DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
1) Warning: All air pressure in the unit must be relieved prior to disassembly of gripper.
2) During disassembly, be careful to avoid scratching bearing or sealing areas.
3) Remove set screws from jaws (set screws retain dowel pins in jaws). Mark hole for identification during
reassembly.
4) Remove dowel pins (jaw drivers) from jaws. A magnetized tool may be used.
5) Remove socket head cap screws retaining bore covers and gaskets.
6) To remove jaw assemblies, move jaws to open position and disengage from synchronizing disc. Jaw assem-
blies will slide out of body.

7) Move pistons to open position and remove from bore. Care should be taken not to scratch sealing surface of
seal groove in piston while removing piston seals, noting orientation.
8) Synchronizing disc may be removed by aligning the slots of the disc parallel to the front of the gripper. Lift disc
upwards in t-slot and slide out of unit.
9) Clean and inspect all components. Worn or damaged components should be replaced.
REASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
1) Be careful to avoid damaging seals during reassembly.
2) Lubrication guidelines (only use lubricants which are compatible with pneumatic devices)
•Internal seals: petroleum-based lubricant/grease
•Jaw slots, synchronizer cavity and synchronizer disc: heavier weight petroleum-based grease
3) Lubricate synchronizer cavity.
4) Align flats of synchronizing disc with t-slot, slide synchronizer to center and drop into place on pivot pin. See
figure 1.
5) Lubricate t-slot, synchronizing disc, and slots in synchronizing disc.
6) Install jaws in t-slot, slots in synchronizing disc must be aligned with pins in jaws. Pins in both jaws must be
inserted in the synchronizing disc slots simultaneously.
7) Replace and lubricate piston seals and install on piston. See figure 2 for orientation.
8) Lightly lubricate piston bore and pistons.
9) Install pistons with shallow magnet hole facing t-slot in body, note orientation for magnetic piston.
See figures 1 and 2.
10) Align hole in jaw (marked during disassembly) with hole in piston. Insert dowel pins (jaw drivers), chamfer
first, through jaw and into hole in piston. See figure 2
11) Apply removable threadlocker to set screws and install in jaw, flush to .020 in [.5 mm] below flush.

12) Locate bore gasket and bore cover on end of gripper with notches facing jaws. See figure 1.
13) Apply removable threadlocker to socket head cap screws, insert through bore cover and gasket and torque to
specified torque. See table 1 for assembly torque.
