Introduction
Overview
The DVR-450 (TriplexDigitalVideo Recorder) isforrecording/playback/Network video streamsfromupto4
channelsat the sametime.Itadoptscutting-edge digitalimage compression technologytocompress the
analog inputchannelvideo streams, and usesHDD torecordthe compressed video stream.
The following operation guide explainshowtooperate/manage the DVR-450,and the following installation
guide explainshowtocompletethe first DVR-450 installation on yourside.
DVR Functions

1. USBport

Wheneverthisbutton ispressed, archiving will be started.
3. RECbutton
Press REC (Red circle) button tostart recording.PressRECagaintostop recording.Thisistoggle
button.
4. PLAY/ STOPbutton
If PLAY/ STOP button ispressed, searchlistswillbe displayed.Afterselecting one recorded file,
playback will be started bypressing PLAY/ STOP button.Tostop playback, press thisbutton isagain.Thisis
togglebutton.Whileit isinFForREWplayback withhigh speed playback mode,thisbuttincan returnto
playback.
5. FF
Press thisbutton toperformhigh speed forwardplayback. It supports2to32 timesplayback speed.
6. REW
Press thisbutton toperformhigh speed backwardplayback.It supports2to16 timesplayback speed.
7. PAUSE
Press thisbutton topauseplayback.
8. MENU/ESC
Press MENU/ESC button toentersystemmenu.Also MENU/ESC isused toescape uppermenu and to
saveset-up parameteratthe sametime.
9. QUAD/ SEQ
Thisbutton isused forQUAD, sequentialdisplay.Itisrotated asQUADSequential QUAD.

Physical Interfaces
1. 75 OhmTerminationSwitch
If you want toconnect loop-through video outputsintoanothervideo equipments,
75 Ohmtermination switchshouldbe “OFF”.Then,anothervideo equipmentsshould
be 75 ohmterminated.
Ifloop through videooutputsarenot connected toanothervideo equipments,itshould
be “ON”.
If 75 Ohmterminationswitch “ON”or “OFF”ischanged, itwillcausepoorvideo quality.
2. 4CH VideoInput:4channelcompositevideo inputswithBNC connectors

ON, NTSCorPALvideo sourcescan be connected. ButNTSCand PALvideo sources
for4CHvideo inputscan not be mixed.Iftheyaremixed,DVRcan not be operated
properly.
3. 4CH Loopthroughoutputs: 4channelcompositevideo outputswithBNC connectors
If the connection ofloop-through video outputsintoanothervideo equipmentsis
requested, 4CH Loop-Through outputscan be utilized forit.Ifloop-through video
outputswillbe connected toanothervideoequipments, 75 Ohmtermination switch
shouldbe “OFF”.Then, anothervideo equipmentsshouldbe 75 ohmterminated.
4. VideoOutput1: compositevideo output
Connect thisvideo output tomonitorsothatlive,playback pictureswouldbe monitored.
5.AudioInput,AudioOutput: Unbalanced audiosignalinput withRCAjack
ThisDVRcan recordaudio. Connectthe audiosourcetoaudioinput. Connect audio
outputtoyouramplifierbecausethe DVRdoesnot haveamplified audiooutput,soyou
willneed aspeakerwithan amplifier.The audioinput can be froman amplifiedsource
ordirectlyfromamicrophone.
6. EthernetPort:RJ45 jack
Connect aCat5cablewithan RJ-45 jacktothe DVRconnector.RemotePCviewer
softwarevianetwork enableyou toliveviewing orsearching.
7. RS485:Forcamerapan and tilting control
ThisDVRcan be controlled remotelybyremotePCsoftware.The RS485 connector
can be used tocontrolPTZ(pan, tilt, zoom)cameras. Connect RX+, RX-ofthe
controlsystemtothe TX+, TX-(respectively)ofthe DVR.
8.Alarm inputandrelay output: 4alarminputsand 1relayoutputwithNO, NC
Tomakesecureconnectionson the AlarmConnectorStrip, press and holdthe button
and insertthe wireinthe holebelowthe button.Afterreleasing the button,tug gently
on the wiretomakecertainitisconnected.Todisconnect awire, press and holdthe
button abovethe wireand pulloutthe wire.
9. Alarm Inputs: 1,2,3,4,G(Ground)
You can useexternal devicestosignalthe DVRtoreact toevents. Mechanical or
electrical switchescan be wired tothe AlarmInputsand GND (Ground)connectors.

Connect the ground side of theAlarminputtoG (Ground). Connect the ground side of
relayoutputtoCOMconnector.
Relay output:
The DVRsupport NO, NCrelayoutput atthe sametime.You can select NO orNC, according to
characteristicofmechanicalorelectrical switch.

When itisset asOFF, blackpictureswillbe displayed inthe cameo withvideo loss.
When it isset asON, “VIDEOLOSS”characterwill be displayed inbluescreen.
6) POP-UPDISPLAY: ON/ OFF
Whenitisset asON,the channelimage willPOP-UPuptomaximum30 secondsif anymotionsare
detected inenabled motion detection cameraoranyexternalalarmistriggered.When itissetasOFF,the
channelimage willnotpop-up if thereisanymotion detected.
Incasethatmotion detection oralarmeventisoccurredmorethan twochannels, POP-UPpicturewillbe
appeared inmonitorturnbyturnduring 3secondsforeachchannel.Totalperiod ofPOP-UPdisplayis30
seconds.

Channeldisplayposition can be adjusted bythisitem.Even samevideo signalcan be displayed on
differentposition ofmonitorbythe deflection characteristicof it.
