à la
longueur voulue. Laissez une longueur suf
sante si votre chien n’a pas encore atteint sa
taille adulte ou si son poil s’épaissit en hiver.
b. Enlevez le collier anti-aboiements de luxe et
coupez la section en trop.
c. Avant de remettre le collier anti-aboiements
de luxe sur votre chien, passez une amme
sur le bord coupé du collier.

Entretien
• Assurez-vous de bien nettoyer le cou de votre chien et les contacteurs toutes les semaines à
l’aide d’un tissu humide.
• Assurez-vous que le cou de l’animal soit bien sec avant de lui mettre le collier anti-aboiements.
Risque d’irritation de la peau.
• Pour garantir le confort, la sécurité et l’ef cacité de ce produit, vériez
l’ajustement du collier de votre chien régulièrement. Si une irritation de
la peau devait être constatée, retirez le collier pendant quelques jours.
Si l’irritation persiste au-delà de 48 heures, consultez votre vétérinaire.
• N’attachez pas de laisse au collier. Les contacteurs risqueraient alors
d’exercer une pression trop forte sur le cou de votre animal. Attachez
une laisse à un collier ou un harnais non métallique distinct en vériant
que le collier supplémentaire n’exerce aucune pression sur
les contacteurs.
Module pile en mode ON/OFF
Le collier anti-aboiements de luxe Petsafe®est conditionné avec un module pile placé en
position « OFF ». Pour activer le collier, utilisez une pièce de monnaie pour faire tourner
le module pile dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre jusqu’à ce que la èche soit
alignée sur la position « ON ». Si le collier anti-aboiements de luxe Petsafe®n’est pas utilisé
immédiatement, laissez-le en position « OFF ».
Insérer et retirer la pile
Remarque : N’installez pas la pile tant que le collier anti-
aboiements de luxe est sur votre chien.
1. Alignez les triangles situés sur la pile et
le collier anti-aboiements de luxe (A).
2 Utilisez une pièce de monnaie pour faire tourner la pile
dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre jusqu’à ce que
le triangle soit aligné sur la position « ON » si vous vous
installez le collier sur le chien, ou sur la position « OFF »
si vous ne l’utilisez pas tout de suite (B).
3. Pour retirer la pile, faites-la tourner dans le sens inverse
des aiguilles d’une montre à l’aide d’une pièce de
monnaie (C, D).
N’essayez PAS de couper dans la pile ou de l’ouvrir. Prenez soin
d’éliminer la pile usagée conformément aux normes en vigueur.
